  1. I only wish some of these modern designs would explore a modern cornice. Kind of bummer when these buildings just unceremoniously terminate at a piece of flashing.
  2. Frisch's is also local, and employs thousands of people in the area, including myself indirectly. Money spent at Frisch's is spread to a lot more people here than Tucker's.
  3. Perhaps it will turn out better than the obviously shallow metaphor that is the tiara on Great American Tower.
  4. Same happened to me when my car was hit outside of a UDF. The cops dont care.
  5. A 150k studio with a Murphy bed????? Yikes.
  6. I recall this project having a potential "sister building" to the north across 8th. Does anyone know if that is still something being pursued?
  7. Unfortunately we keep losing trees on Central Parkway every year.
  8. Great to see in that part of town. The little basin by the highway has some serious untapped potential.
  9. Seems like quite a bit of power granted only seven individuals. That's right, seven. How exactly do these people get these positions?
  10. I would say the parks reputation speaks for itself. Like mentioned in the article, a lot of crime occurs there. I'm glad you feel safe walking by but a lot of people definitely don't.
  11. The development by the river on the East Side has actually been some of the best in the city imo. I hope the trend continues here.
  12. There aren't many places that scare me in this town, but that park is one of them. Hope the redux is a positive one.
  13. Just an observation, but there seems to be someone clearing trees near the old Torrence Road Station on the East Side. Any ideas what may be going on here? Some you are better sleuths than me when it comes to finding these things out.
  14. Sounds like a great place for the away team locker room. Minimal updates of course.
  15. Top 5 US Cities 1. NYC 2. Pittsburgh 3 Cincinnati 4. Charleston SC 5. Albuquerque Top international 1. Rome 2. Sienna 3. Wuppertal 4. Cologne 5. Dusseldorf
  16. It looks primed for someone to ramp their car right into the square.
  17. I disagree. I think this has a very open and appealing feel, I bet it would be an attractive and busy area, I also assume at least part of the ground level would be some form of retail or restaurant. I don't understand the necessity for a street wall. The Kroger building does just that and it's supremely univiting, same with the base of the Terrace Plaza, which is so beloved on this forum.
  18. Not sure I would include the already affluent area where Edgecliff is as part of the area in reference. That part of the neighborhood hasn't really had many of the same issues as the business district on McMillan. Just my opinion there. But as far as the business district, it has definitely improved, just at a pace that is far slower than what I would like, and at this rate it will be another 10 years before it's a healthy and vibrant area, if not longer.
  19. MLS has higher attendance numbers than NBA and NHL so I don't know what you mean by not major league. https://www.statista.com/statistics/207458/per-game-attendance-of-major-us-sports-leagues/
  20. That place is the best!!! Did the business close??
  21. Tearing that church down would be a tragedy.
  22. I'm still a little salty that the OG Greater's building was torn down. In my home town a building caught fire and the facade was preserved with open windows and a courtyard inside. It does a lot to preserve the streetwall and add to the appeal of variable height without having to invest in a new structure. Too late now tho.
  23. You see I thought architects loved this stuff!
