  1. What's wrong with the park like design?
  2. So basically if Cleveland goes with the park design (I'll post an image later) that the part that is by superior will be raised like an arch so cars can ride under it while Ontario will be closed? If this is the image I'm thinking of I'm in favor of the "connected park" design is my favorite out of the designs I saw.
  3. I'm not being a smart-ass when I say this, but if there were any news, you can bet your last dollar, someone would post that information here or in the Cleveland retail thread. Can I get a link to that thread?
  4. Any news on stores trying to open or coming to TC?
  5. Quick question what happened to the fountain steaming up and dancing to music? I haven't seen that happened in a while...
  6. I also asked people in Dredgers Union were they expanding and they told me no as well
  7. All they told me was its a place to store tools and I asked "so nothing is going in here?" and the workers said no because no one purchased the space yet.
  8. I have a bit of bad news I saw construction workers working on the store next to Dredgers Union and asked what was going on. They told me the space is nothing but storage for there tools and no one bought the space yet so oh well to that. Also I walked past the infamous wooden store and didn't see a sign announcing a Chipotle moving in so idk what's happening with that situation either.
  9. I have a question, with the recent increase in rail ridership I believe there is a possibility that RTA adds a third car per trip. My question/concern is it seems as if a nice number of stations only have enough space for two cars (105th and Quincy, Superior etc.) so do you think RTA is going through a construction of all new rail stations that can hold up to at least 4 cars per station? I say this because of the construction of E. 55th Station which seems to be able to allow a large number of cars, the potential construction of Mayfield station, and Puritas station (correct me if I'm wrong) and it seems as if this needs to be done.
  10. Well even with the Marine week the traffic and parking increase has been noted by FC during their Q & A that was posted earlier and have begun looking at the demographics of who is their to shop so they can attract stores. So like you said even because of Marine Week the increase is obvious.
  11. Not a major thing but still important none the less..... Massive machine to soon begin building sewage treatment tunnel in Cleveland CLEVLEAND - Let the drilling begin! On Monday morning, crews with the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD) began lowering "Mackenzie," a 320,000 pound, 500-foot long boring machine, in place to drill a new three-mile long sewer tunnel. Once completed, the tunnel is expected to hold 52 million gallons of storm and wastewater before that water is treated and sent into Lake Erie. "After it's in place, Mackenzie will be attached to the main drive unit of the tunnel boring machine and then it will be moved into a starter tunnel, before being ready for operation," explained Doug Gabriel, Construction Program Manager for NEORSD in a news release. That tunnel boring machine will dig about 50-75 feet per day. Using more conventional drilling methods, that amount of distance would take about a week. Not only does the tunnel-boring machine move dirt, it also builds the pipe as it goes through the 27-foot diameter tunnel. The Euclid Creek Tunnel will start in Bratenahl, south of Interstate 90, and continue northeast to the district's Easterly Wastewater Treatment Plant. There, the tunnel will continue under Lake Erie for about 3,000 feet and pass under the shoreline near Green Creek at E. 152nd Street. The tunnel will then head east, following Lake Shore Boulevard and Nottingham Road, and end at St. Clair Avenue. 12. Well this just goes to show that Tower City traffic is on the upswing because this is only MONDAY! I can't wait until they finish studying the demographics of who's shopping and visiting their. Especially since a huge storefront has become vacant recently I'm super excited! :-D
  13. In the spot that has looked like crap for way to long? If so, awesome! The plywood store is actually next to the Jimmy Johns and Sometimes in the Silence

  18. RTA riders in Cleveland can soon track arrivals of buses and trains RTA finally getting this feature and keeping up with the times!!! CLEVELAND, Ohio — RTA riders -- even those waiting at a stop -- will soon be able to use smart phones and other devices to find out when the next train or bus really will arrive. The Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority plans to launch the service June 18 on its Web site, riderta.com. By using NextConnect, riders can select a route, stop and direction to find out when the next bus or train will arrive. NextConnect users can also call up a route on Google Maps and track where the bus or train is located. By clicking on a stop, they can check arrivals. Riders can sign up for an email notice on arrival times too. A text-message service won't be available at the start but should be ready down the road, officials said. http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2012/06/post_26.html
  19. When Rhodes tower was built wasn't there a sort of controversy over the high rise being built? I remember watching the video about the downfall of Downtown Cleveland and how building were getting demolished left and right. I also remember something being said over the construction on Rhodes tower and how there was some type of controversy but can't pinpoint it exactly
  20. And that's the exact reason I don't care for this being built I wish something better would be there... Like what? A Starbucks? No but something that isn't a dollar store because one is a block away but I didn't know dollar stores boomed until I saw the story KJP posted so I guess it makes sense. :|
  21. And that's the exact reason I don't care for this being built I wish something better would be there...
  22. Yaaaay a Dollar General..... :weird:
  23. For what purpose? If it is to serve as a unique pedestrian/bike crossing of the valley, that might be worth something. But if it is serve as a transit alignment, then where would the transit go? What kind of transit? If the transit represents new service (in terms of added vehicle-hours in service), then were does the operating funding come from? There are no track that connects to Tower City or at least runs to a track that eventually run to TC? Also I was thinking light rail (blue/green) and MAYBE red line if the structure allows it ... The question about for what purpose I have no answer for yet but to serve pedestrians/bikers crossing the valley could work. The operating funding could stay the say just redirect the trains direction.
