  1. I would think so, that was supposed to be developed as part of "Varsity Village", though I'm not sure if it is part of "The Langston". Isn't The Langston apart of their "north campus" development?
  2. I always thought the Gateway District was odd as it is vastly undeveloped which you see when you are coming off the freeway and is a surprise because of what is around there....
  3. I was riding past E.123rd and Superior where the old Tops was and the new Save-A-Lot is and noticed that WXZ development is building a new Advanced Auto Parts store on the other half of that large parking lot.
  4. I also like this but I'm not sure if I would like LRV's on the Red Line. I'm not a rail expert so can someone tell me will LRV'S hold up over time like HRV's?
  5. This is a very intriguing slide that I hope happens because Euclid Avenue could use a rail line because majority of the Red Line stops are so out of the way that it holds back what ridership could actually be if they were on a street like Euclid.
  6. I'm not saying he can't, not by any means, but comaparing to different markets and products is comparing apples to oranges. Until he answers we wont know. I'm not comparing I'm just using Intesa because they had just released theirs and I also used it as an example so people clearly would understand what I'm talking about. I'm not comparing the two by any means, with Intesa releasing theirs it just got me curious about FEB numbers.
  7. They can't simply add cars if the Station is a fix length. So in order to add more cars RTA would then have to reconstruct every stations. Well I'm just speaking on the East Side Superior, MAYBE East 120, East 79th, hopefully the new UC Station, East 55th, East 30th, Tower City, and Windermere stations can support 3 or more cars so that is majority of them and I think RTA is constructing stations to all be like that so they can just add cars...
  8. Medical mart snags Johnson Controls, third paying tenant CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Cuyahoga County's medical mart reached a deal today with a third tenant -- Johnson Controls, a Milwaukee-based technology company. The firm has agreed to lease 3,000 square feet at the downtown Cleveland mart, and to build a showroom that demonstrates how heating and cooling equipment, nurse call buttons and other systems can run on the same hospital network. "Our problem is, if we want to show a customer where we've done this, it requires us going to a working hospital," said Jim Dagley, vice president of marketing and strategy for Johnson Controls. "It's a bunch of people trying to look above the ceiling, behind the walls. It's really disruptive for us to go through a working hospital to try to showcase this." The company was one of 60 firms to show interest in the medical mart -- part of a $465-million, taxpayer-financed convention center complex -- during the groundbreaking at the downtown mall in January 2011. http://www.cleveland.com/medicalmart/index.ssf/2012/11/medical_mart_snags_johnson_con.html#incart_river_default
  9. Anyone know the rent per square footage for FEB? I ask because Intesa is asking for $36 Per sq. ft and got curious.
  10. Yes the guy told me December-January
  11. At the Kent State game I ran into the manager that runs the University Circle chipotle and he said that he is about to run the one downtown when it opens. I asked him for an opening date and he said December-January.
  12. Makes enough sense especially with the building color and funky window design
  13. Does anyone have a wide view picture of the downtown skyline with the new Ernst and Young Tower included in it?
  14. Looking at the design more I prefer this over the FEB version, it has more color
  15. Is this a standard design for Aloft because this looks like the Flats East Bank version
  16. I think the entire project is boring, dull, an uninspiring and the money for it could have been used wiser.
  17. It's coming along and is almost done...the fencing is down
  18. So what's the status on the updated Red Line cars? I'm anxious to see them!!!!! :-P
  19. Try Google for a Streetview or birdseye view. Were you born there? Worked there? Why is it part of your past? I was born there its tragic that its gone
  20. Mt. Sinai Hospital Can't Get A Recent Picture Though
  21. Sooo there really has been no new TC news in 2 months? I find that to be amazing
  22. K&D Group will close Embassy Suites hotel in downtown Cleveland, convert it to apartments CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The K&D Group Inc. will close downtown Cleveland's Embassy Suites hotel in December and return the building to its original use -- apartments. The transformation also will cost 100 people their jobs. Tucked into K&D's massive Reserve Square apartment complex on East 12th Street, the Embassy Suites is one of downtown's better-performing hotels, experts say. Yet the 252-suite property slid into foreclosure in November, thanks to a heavy debt load, high operating costs and a recession that hurt hospitality operators across the country. Now K&D, based in Willoughby, has found a solution. On Friday, the company bought out its delinquent mortgage on the hotel and secured financing for a $3 million apartment makeover. That transformation will add 232 apartments to a downtown hungry for rental housing. And for K&D, the largest private owner of apartments in Northeast Ohio, it's a logical transition. http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2012/10/kd_group_will_close_embassy_su.html#incart_river_default
  23. The HL in my opinion didn't work out as planned. I only take it when absolutely necessary (when the Red Line is down) or I have an important thing on Euclid.) I find it to be entirely to slow (40 minutes to get to Windermere from downtown as opposed to 17 minutes vs. the rapid) I feel as if the RTA or the city needs to work on a synchronization of the traffic lights to allow the bus to flow easier. When you have one green light then one red light right after throughout the entire route it's quite frustrating and leaves more to be desired.
  24. yes. 1 car is currently being outfitted and then will be tested for comments and then all red line cars will be have interiors redone. - basically it will be the same color scheme as the blue/green line cars with gray walls/ceiling, dark gray flooring, and use the same or very similar seats to the blue/green line cars. - all new windows - all fluorescent lights will be replaced by LEDs with new plastic lenses - some seats will be removed at the ends of the cars to provide additional space for wheelchairs/bikes/luggage - trashcans are being added to the cars - working on possibly having digital destination signs in each car, but communications problems between cars and limited weathertight connections between cars may prevent this - no plans to update speaker system or to add a digital stop sign within the cars, but this may change there may be some kind of public display in the next few months to get rider feedback before all of the cars are done. expected timeline was over the next year to complete the project. overall, it should look and function much better. I feel like the digital destination signs are the most important think tbh. I say this because if you sit in quite a few red line trains the destination sign is either blank or white so this will solve that issue and a digital stop sign within the car like the healthline would be beneficial for riders as well and shouldn't be forgotten about to bring the cars into the 21st century. Also you said it will have the same color scheme as the Blue/Green line so will the outside be painted Grey/Blue as well?
