Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
yup, Streetcar will help bridge that. I could be wrong but I don't see too many workers around 4th st hopping on the streetcar to take it to the banks for lunch. I also don't see too many people wanting to pay money to ride the streetcar to/fro lunch, especially for shorter distances. I agree.

It really wasnt too bad, would you find me there on a fri or sat night? no.

yup, Streetcar will help bridge that. I agree. I think that capping FWW would be an even bigger help, psychologically. Toby Keith's is no farther for lunch for me than Izzy's (in fact I'm guessing it may actually be closer), but with the highway, it sure seems farther. I was there this week for lunch on thursday, nice sunny day. It was not packed but comfortably filled. Bar was emtpy excpet a maybe 8 people (the bar is huge).

I just don't think the project will meet peoples very high expections(hopes) for the project. Thats all, nothing more nothing less. Hence the "let down".

There's market demand for both types of apartments. I think the rental statistics in DT & OTR speak to this. Vacancies are close to 0%. Exactly. And they aren't mutually exclusive. We need differing products to compete and compliment. I am excited for this project and hope they go for something significant. i would hope for something significant but it will probably be a let down.

Well thought out estimate. One of the things I like about most of the users on this forum. Did you consider the possibly of 2 buildings sitting on the park garage as the last enquirer kind of stated?
-
Cincinnati: Downtown: 84.51°
It almost sounds like the plan is to have two buildings on top of the parking garage surrounded by retail. but I could be wrong, the article is confusing in that aspect. Edit: Not sure how tall they would be as "mid rise" "City documents provided to the Enquirer reveal a plan for a mid-rise building for the consumer insights firm at Fifth and Race, and at Sixth and Race, residential units atop an above-ground parking garage. The two buildings would sit above underground parking and be connected by street-level retail."

I was told that it is more dangerous for the kids to have to look both ways to cross the street instead of just one way and yes i am being serious.
