Cleveland Rapid Rail Construction Projects (Non-Service Issues)
Three things: #1. Will their be more glass by the platform area than what was shown in the pictures? As it stands now there is just a lot of concrete I see and it looks pretty bland. #2. How long is the platform going to be? From the photos it looks kind of short, will it be able to hold 3-4 cars if need be? #3. That station was originally intended to be a station that helped in connecting East Cleveland with downtown, didn't that technically get accomplished?

Blatt needs to utilize more of his bench, having an extra days rest is nice but if you're just gonna drive them back into the ground then that extra day of rest means nothing IMO.

Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
I've come to realize that when a university specializes in a certain program, urban planning in CSU's case they don't seem to show it when one looks at their university. Take Kent State for example, it has an AMAZING architecture program, one of the top in the country. The problem is though they have some of the WORST architecture I've ever seen. Besides front campus (Franklin Hall, Merrill etc.) the rest of campus contains bland box buildings that lack character inside and out. So I can't say I'm surprised that Cleveland State has come up with a building with a layout such as this. The irony. Kent State looked like twenty junior high schools, clustered together. I remember for years the Akron College of Engineering building was crumbling; literally falling apart. You could walk past and grab pieces of the building off with your bare hands. Taylor Hall which houses the Architecture program is pretty ancient and poorly designed. You can catch the elevator to the 4th floor on the architecture side of the building but when you take it back down you only can leave on the communication studies side of the building. It gets pretty confusing especially for newer students. Also the building isn't very inspiring, it's made out of concrete, the classrooms have no windows and contain cinder blocks for walls. It is pretty counter-productive for a major that requires inspirational thinking.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Can't that be attributed to an old rail fleet with older rail technology when it comes to the electrical system, which leads to higher cost because of lower efficiency?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that I read somewhere that once the RTA renovates/replaces it's current stations it would be easier to obtain federal money for things like red line expansion. Is that correct or somewhat correct?

I've been curious about that graffiti. Are they gonna cover it once the station is completed?

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
That is exactly what i mean, so many people would pack the train to attend those events if there were more events that could be held there. This is especially true because of the trains close proximity to the stadium. I compare it to people catching the train to Tower city for the Q due to the convenience of the stadium being connected. This is a pipe dream though, and has been discussed in length so it's not important.

Shaker Heights: Van Aken District Transit Oriented Development
Will that parking garage in the site plan have retail at the bottom or is it just a cookie cutter parking garage with no street activity?

Cleveland: Downtown: Hilton Cleveland
^^At first when I saw the concrete going up on the edges of the building I thought "ugh this is a disaster" but now that I see they contain some architectural details I feel better about them. They still create a sort of dead zone/unwelcoming feeling IMO but not as much if it was just a plain jane concrete slab.

Random thought, but imagine how popular the waterfront line would be if the Browns stadium was domed, true fumble right there no pun intended. Also are the adding an awning of some sort? Is that what I'm seeing?

For some reason I dig the brown with the orange pants as well as the orange jersey.

Cleveland: Tremont: Development and News
^^^ While I'm glad to see new construction this is one of those times that I would have taken a tan colored building over this, and this also look very suburban IMO.

I don't know why I find it amusing that they have parking situated right next to the train station.

All of the banners seem to be up. No love for J.R, Moz, or Delly. Side Note: I just realized we don't wear the wine colored jersey's very often anymore.

Shame that we don't have that Sheriff St. market anymore that thing would have been great to use nowadays.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I get more peeved about team names that have nothing to do with the region or city. Outside of some generic mascots (Lions, Tigers, Bears, Warriors, Giants, Titans), team names like the "Cavaliers" seem pretty random and detached from their home cities and regions, to say nothing of Indians, Braves, Chiefs, Redskins. Similarly, I really don't like names that did have meaning in their original setting, but didn't change when the team moved; I'm looking at you, Lakers, Dodgers, Colts, Jazz. I had a dream last night of a Cavs finals sweep, got excited, woke up, then realized that it was a dream and got extremely sad for a few minutes!

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
I want to see a great authentic seafood restaurant that serves food and "feasts" such as the Crab Pot in Seattle. I feel a restaurant with this feel is missing in Cleveland especially downtown and would be great to have on the river. http://www.thecrabpotseattle.com/index

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
"The downtown lakefront was created using fill dirt from dredging. The state asserts that it owns the land beneath that dirt – land that used to form the bottom of Lake Erie. So Cleveland had to lease that underlying land from the state before striking surface-level lease deals with any developer." So basically the state owns the Lake Erie dirt? :-o :-o :wtf: :wtf: Uhhhh great investment?

But the Cavs were #5 in 3pt shooting in the regular season and post season, as well as a top 4 offense during the regular season.
