  1. I'm legitimately surprised Heinens is making the plunge without parking. This is huge for so many reasons. Should bring lots of foot traffic to the Euclid dead zone. We're going to be well on our way to continuous Euclid vibrancy from Public Square to the Inner Belt. I am too, very. Though I suspect they have a plan in the works if it becomes a problem. Which I suspect it will, in part due to the "carrying bags in uncontrolled spaces" issue. What.

  3. There's a fitness center opening in the Flats East Bank hotel. Got a mailer for it last week.
  4. I've noticed more transit police at stations other than Tower City. Earlier in this thread, some of us lamented the lack of transit police outside of the Tower City station and the Tower City -> E. 55th station route. In the past week, I've seen transit police at various west side stations, as well as on some east and west side routes. I even saw transit police at the E. 120th street station. Much appreciated, and I think a step in the right direction.

Cool photos. For anyone in Cleveland, United is currently offering some fall/winter flights to Seattle for about $240 roundtrip, all taxes included. That's about as good as it gets for CLE-SEA flights.
  6. RTA denies this, but if you track NextConnect regularly you can see that it only shows scheduled times for the Red Line. It is not based on the actual location of the next train. When a Red Line train is not on schedule, NextConnect is inaccurate.

Did you eat/drink at Tycoon's? Neat concept.
  8. Agree 100% on spreading the transit police. I'd love to see police at the major stops. Rightly or wrongly, RTA has a safety perception problem among many people in Northeast Ohio. Concentrating transit police in the safest station (Tower City) does nothing to address that.
  9. This place seems to have closed. Maybe for good, maybe for improvements. The sign is down and the parking lot across the street is blocked off. I retract the above. I went by there earlier this evening and the sign's back on. There's still a fence around the parking lot, but now the gate's open. Maybe they were doing some improvements this week.

  11. United announces new nonstop service to Nashville (BNA) and Oklahoma City (OKC). United is also discontinuing nonstop service to Green Bay, WI (GRB). http://www.bloomberg.com/article/2012-09-20/aqFNk5geGndw.html http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2012/09/united_airlines_adding_nonstop.html
  12. It must have been pretty windy up there today...
  13. I was in there about a month ago, but I didn't have a burger. I liked the place a lot, but it was completely empty. This was a weekday at about 4 pm.
  14. You can raise chickens in Cleveland Heights with a permit: http://www.clevelandheights.com/index.aspx?page=1281 Cleveland Heights is directly east of University Circle, and north of Shaker Heights. The Red Line goes near Cleveland Heights, at the Cedar and Euclid-East 120th stops, the latter will be relocated a few blocks away to Little Italy by the time you move to Cleveland. Cleveland Heights is safe, family-oriented, walkable, and has decent public transit. Personally, I think University Circle meets all of your requirements, but I'm not familiar with the chicken laws there.
