Cincinnati: Downtown: 84.51°
My 2 cents is the outside is pretty sweet and otherwise who cares about the inside other than their workers.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
climberguy714 replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionI'd say Neons counts as a beer garden. Also during the summer they have the one at Findlay Market though its only during the day when the markets open.

climberguy714 replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionIs the beer garden at Weilerts still there? From those old drawings and postcards it looks like it was amazing.

Sycamore Township: Kenwood Collection
BTW the crane is gone now and it appears work on the exterior of the tower is done.

Cincinnati: Downtown: City Club Apartments / 309 Vine Redevelopment
I noticed if you link to the article and look at the other project they are working on in Minneapolis, it is a tower being built on top of an existing building. What if they use that experience to add onto 309, considering it was built with that in mind originally?

Amtrak & Federal: Passenger Rail News
Saw this: http://www.indystar.com/story/news/2015/04/06/amtraks-hoosier-state-line-appears-back-track/25367641/ Good news! Glad Indiana was willing to play hardball with the Feds.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
Yea I've never seen any streetcars or light rail in person. You guys are right, colors look different when its paint on metal in daylight vs a color swatch on a computer. I'll save my judgement for when I'm seeing the real thing.

Ugh... Didn't realize the colors for that rendering were the official colors. I really don't like that yellow/orange. Would have really liked if they did a royal blue or purple since we're the queen city.

http://m.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2015/03/31/murray-utility-costs-for-next-streetcar-phase.html Murray reveals the costs for utility relocation on vine weren't hidden, and the vote on proposals is delayed.

Well considering almost 40 million just for utility relocation on vine, this might bode well for the tunnel alternative right?

Cincinnati: Brent Spence Bridge
http://m.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/blog/2015/03/what-will-happen-on-the-new-brent-spence-when-more.html Thought this one was interesting. ODOT admitting that building the bridge might not actually help relieve congestion, but create more. An infuriating attitude about transit though. He pretty much says, yes we planned for transit to go in this too, but we don't feel like figuring that part out yet, so whatever. First I had heard of an intention to include transit cooridors in this project. It also seems odd to try to incorporate using the shoulders as travel lanes, unless this is an idea to eliminate lanes, resulting in cost reduction.

Oh I see, didn't realize theirs was so short. Travis, I like that idea. It would help accelerate west end, and I could see kids using it to get to Taft, as well as it being used to connect to light rail in the subway tunnels eventually.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
http://www.soapboxmedia.com/inthenews/032415-seattle-streetcar-changes-impact-national-movement.aspx Thought this article posted on soapbox was interesting. Traffic downtown isnt bad now, but what will it be like in 5 or 10 yrs. The way our streetcar weaves in and out of lanes could make it slower than Seatle's, unless we changed the roads the route is on to transit, pedestrians and bikes only of course ?.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
Yea I understand the feds point on this one, but the city is valid too. They want full details, because its the city thats paying the full cost to operate, not the other counties and cities represented by the SORTA board.

Cincinnati: Walnut Hills / East Walnut Hills: Development and News
Ok that makes sense now. I was wondering why have a 1200 space parking garage if you're only making 100-something apartments. Hope it does turn into a much bigger project.

How long would our tunnels be? It looks like the Minneappolis ones were about a mile and a half.

Cincinnati Brewery / Beer / Alcohol News
climberguy714 replied to CincyImages's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentI'm surprised MSD is worried about sugar water vs the chemicals used for sanitizing. I don't understand, because to me sugar water is less dirty and harmful than poop water, which is going through the system all day every day.
