Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Quick FYI: looks like the posted link is the J&F story in the stockyards thread, not the mansion story. The article contains multiple projects that were approved for tax credits, including the mansion. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
Visited yesterday, and it is BEAUTIFUL! I did see the dead grass and it kind of detracted from the beautiful green area, hopefully that can get remedied. Here are a few pics (Just cell phone pics). I really like how the seating of the green area lines up perfectly with Terminal Tower it provides a great view, well done. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk

Superior Avenue or Superior Road? I don't recall apartments on the Avenue side of Euclid. Superior Rd, my mistake. The apartments were to the right of the plaza when coming from the Cleveland side of Superior. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk Iirc, I thought more apartments were coming in there Well that is great to hear. Hopefully they maintain a similar presence the previous apartments did. I really enjoyed those. Edit: Never mind I pictured them incorrectly, that wall shouldn't had been there. Maybe it was a security thing. Here's the apartment.... Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk

Does anyone know what is going on at the corner of Euclid and Superior Avenue where those now demolished light brick apartments used to sit? I rode past there yesterday and saw a foundation installed and was confused. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Could it be that they didn't run 3 car trains on the Blue/Green line because of a shortage of supply? Since they are short on supply they probably ran 1 car trains to make service more frequent. If you put all of your eggs in one basket (3 cars at once) the frequency would slow down. The same ideal goes for the Red line. That possibly was their thinking. In regards to the Cuyahoga resident discount I would have to say that would be a bad idea (no disrespect). Cuyahoga residents are the main users of the bus and rail and RTA depends on fares to help fill their financial shortfalls. So if a financially struggling transit agency cuts fares for its main users then they will simply be digging an even larger hole for themselves. Just my thoughts. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk

Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
When are they getting new buses for them? Usually it's around 12 years when they replace them but due to the high usage of them I don't think they'll make it. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk

Just like the entire state I went down to the championship parade. While I was down there I decided to snap some photos. Feel free to add to it as well! I've never experienced the Browns heartbreak, or Indians heartbreak so this game will be THE MOST STRESSFUL GAME I'VE EXPERIENCED!!!!! I get stressed over a regular season game, this will be intensified x1,000,000! UGH! Part of me wants to watch and experience the entire game 7 experience but part of me wants to flip back and forth to save my heart.

Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
Building the economy around oil production seems almost as risky nowadays as building it around manufacturing. I would call an oil-based economy risky. But I wouldn't call a manufacturing based economy as risky. Cyclical, maybe. Fair enough.... Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I can live with Steph Curry OR Klay Thompson scoring points as long as the other teammates are being shut down. Obviously try to shut Curry or Thompson down but if ONE of them is on fire then just shut out the rest of the team, they won't win the game by themselves.

Popular Cleveland script signs to be installed at three postcard-worthy spots (photos) CLEVELAND, Ohio – Destination Cleveland, Cuyahoga County's convention and visitors bureau, is planting its popular Cleveland script signs at three postcard-worthy locations. The installations are an outgrowth of the agency's "This is Cleveland" promotional campaign, launched in 2014. The idea is to stoke local pride and provide spots where visitors will snap selfies and pictures of friends and relatives and share the resulting images through social media. The first Cleveland sign will be installed at Edgewater Park on Tuesday at a spot with a skyline view. http://www.cleveland.com/architecture/index.ssf/2016/06/popular_cleveland_script_signs.html#incart_gallery

Cleveland: Midtown: Development and News
City Planning Commission approves early designs for University Hospitals clinic in Midtown (photos) CLEVELAND, Ohio – The city's planning commission on Friday approved early-stage "schematic" plans for the new University Hospitals Rainbow Center for Women & Children in the city's MidTown area. The $24 million, 40,000-square-foot facility, which will function as an outpatient health care center for OB/GYN and pediatrics amid low-income neighborhoods located to the north and south, is scheduled for construction starting this fall and could be completed in 2017, a hospital spokesperson said. Geis and Bowen both urged University Hospitals to provide more details as the project design evolves to ensure that it encourages residents in nearby neighborhoods to walk to the facility, as well as to arrive by bus. The last part is encouraging to see. Hopefully changes come for the next round of designs that truly encourage walkability and transit usage. Also the Link 59 plaza from Geis looks pretty cool, I like that he wants to ensure continuity with his project by having UH's greenery echo the his projects greenery. http://www.cleveland.com/architecture/index.ssf/2016/06/city_planning_commission_appro_3.html#incart_river_home

Cleveland: Marketing the City
Interesting and pleasantly surprising to see how much Cleveland stacks up with a bigger market like Philly. Whether it's eateries, national rankings, attractions or even history it's cool to see Cleveland hold its own. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk

Yes. See the project description that Clefan98 posted. This is what I get for not reading thoroughly lol. This type of thing needs to become a standard. I feel as though E.120th street station could have benefited greatly from that, albeit a slightly different situation. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk

Is there a possibility that the developers of these buildings close to rapid transit could work with RTA or vice-versa to offer incentive to catch the train? Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk

Cleveland: Midtown: Development and News
I really hate how the land in midtown is being used... The city could at least have some form of retail or some type of pedestrian generating idea to make parts seem active. I understand the vision they are going for, but this is still a city, not chagrin Highlands, WE NEED ACTIVITY. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk

First time I've ever seen the original building. I always thought that this was a new construction, especially since the first time I saw this building was like in 2008-9. Shame.

Only thing that would hurt me is seeing those once beautiful brick homes that line side streets possibly torn down. If Cleveland were to take it over I would want to hold out hope that those could be restored, Cleveland has a shortage of large brick homes like that.
