Cincinnati: Downtown: Mabley Place (formerly Tower Place Mall)
Wow that's amazing! Did the mall have stores along the lines of what Tower City had when it opened?

Cleveland: 2014 Gay Games IX News & Discussion
The comments on the picture are so shortsighted and small minded that it's shameful. I see no problem with the colors being shown on our most prestigious building, I think it's great that Cleveland is fully embracing the games as they get closer.

Cleveland's Tower City Center - declining or realigning to its market?
I don't know if someone made a thread like this but I didn't see it. My question is what do you think led to the major Decline of Tower City Center? Was it the lack of residential when it opened, the management, or something else? The more important question is can it be salvaged, if so how? Do any of you think that the mall should be repurposed for something else and have the last remaining National/ Popular quality local chains scattered throughout the empty downtown storefronts? (This is my vote)

Cincinnati: Downtown: Mabley Place (formerly Tower Place Mall)
Hello I have a question would you all say Tower Place Mall is worse off right now than Tower City in Cleveland? I would be surprised if it was. For those not familiar with Tower City it opened in '91 and was a former Train Station converted to a shopping center/mall. At its opening it had a D I S N E Y Store (Then it was the only one outside of Orlando) WB store, Banana Republic, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, stores from directly Switzerland, Gap, Abercrombie (Before it was in every suburban mall), Charlotte Rouse, Brooks Brothers (Still there) and other high end, prestigious stores. Nowadays times are completely different with stores like Rainbow, Claire's, Glitter, Knock off Jewelry Stores, (For those unfamiliar with those stores they are FAAAR from high end) Footlocker, Champs, cheap suit stores, Dario Fashion Groups etc. Like I said the mall has seen MUCH better days, the mall though isn't empty as its about 90-92% leased and people still visit for the festivities inside but don't shop at the stores. Majority of the week you can hear your echo. Going back to the question how is the condition of Tower Place compared to Tower City.

Cleveland: Downtown: The 9 / Rotunda / County Admin Development
"Cuyahoga consultant says competing bidder for new HQ is off by $41 million" CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Debate over the best deal for Cuyahoga County's new government headquarters continued Tuesday when the county's real estate consultant poked holes in a developer's claim that his proposal is $34 million cheaper than the favored plan. Last week, Optima Ventures, a downtown property owner and developer vying to build the headquarters in the former Huntington Building, which it owns, told county council his proposal is at least $34 million cheaper than county Executive Ed FitzGerald's recommendation that Geis Cos. of Streetsboro build a headquarters at the mothballed Ameritrust complex across the street. On Tuesday, Ryan Jeffers of CBRE Group Inc., the county's real estate consultant, told the council that the Optima analysis was off by at least $41 million. CBRE says Optima's largest errors were in estimating operating expenses and parking costs, which were miscalculated by $30.3 million. In all, the county and its consultant found 16 errors in Optima's calculation, according to Jeffers' presentation to the council. Cleveland Browns Discussion
Marc Trestman was the Browns' QB coach in 1988 and offensive coordinator in 1989. He was the OC for only one year, however. The reason is that in 1989, the Browns offense declined from its previous potency in 1986-88 under offensive guru Lindy Infante. While the Browns offense performed better toward the end of 1989 due to the improvement of the offensive line (protecting the pure pocket passer Bernie Kosar), it wasn't enough to save Trestman's job. He was replaced the following year by Jim Shofner, architect of the Browns "Kardiac Kids" offensive attack in which Brian Sipe threw for 4,000 yards in 1980. But that magic didn't return in 1990. Head Coach Bud Carson (former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive genius from the 1970s) was fired and Shofner served as interim head coach until Bill Belichick was hired the next year. So Trestman had a bad experience in his short stint with the Cleveland Browns. But the team was suffering from declining talent and injuries on the offensive line that negatively impacted Kosar's performance until toward the end of the season when the O-line got healthier and played better. Kosar stands by Trestman and believes he would be a good hire as HC. I doubt he would be willing to come back to the NFL unless he was a HC. While he may be an offensive guru he probably was that talented in the 80s and 90s the game has drastically changed and being in the CFL for a while doesn't make things much better in my eyes at least..

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Talks of the Browns pursuing Jon Gruden are surfacing, also the Plain Dealer is reporting that the Browns plan to pursue Bruce Arians as well. The head scratchier comes in with talks of the Browns interviewing Montreal Alouettes coach Marc Trestman, anyone heard of this team or coach because I haven't.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Actually I think Cleveland already realized this Chris Mortenson from ESPN reported that the Browns are continuing their search for a coach without Chip Kelly in the mix and this was reported about 20 minutes ago. I do agree that he seems to love the chase and was never intending to leave...how selfish but anyway the search continues!! :)

Marone must be special because the Bills interviewed Lovie and picked Marone over him....I honestly hope that he pics the Eagles (Apparently the favorites due to the type of players they have) and we get a coach with experience (Smith, Whisenhunt, Arians in that order)

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Cleveland Browns meeting with Oregon's Chip Kelly tonight, "Be ready for something to happen today'' source says CLEVELAND -- The Browns will meet again with Oregon coach Chip Kelly tonight in Arizona and hope to reach an agreement by the end of the meeting that will make him their 14th fulltime head coach. Mortensen said today that one issue for Kelly with the Browns is their uncertain quarterback situation. The Browns have Brandon Weeden, Colt McCoy and Thad Lewis all under contract, but Kelly apparently doesn't see his man in the bunch. "If he becomes their coach, one consensus has been reached,'' Mortensen said. "The Browns don't have their quarterback of the future on the roster.'' If that's true, the Browns will look for a starter in the draft, free agency or through a trade. http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2013/01/cleveland_browns_meeting_with_1.html#incart_2box

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
If all the rail stations besides tower city (and maybe the Airport I'm not sure) don't have the turnstiles anymore how can RTA accurately determine how many people rode the rapid this year? I regularly ride the rapid and NEVER see the RTA police on board enforcing the rules for people sneaking on. The same question goes for the Healthline on the beginning stages on the bus line the police regularly got on but I don't see them nearly as much. So as I stated before without an obvious way (in my eyes) to get an accurate count with especially with people getting on fare free how do you get an accurate count of Red Line and HL riders?

US Urban Areas - 2010 Census
What do you all think Cleveland propers population # will be when the bleeding stops it has to stop sometime. In 2010 we had 396,000 people roughly and in 2011 we had around 393,000 people a drop of 0.8% so we would be at around 361,560 in 2020 if that stays consistent. I believe at around 350,000 the turnaround will occur.

So I'm guessing when your land area goes up that's a bad thing and indicates buildings and homes being torn down?

Cleveland Browns Discussion
28. I started following the Browns in the early-mid 90s. In my mind, the old days were Eric Metcalf, Vinnie Testaverde and MDP. Just my own opinion, but I actually do like the cartoon Brownie as it is. I do not like the bulldog logo that seems the be favored. Haha I'm 20 my definition of the old days as a fan are Tim Couch, William Green, Dennis Northcutt, Courtney Brown, oh and can't forget "Big Money" Gerard Warren. I do like the Brownie as is but I would like to see how a revised one would look. I feel that we will get a logo eventually

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Maybe it's since I wasn't a browns fan in the glory days or whatever but I wouldn't mind a helmet logo but if we were to have a logo I would prefer a revised brownie elf...maybe make him look tougher. (Don't rip me apart :) )
