That comment was made by Julie Matheny, who is the Executive Director of the Springdale Chamber of Commerce. She is also a frequent subject of Jeff Capell's attacks on his blog, whose address I won't print. It will be interesting to learn more about this story. Between Matheny's comment regarding the incident(s) at the Blue Ash Rec Center and the rantings on Capell's blog, we can surmise that the guy has some major issues regarding women. Just tonight there were several extremely distasteful comments made about Kate Crossen on that blog. Kate has been another frequent target of attacks on that site, to the point that it seems she's being stalked by a real creep. COAST only further discredits itself (if that's possible) by allowing a nutter like Jeff Capell to be involved with their group and turning him into one of their core poster boys.

Finney's seething hatred for the City of Cincinnati, Mayor Mallory and the streetcar is palpable in that video. Thanks for posting it. Also, as Jake posted in another thread, it appears that COAST is not going to circulate a petition in Blue Ash after all: http://cincinnati.com/blogs/northeastnotes/2012/08/15/blue-ash-airport-park-proceeds-referendum-threat-fades/
  3. After pimping TOAST's antics at the Blue Ash City Council meeting with headlines stories that included this juicy tidbit: The Enquirer then buries that news that TOAST in fact will not be circulating said referendum petitions in an obscure blog entry. Typical Enquirer sensationalist BS.
  4. ICYMI: There was a second COAST OpEd in the paper this weekend, this one written by psychopath Jeff Capell: http://local.cincinnati.com/community/Story.aspx?c=100044&url=http://news.communitypress.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/C2/20120824/NEWS/308240021/ The article repeats the same lies about the Streetcar, Blue Ash City Council, etc. It also states that Capell is a Blue Ash resident, but never identifies him as a member of TOAST. Also, in comments on the Brinkman OpEd, Julie Matheny, who is the Executive Director of the Springdale Chamber of Commerce, and a frequent target of Capell's outragious attacks on his unmentionable blog, wrote the following: Capell has been permanently banned from the Blue Ash Recreation Center for antisocial behaviour. This news comes as absolutely no surprise to anyone familiar with Capell's antics.
  5. If Ohio gets the money it will go to build more roads and sewers for yet more unsustainable exburban subdivisions.
  6. Tall Stacks Festival Delayed Until 2014 http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20120822/NEWS/308220078&Ref=AR This could be a blessing in disguise. The streetcar could be up and running in time for the next Tall Stacks. That would be a big win for Cincinnati, which will be swamped with visitors.
  7. And on that note, TOAST tweeted this tonight. Res ipsa loquitur: Edited to add: OMG, is he wearing Davy Crockett's coonskin cap?? BBWWAAA!
  8. Someone posted a response to the Enquire/Blue Ash City Council editorial on the TOAST blog late this morning. The post was removed within an hour of its posting and has not been reposted. In the harangue the poster accused the BACC of violating open meeting laws, called them liars, accused the BACC of secretly working with Mayor Mallory in order to aid Cincinnati's Streetcar, and also called the all Republican Blue Ash City Council "Soviet". It was an angry and absolutely batshit crazy diatribe. And as predicted, the Enquirer buried the BACC editorial. It was never featured in the headline section, nor did it even appear as a headline editorial.
  9. The editorial does not (at this time) appear as a headline story on cincinnati.com. It will be interesting to see if the Enquirer promotes or buries this editorial.
  10. Trust me Quim, I know this for a fact.
  11. ^^That blog is written by cowardly COASTer Jeff Capell, with some contributions by Chris Finney. Capell & Finney use that blog as a platform to launch personal attacks that are so far below the bar that they would even by unacceptable on the already horrible COAST blog. Capell is too big of a coward to sign any of his blog posts, he posts as the above mentioned repugs4highertaxes, and also as "Forward Conservative" on the COAST blog.
  12. Who's josh spring The guy whose livelihood depends upon OTR remaining a ghetto where the homeless and poor are penned up.
  13. It's going to be interesting to see how that private enterprise fares after their pay wall goes live in October. I can't imagine many people will start to pay for their meager content.
  14. The comments were almost universally highly critical of both COAST and the Enquirer's shoddy, enabling coverage of them. Several comments also linked to the the accurate story of what really happened at the hearing that's on UrbanCincy. Comments only disappear when a majority of them are critical of the Enquirer or their pet projects (COAST, Brent Spence Replacement, etc).
  15. For THE FOURTH TIME NOW the Enquirer has deleted all comments from the Blue Ash story. And yes, the URL is still the same.
  16. The Enquirer's tired excuse that 'story URL changes' cause the comments to disappear is pure BS. I've been tracking several threads where comments disappear. The URL is not changing at all. Comments are being purposefully deleted. Someone needs to tweet & email Editor Carolyn Washburn and demand an explanation (she won't respond to me).
  17. ^Quite sure. It said 0 comments as of last night when I posted.
  18. For the third time now, the Enquirer has erased all comments on their hackneyed story on the Blue Ash Council vote/TOAST referendum & lawsuit threat. The comments have been overwhelmingly anti-COAST & highly critical of the enquirer's coverage. Fair & Balanced?
  19. WCPO's Scott Wegener just reworded his last COAST fellating story to include a blurb about last night's vote: http://www.wcpo.com/dpp/news/region_east_cincinnati/blue_ash/Blue-Ash-City-Council-approves-legislation-to-move-forward-with-airport-sale-to-Cincinnati
  20. ...And the Enquirer chimes in with more of the usual. Did they let Finney write the article?
  21. Channel5 is the first up with a fact free , COAST-fluffing story. No mention of the hearing tonight, and a gratuitous COAST comment too boot: There is no "Federal money earmarked for Blue Ash Airport". Cincinnati applied for, and was denied, a Federal grant for the Airport. But the local media never lets facts get in their way of acting as COAST's PR agents.
  22. Completely, utterly predictable. From the TOAST blog (no link, sorry): This is now entirely about Finney's massively over-inflated ego and nothing else.
  23. any members with a Twitter account: Finney & COAST needs to be held accountable for their actions, and this is a rare chance topressure the local media to do so. If you have an account, might you send the following Tweet? RT to ask @CarolynWashburn if her paper is going to report the Blue Ash City Council's chastisement of @chris_finney & @gocoast tonight
  24. That's a sweet, sweet dose of Schadenfreude Jake!
  25. Thanks for the report Jake. Could you tell which media was present? Any more details of the Council's criticisms of the local media??
