Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
I feel in terms of fulfilling the needs of residents, this is a stopgap measure. In order to relieve the need for parking for more and more people as the population increases and more businesses open, the best solution is to continue to expand the streetcar into a light rail tram system, increasing the ability of people to park elsewhere and ride the tram in, or get rid of the need for cars in the area.

Cincinnati: Madisonville: Development and News
These look halfway decent. From the looks of it, parking will be hidden behind the buildings. http://m.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2015/03/06/25-million-luxury-apartment-project-gets-key.html

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
Should we start writing letters to our representatives to urge them to negotiate with Indiana and work together on this?

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
Nice, so Indiana is train-blocking us and we don't have any say...

Norwood: Development and News
climberguy714 replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionI agree it's kinda janked, especially the weird ass parking lot, but I still feel its better than the waste of space of the other rookwood phases. I feel every U shaped shopping center with a sea of parking, like rookwood and hyde park plaza, need to just build buildings in the parking where theres a couple of stories of under or above ground parking, with more retail on the bottom, and tons of residential/office on top. Does anyone think that would be a valid way to retrofit inner ring suburbs with shopping centers like this? Are there any examples elsewhere?

Cincinnati: Eastern Corridor
According to the enquirer, they changed their mind to create a deadline for odot to decide...the deadline being dec 31. I really hope that is a typo, we do not need almost another year of debate, this whole project needs to be crancelled!

Cincinnati: Wasson Way Trail
I hope so, because this needs to happen. We need to build collaboration.

Cincinnati: Bars / Nightlife News
climberguy714 replied to CincyImages's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentSweet thanks for the info. I was just thinking how big of a boost to local beer that would be if say every skyline in the city had a few local beers on tap.

Cincinnati: Pleasant Ridge / Kennedy Heights: Development and News
Very good news! This was made possible by the neighborhood banding together a couple years ago and blocking walgreens, which wanted to tear down the vfw and the building with everybodys to build a new drive thru walgreens. I'd prefer mexican any day!

climberguy714 replied to CincyImages's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentI don't know how liqour licenses work, are they to be able to serve beer and liqour or just liquor? Totally off topic...I've always felt chili places should have beer too...I think it makes sense, but don't know how all that works.

Well I guess he isn't in favor of green transportation in the city in general then other than redbike, since he thinks bikes should be on bikepaths and not on streets and cut funding for bike lanes. He is also ignoring the fact that, if I remember right the city is getting their power through First Energy, which though not green generated, is backed by srecs, offsetting the pollution and thus making it "green". Am I correct in this? I thought that is why Roxanne was fighting for the power aggregate choice, and why I chose First as my provider.

Ohio Medical Marijuana
http://m.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2015/02/09/heres-where-greater-cincinnatis-marijuana-farms.html What's up with this? Why would it only be legal to grow in these places? Is this being spearheaded by people just looking to keep the profit to themselves?

This is great news! Can't wait to see this unfold. It will be great to finally have local developers working on big projects downtown. Things like this validate all the hard work that was put in to fight for what we believe in.

Cincinnati: Wasson Way Trail
http://m.bizjournals.com/cincinnati/news/2015/01/27/exclusive-proposed-east-side-bike-trail-could-be.html Thought this was interesting. Not only would it be good to cobble the old row back together for the bike path, that would preserve it for light rail use too. If I remember right wasnt one of the problems with the wasson rail idea how to connect it past xavier?

Cincinnati: Madisonville: Development and News
I agree. When I read the article, I was like is this a double blind for getting that street done for the eastern corridor? As someone who lives in the area, I fully dont think this road is necessary. It might be the medpace people wanting to not have to deal with redbank and madison though. Regardless it will be good to see everything filling in on both corners in the near future. Hopefully stuff will start in the madisonville business district too.
