Cleveland Browns Discussion
"Cleveland Browns' Rob Chudzinski targeting Chargers' John Pagano as his defensive coordinator, source confirms" He coached the Chargers to #9 in overall defense and #6 against the run, a good hire if the contract situation can get solved...he runs a 3-4 though. http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2013/01/cleveland_browns_rob_chudzinsk.html#incart_river_default

Cleveland: East Side Neighborhood Development
I mentioned arbor village before, but mclovin seems to think is public housing or that the people who live there are low income. Yes I did and after I found out what it really was I took back my statement and got on board with it.

Cleveland's Tower City Center - declining or realigning to its market?
This stands out to me, do you think FC tried to hit a home run maybe too early or attracted too many luxury brands instead of creating a balance between luxury and middle end? I read on a forum not sure of it was this one or not that people didn't really shop they just wanted to look in amazement at what was there. Do you think that was a blunder or misstep on FC's part from the beginning?

East Cleveland: News & Discussion
I agree with the UC part and I believe that can POSSIBLY lead to some UC development down superior avenue starting at 125th down to 105th and superior to connect what they have with heritage lane already along with what hough is set to become starting with the Upper Chester development. Going this route will allow them to create a larger more viable neighborhood that doesn't have gaps which is the issue now with Cleveland neighborhoods... Superior from 125th to 105th has so many development opportunities because of empty lots already (110th and 108th pop in my head immediately) and abandoned storefronts that its ripe for development.

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
I have a question which may be a little off topic. I see in articles the former BP building is still called 200 public square, I thought Huntington got the naming rights when they moved there or am I mistaken?

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
Question? doesn't amtrust financial services already have a building going down 9th? Or is that another financial building I'm thinking of? If they do have a building down 9th are they expanding or just relocating somewhere else?

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
I don't know if this has been reported but this restaurant named B 2 B will be opening on 19th and Euclid Avenue on January 17th. The restaurant makes bizarre burgers such as Grilled Cheese burgers, Huge burger patties with donuts as a bun and things along those lines. Should be a hit with the college kids.

Cleveland: East Side Neighborhood Development
Actually what's going back at Cedar Estates will be less dense that what was built in the 1930's. City Architecture recently did a master plan for this area, I haven't seen it yet though. The initial goal was to put some market rate apartments mixed in with the subsidized public housing, similar to what's done at Tremont Pointe. Some thought the area could support it, since it's on the fringe of downtown, sandwiched between CSU & Tri-C. We'll see. If that's the case then I support it but just having public housing outright is bad in my eyes but that's just me being from the east side and tired of seeing the same old thing over and over. If a different approach like this is happening though I support it

East Cleveland: News & Discussion
With the East Cleveland city council cutting police shifts from 14 to 4 officers per shift with one serving as a dispatcher and the city being designated as being in fiscal emergency, what do you think the future holds for the once great suburb?

Cincinnati: Downtown: Mabley Place (formerly Tower Place Mall)
Wow that's amazing! Did the mall have stores along the lines of what Tower City had when it opened? Not really. Tower Place is much smaller than Tower City. But in its heyday, Tower Place (and the adjoining Carew Tower arcade) had Victoria Secret, Banana Republic, FYE, Foot Locker, the Nature Company, Structure, Williams-Sonoma, Express, Brentano's, TJMaxx (still there, with separate access from the mall), Morton's The Steakhouse (still downtown, but no longer at the mall), a watch store or two and a decent food court. Tower city should have approached more modest retailers like this (Except TJ Maxx) when it opened instead of shooting for New York style shopping throughout. My question is in Tower Place malls heyday was the downtown area a hot place to live like it is now and how was the surrounding area around downtown? Was the surrounding 5-10 mile area an area that would shop at Express, Banana Republic etc. or was it a lower income area? I ask this because that's one of the areas Tower City messed up at (along with aiming for too high end of shopping when the area regardless of downtown pop. couldn't support it) Also was downtown viewed as a "Safe Place" to shop in during the malls heyday because that subculture in Tower City that started to come around played a factor in driving people away, so I want to know was this the same thing in Tower Place.

According to ESPN Norv is not a lock he has interest from other teams like Dallas but they said we offer him something other teams can't.....the ability to coach with his son Scott

Cleveland: East Side Neighborhood Development
No it's not it just creates a never ending cycle if we want the surrounding downtown area to thrive and the income level to rise why aren't we building ACTUAL TOWNHOMES! Why does the west side get nice homes while the east gets new projects? I get tired of seeing the same type of "development" occur. It's just like how outside of UC or downtown the largest east side development was a jail. C'mon now how about equal gentrification on both sides we all know the West side already has more stable neighborhoods that's why they only lost 9% of their pop. while the east side lost 22%. How about building homes/apartments that will attract new people to make things even?

I just wanted a proven coach this time around instead of a crap shoot with an OC turned coach again it would have given me more hope....but I will root for whoever is on the sidelines.......GO BROWNS!!!

Cleveland's Tower City Center - declining or realigning to its market?
When I looked at the TRUE original plans for tower city which were apartments attached I believe that would have prevented such a large dip in quality of stores lets be real a Switzerland store or Gucci wouldn't have stayed but Banana Republic, Abercrombie, the WB store, Gap probably would still be there if the original plans with apartments were used instead of just a hotel and office space.

- Cleveland's Tower City Center - declining or realigning to its market?
Hey!!! it's "Lids" and I take offense to that since I work there :P But aside from being a worker there that is a necessary store that needs to be there, because you have the 3 major sports arenas around it so fans always come down right before the game and buy their favorite teams hats or apparel. The people who buy are also a variant of the lower class to middle class with some sprinkles of rich(ish). You also have the sports players and musicians come down to buy hats. That is necessary now if you said Villa or Glitter I would have agreed as they only draw one demographic.- Cleveland's Tower City Center - declining or realigning to its market?
This is true and I have said before that Tower City doesn't have to get Banana Republic back or Gucci, BUT looking at the middle end store on 4th street (CLE Clothing) and its success. I believe Tower City should be trying to attract middle end stores with shirts that the average joe can afford but would draw a crowd from the other areas outside of Downtown as well and it would be successful. That's the trick though so many malls have the same stores so if Tower City gets the same that wont draw any new traffic because they shoppers have the stores in their own backyard. They have to maybe reach to middle end stores that are popular in other cities but aren't everywhere like Hollister's, Johnston & Murphy, etc.- Cleveland's Tower City Center - declining or realigning to its market?
I read an article about tenants leaving tower city back in 2008 and the amount of well known Tenants leaving that year was alarming. The thing that stuck out to me was the general manager Lisa Kreiger saying that tower city will begin pursuing local retailers instead of national ones and I wonder if they have been doing that all this time up until now since that article was written. If they have that explains so many things but shows tower city is shortsighted and isn't interested in the long term dollar that National chains would attract. http://blog.cleveland.com/business/2008/03/store_lineup_changes_again_at.html- Cleveland's Tower City Center - declining or realigning to its market?
Well this gives a place to talk about those issues instead of getting away from what the tower city thread is about which DEVELOPMENT not Decline. If this gets locked though so be it I thought just making this would give a place to specifically talk about Tower City issues and ways to fix it but hey ok. - Cleveland's Tower City Center - declining or realigning to its market?
