  1. Actually, these before & after photos are off by a few blocks, but I still get the point, and I agree with the idea. If you click the link and "swipe" they show the before and after with precision.

Here ya go, Goff #10 and Wentz #11. Interesting to see that Paxson Lynch is no where to be found on this list after being praised for his physical attributes. Looking at this I do want to proceed with caution still after reading Wentz only played 24 games in the FCS and how his team went 8-0 without him. When I see things like that I wonder how vital you really were when it came to your teams success. I just am not sold on him. My biggest worry with Goff is his arm strength, if he had a great arm he would be a lock imo. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/big-board

Old rumor heating up. Take it for what it's worth according to a story on Bleacher Report, the Cleveland Browns are leaning towards Wentz at #2. If this is true, which I hope it's not, it would be a bad decision in my opinion. Goff has talent, has gotten better every year in college, played well in big games, has huge confidence all while playing in the FBS not FCS. The difference in playing in the FBS and FCS is too large to justify a number 2 selection, number 32 is better. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2618713-insider-buzz-browns-leaning-towards-qb-carson-wentz-with-no-2-overall-pick
  4. This has to be one of nicest looking convention center hotels in the country!
  5. That could be a reason, I find it slightly odd that these stores are closing one behind the other. I feel like they may be freeing up retail space.
  6. I don't see photos
  7. I'm sure there are, but you just went from one extreme to the other with that comparison. Plain and simple, Cleveland is a very cheap market, and the average person can afford to live on a fairly spacious 1 to 2 bedroom apartment. I love Cleveland, but it's not like people are knocking down the door to live here and will occupy the first closet that comes available. I will start by saying, I do agree with your statement. I'm here playing a little devils advocate though. You're right in saying people aren't knocking down doors to live in closest closet in Cleveland, but for university circle in general I don't believe that statement holds up. University Circle's population is around that of Downtown Cleveland with much less land to work with. The real estate in the area is prime real estate with little room which is why the buildings are getting taller. Little room for real estate + high demand area = interest for whatever space people can get. Maybe micro-apartments do make sense for University Circle specifically.
  8. Using that unit doesn't make it seem worth the price
  9. Why is a landscaped frontage required? I don't seem to recall the victory building having anything like that. EDIT: I mention the Victory building because it is built in the same district.
  10. Some windy days ahead on that balcony! [emoji4]
  11. I had this thought earlier, I'm confused as well.
  12. I like it, it looks better than the original proposal still,is built to the street and contains plenty of storefronts. I don't see the problem. Sure it is shorter but it's not like we're dealing with a drop from 11 stories to 2 stories. Also I lie that they added color to the building, which continues the theme of a lot of U.C residential buildings. If this is what they have to do to get it off of the ground than so be it.
  13. Interesting, well that's kind of a bummer because I would have really liked that Wendy's. As I stated earlier I was going off of what the workers told me that they were informed with, guess you can't believe everything. When you say similar eateries are they going to try and attract more national fast food chains?
  14. I something up thread that said the water feature was removed. Is this true? If so that was my favorite part of it.
  15. Interesting that the largest amount of people come from Brooklyn and they consider Cleveland the next Brooklyn.
  16. I just realized with these developments the North Coast Harbor station should finally get a big bump in riders.
  17. The same could be said of W 25th, W 65th, West Blvd, Triskett, West Park... I wouldn't be surprised, maybe I went too far with the red headed step child thing but either way it could use some work. I understand that RTA is slowly fixing their stations and Superior will have its turn, it may be a while because it isn't in the worst shape so it may not be the highest priority.
  18. I look at the Superior station as the red headed step child to Windermere. That station is in tip-top condition while the station right down the street is experiencing some neglect. It is still in decent shape but it is dark, and smells like urine on occasions. The platform area is still in good shape though, some windows could be replaced.
  19. Although it is a long shot to happen in the near future, a station that has tremendous TOD potential is the Superior station. Behind it is a large amount of neglected housing, bars and a high rise. In front of it you have an old white castle that can get torn down for residential or mixed use and an empty parking lot that can be built upon. Across the street from that you have two strip malls that if development interest was there could be residential with retail at the bottom and those apartments that sit on corner of Euclid and Superior (I believe those are being torn down though). More obviously could be done around those aforementioned areas to increase residential and transit numbers but even just those sites that I mentioned could be a big boost for the station. If that area ever could become a hot spot then it would be easy to build around the station, it is above grade, sits above a main street, is easily accessible and is highly visible.
  20. ? Having a fashion week does not make a city fashionable. Cleveland would be an example of this (as would Columbus when talking clothing retailer headquarters). That would be the same line of thinking that Houston is more cultured in live performances since it has (allegedly) the second largest concentrated theater district in the United States. I think May Day's meaning is pretty clear. The Columbus based companies may produce a lot of clothing, but that doesn't necessarily make it fashionable clothing. Or, Columbus may pump out a lot of apparel, but that doesn't make it a fashionable city based on the clothing choices of its inhabitants? fashion: a popular way of dressing during a particular time or among a particular group of people : the business of creating and selling clothes in new styles Whether you like Victoria Secret or A&F or even Big Lots, they pump out "fashionable" clothing, by definition. Is it Alexander Wang or fashion-conscience designers like the houses of Paris, Milan, Tokyo, or New York? No. But it is a type of fashion. MayDay's point is valid (we all know what he means, really), but I suppose it's about interpretation of what exactly is fashion as a term which the article keeps vague. I'm not saying we are a fashionable city. What I am saying is basing being fashionable on numbers and rankings causes other cities to be considered fashionable when they may or may not be (like Cleveland) based off of various rankings when it comes to fashion.
  21. If you are basing being considered a fashion capital off of rankings and numbers then Cleveland should be up there with if not ahead of Columbus. Cleveland's Fashion Week is the third largest in the country outside of New York City and Los Angeles. In the end it's all subjective and opinion based.
  22. Budgets for news media continue to be slashed... Wait they seriously are cutting back on cameramen? I know photographers are being eliminated but I would imagine television news camera men are too vital to a news operation to eliminate....
  23. Did he just do a news story from a cellphone?
