  1. Condo building planned in Cleveland's Little Italy, near Murray Hill School complex (photos) CLEVELAND, Ohio – Local investors are planning a five-story condominium building in Cleveland's Little Italy neighborhood, anticipating demand from downsizing suburbanites who don't necessarily want to jump on the rental bandwagon. Bluewater Capital Partners, LLC, has signed a deal to buy a low-slung industrial building at 2044 Random Road, northwest of the red brick Murray Hill School complex. On Thursday, the Cleveland Landmarks Commission approved Bluewater's request to demolish the older building and replace it with a 26-unit condo project that might open in late spring of 2018. Pricing could start at $475,000 and top out at $765,000, with most of the condos falling in the mid-$500,000s to mid-$600,000s. Units will range from 2,100 to 3,000 square feet. http://realestate.cleveland.com/realestate-news/2016/10/condo_building_planned_in_clev.html#incart_river_mobileshort_home
  2. ONE. MORE. GAME.
  3. You don't even have to get that detailed in the differences, we simply don't even have traffic lights that are placed in that orientation.
  4. The Car Stereos at 3 am I completely understand the complaints, that is ridiculous. Shortening street performers hours when the already were to be done at 11pm at the latest is kind of silly to me especially when it's the way some people depend on to eat or obtain necessary items. I understand the point of quality of life but it's not like the performers were singing or playing instruments until 4 am. I see 10-11pm as a reasonable time. Maybe I'm an anomaly. I need noise to go to sleep.
  5. Didn't know where to put this but I thought this was pretty ridiculous. You chose to live DOWNTOWN, noise comes with it. You live in a city not Westlake. Cleveland City Council considering limiting street performances to 10 p.m. on weekends, 9 p.m. on week nights Cleveland street performers could have to pack up their instruments and microphones two hours earlier on weekdays and an hour earlier on weekends if City Council approves legislation presented by Councilman Kerry McCormack. Street performers would be allowed to perform from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, according to the ordinance. Street performances would be allowed from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. during special events, parades and festivals. Sports games are not considered one of those events. "When there was very loud, amplified music at 11 p.m. on a Monday or Tuesday, [residents] were really being sleep deprived and it affected their work because of that," McCormack said. "There are almost 15,000 folks living downtown, and they also deserve the high quality of life we seek in our other neighborhoods." http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2016/10/cleveland_city_council_conside_2.html
  6. Anyone notice the new trains on the 6th rendering? Do they know something we don't? Lol :drunk:  EDIT: "At a public forum last April, some Shaker residents harshly criticized the still-emerging Bialosky designs as too modern and not traditional enough for the suburb." Ugh. Learn to embrace change.
  7. I really was just curious as to how much land in square miles is left that can be available for housing/commercial use. I always wondered how many square miles of land highways took up in Cleveland proper. Weird? Maybe. Pointless? Maybe. But it interested me but never knew how to find it. Thank you for telling me that answer though...
  8. I'm not sure where to place this question and it may not seem like a good question to some but when the square miles of Cleveland's land was determined (77.7 sq.mi) i'm certain that includes the highway for the city proper. That being said when it comes to livable land the amount of square milage surely shrinks to a smaller level which would boost the density numbers to higher that the 4994. My only question is how many square miles of land does the highway cover? Does anyone know because I couldn't find anything on it. I would guess the amount of land that isn't covered by the highway is about 60-65 sq. miles.

You just can't make this stuff up. Another blown chance at a W we could have been 3-1 right now. I feel like I just watch the browns now for the love of the sport and not the team.
  10. I.M, Pei? The same man behind the Rock Hall? I haven't glanced at his portfolio but now I am curious to see his overall work. EDIT: Glanced at his work and a good number of his buildings are very concrete heavy. He seems to go through design phases. The rock hall has a design is very similar to a few of his other buildings across the globe. SIDE NOTE: I never knew he wasn't happy with the Rock Hall design.
  11. ^ I googled the two buildings mentioned and I wish I didn't. My god those buildings are hideous. How do let a city hall building look so ugly? It also seems incredibly isolated. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
  12. I understand the complaint but if we had a more robust transit system that was supported politically and could then be expanded this parking discussion wouldnt be a major issue. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk

  14. The planning commission gave early, conceptual design approval to the project in July but asked Stark and the architects, Boston-based Nadaaa and Westlake Reed Leskosky of Cleveland, to come back with more details and look more closely at the integration of the glass-paneled garage and the metal-clad tower. Updated images show that Stark plans to remove the color – a reddish-pink – from the garage and spruce up the retail spaces along Euclid Avenue. The tower will float above the 524-space parking structure, separated by both its design and illumination. "We anticipate lighting the underbelly of the building, which we think really enhances the glass that's already there on the garage," said Rebecca Hegyes, Stark's director of development. "Instead of trying to make the garage like the building, I think we're choosing to enhance the garage."
  15. Seems as though the renovation of FYE either didn't happen or was delayed as the tarp is gone but the store looks the same. Oh well. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
  16. Is that because they want to see if they can get certain financial packages from a presidential candidate. Holding out to see if a presidential candidate would give projects like theirs increased funding? Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk

  19. The city is drowning in failure and corruption the fact that Cleveland is willing to throw them a life raft is something East Cleveland should be thankful for. I have Gary Nortons contact information I will more than likely give him a ring to gain insight on his councils thinking here. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
  20. Cleveland Council president rejects East Cleveland merger proposal CLEVELAND - Recently, East Cleveland City Council presented an ordinance to the City of Cleveland to start merger discussions. Cleveland City Council president Kevin Kelley rejected the proposal, but said he is still open to talks about a future merger. “Our Council will take no action under the conditions proposed by the East Cleveland City Council,” Kelley said in a release. http://fox8.com/2016/08/25/cleveland-council-president-rejects-east-cleveland-merger-proposal/ Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
  21. Looking at those demands they might as well remain their own municipality. This is ridiculous. Edit: If I'm reading correctly Cleveland will appoint their people to sit down and negotiate with EC? Which means that not all of these demands necessarily need to be met? Am I wrong or at least close? Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk

  24. I wonder if they would try to put food court type establishments in the empty store fronts around TC. Although the food court isn't the best people still want a place to grab a quick place to eat. When I worked down there people didn't even want to walk to 4th for things. So I wonder if Gilbert will place food establishments outside of the complex where he still can profit, while freeing up space in the mall. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
  25. So a mall with no food court? That's odd but interesting. Excited to hear about a theater overhaul but hopefully they do have some mid range affordable stores for the average Joe to shop at (American Eagle, H&M type budget). If they don't I cant afford to shop there! Lol but I'm still Excited though! Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk
