  2. Man if a family with a high school age child or an 8th grader moves in. They have the most convenient walk to school.
  3. I personally enjoy when national chains open up shop in the city. To me it shows confidence that the area is growing. I know not all are fans of Taco Bell, I'm not the biggest myself but I will surely check this out. 20170605_174534 by dwainross34, on Flickr 20170605_174528 by dwainross34, on Flickr
  4. Curious to see Prospect...
  5. Coming along nicely. I love the density. https://flic.kr/p/Tq1k2D
  6. I don't understand the lack of police statement. Cleveland has the most police per 10,000 residents in Ohio.
  7. I was confused about this comment until I remembered the racial tension from the past when it came to black people in Little Italy.
  8. Seeing them mention the issue with parking being across the street at the current store being a problem, in combination with the suburban style vision of Midtown, I hope that they still build the building up to the street and tuck the parking in the back.
  9. I've always thought Case had a great campus especially the buildings in and around it. So one beautiful day I decided to take a stroll around it and capture it all. 10. Concealed parking lots within or within walking distance of high crime neighborhoods are a poor idea. Ask pretty much any rank and file LEO. All the cameras in the world don't have the same impact as a cruiser passing by. How do you improve high crime neighborhoods? Improve the quality of construction as well as the demographic in it. The neighborhood is in the process of improving , as it continues to improve the construction and design should reflect that of an urban neighborhood. Having visible sprawling parking lots aren't urban IMO. It is important to get design right the first time so as the neighborhood increases in popularity we don't have to have discussion on having to hit the redo button on design.
  11. Wow commenters on Fresh Water Cleveland's sight are so much more optimistic that Cleveland.com. Someone did bring up a good point, I would have listed the Warehouse District project over either the 925 building or Centric. That project would be a legitimate game changer for that neighborhood.
  12. I was watching Fox 8 and saw buses driving through the square. I believe they said they are going through a trial test.
  13. The Galleria was doomed without an anchor. When Tower City lost its anchor, same problem. A Target here, like the one Columbus is getting near OSU, could serve as a retail anchor for all of downtown. If rent subsidies are needed to make it work then they're needed. Our inner city is not oversaturated with retail, rather it's dying for lack of access to retail. Doesn't matter how abundant it is at the edges of the county. A certain scale of it has to be present downtown for the city to meet its residents' needs. To me the thing that kills the momentum (as well as need in some eyes) for a Target downtown is having one (a rather large one at that) about 5-10 minutes away in the steelyard. Having a Walmart down there doesn't help the case for one either. IMO.
  14. I thought that Fourth Street Live! photo was a render for Cleveland at first lol. I am excited about the Shake Shack though. I always wanted to see what the hype was about but never had the means to travel to one. Exciting! How many Starbucks would this make downtown? Four? I believe three of them are about a 3-5 minute walk from each other. I don't know who has more stores between them and Subway downtown.
  15. I thought the same thing when I began reading your post. The most iconic buildings in Ohio isn't a landmark. Wow.
  16. I've searched but couldn't find any numbers on Clevelands estimated population for 2017, does anyone have them?
  17. Really not a fan of the cinder block foundation I cringe every time I ride past them. The bland color scheme doesn't help either.
  18. Nice pictures, great thread. Side question: Does Cincinnati require buildings to be built up to the sidewalk through their zoning code? It seems like most of their structures are built to the sidewalk. Lovely if they do require it.
  19. Wasn't sure if this project was announced on here so I decided to post it..... Yeah I love the vibrancy of the neighborhood. I've been meaning to get down here sooner just never had the chance. The density and non stop activity is a beautiful site.

1 - Washington D.C - Perfect mix of vibrancy, activity, transit access while not being overbearing like NYC. 2 - Atlanta GA - Perfect weather mix, a lot of stuff to do, but the traffic is AWFUL. 3 - New York City - Loved the vibrancy, activity and transit access but it was too crowded. 4 - Cleveland - Home 5 - Miami - Humidity killed me, made the trip less enjoyable

Decided to take a stroll around Little Italy and froze my butt off for the love of photography, enjoy.
  23. The public square from the 50s up until this recent renovation was nothing special. Mainly due to how wide the roads were.
  24. A revamped zoning code can't come fast enough.....
  25. Is the RTA going to install QC code scanners on the turnstiles at Tower City station. With so many people going through it's hard to get the attention of the turnstile operator and show the QC code on the RTA CLE app.
