Cincinnati: Evolution and Changing Perceptions of Urban Neighborhoods
The only thing cruel is your high horse perspective on people whom are suffering and need support and help. When I was down and out and didn't have electricity or food, the local church was the only people who kept me from starving to death. What an awful perspective you have. Where are you when these people need help? Such a shitty and self centered person you must be.

Cincinnati: South Fairmount: Development and News
Powell is in Camp Wash. That's Lunkenheimer. Also that should happen to the Midwest Textiles building as well. Very cool views of downtown from there.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
Yves Behar replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionI'm not sure I know too many high school or even recent college grads that could afford to purchase a million dollar town home. I think the point being made is that this interest is already there, just that the amount and price of the housing is currently higher than most people are willing to spend when they can live adjacent or at least close and then just come visit. Trust me, I caught the bug and I would love to live in OTR, but frankly it's a bit out of my league at this point. When I first moved here I wanted to buy a building, I remember one selling for about 15k on 14th I believe and it was bought and came back on the market 4 years later with almost nothing done to it, but for about 265k.

Cincinnati: University of Cincinnati: Development and News
Yves Behar replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionAny ideas as to what will happen to the current building? Word from a friend who works there is that the north side of Calhoun is to be transformed, including the dorms and old campus Y. Anyone have any info on this speculation?

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Music Hall
Whats with all the height hate anyway? I really don't understand why people don't like verticality, and I don't see historic precedent as a good reason, as I'm sure plenty of people in the past would have loved the chance to grow upwards had it not been for technological restrictions. Also it's not as if the short buildings we get are anything special.

Cincinnati: Northside: Development and News
Yves Behar replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionThere's been a bit of a shuffle of the businesses there lately, with Melt moving and a new place opening in its place, and then Django moved as well opening the corner across from Gantry. Any new construction is probably pretty small at the moment, with the exception of perhaps some construction over by West Fork and Virginia.

Yves Behar replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionIs the printing place still in business? It's such an eyesore and seems like no one has been in or out in the past decade.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
Yves Behar replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & Construction"Growth fueled by entertainment is temporary and undesirable." I highly doubt this assessment is true. I would cite any city with a tourism industry as a counter to this argument.

Looks the same as all the other crap being built today, but I guess maybe I hope they figure it out....

Cincinnati: Camp Washington: Development and News
I hope so. I live in the Camp and it's a bit scary at times. There is also a lot of industry mixed into the neighborhood, so people would have to be okay with that. It's also quite loud, and Hopple street is pretty dangerous and unpleasant. Also you have to be alright with drug dealers and prostitutes, because it is very much a real thing here. Never had my car messed with tho, and the people I know are very nice, but I have had some pretty lousy interactions with people while just minding my own business. I'm not saying that it isn't possible for CW to be a nice neighborhood, but there i no way that it is going to happen without some serious money coming in first.
