Cincinnati: Downtown: Fort Washington Way Cap
They also just expanded did they not? To add, if the caps are done, hopefully its not hastily and low budget. The Banks has been the most disappointing public project I've ever seen, and if we keep allowing that quality in such a significant area, we're shooting ourselves in the foot in 20 years.

I'm with them, not a fan of these parking companies, they have little invested in the neighborhood, and their interests promote more parking and driving, which is the last thing we need.

Newport, KY: Newport on the Levee: Development and News
Yves Behar replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionYeah I hope there is a little more consideration to the base. It has the same look as the underside of a highway overpass and the only people who like to spend time in those places are usually homeless and not there by choice exactly.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
Yves Behar replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionWhat is the interior like today and what has it been used for most recently? From the outside, the facade is definitely "non-contributing" (if anything, those glass block windows detract from the historic district). My friends father owned that building and my band played shows there a few times. The inside is not neat or old or interesting and more or less just looks like most places that have been slowly gutted over the years and re done with hillbilly shitty garbage. So no there isn't much worth saving there. It bums me out when people want to pull that card and stop development where it's needed, but don't seem to do or say anything as thousands of other historic buildings all over the city slowly rot.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
Yves Behar replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionYeah please not a Walgreen's. They would likely attempt to tear down something nice to put in a faux historic building with a parking lot. Recall the Bishop's mansion. Maybe just a well organized local drugstore. Something like the new hardware store.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
Yves Behar replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionIf I remember correctly the owner had to do this pretty hastily and managed to save the building the same day as proposed demo or something crazy like that.

Cincinnati: University of Cincinnati: Development and News
Yves Behar replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionI really love this, not too sure whats going on at the end with those diamond shaped things but it seems to be interesting. I also have this personal opinion that when you do glass facades ya really gotta go all the way with it, and this seems to do just that. I'm sure it's going to light up the whole area at night.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Ziegler Park Renovation
I have a strong feeling that the existing crosswalk in the picture has NOTHING to do with the location of the actual future cross walk that you can see called out in the site plan diagram above. edit: oh wait I see it now, what the hell.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
Yves Behar replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionI'm not sure but some of those signs seem pretty old. The ones downtown still have pics of Riverfront Stadium on them, and the sign for Northside on Spring Grove has a picture of a church that fell down in 1991...

The was a road where MLK was, not sure what it was called though. As far as I know as well there were a handful of 90 degree intersections where roads would jog to one side or the other and continue on with the same name. I recall where MLK is between Eden and Euclid there was a large ravine and a bridge that crossed at that location.
