Good, hope whoever buys it can increase the density.

Mike Brown and the Bengals can suck it and leave. There is no reason a mediocre half ass sports team should have any say over development of any land whatsoever unless they personally own it!!! Elected officials even entertaining this is complete bullshit.

Cincinnati: Evolution and Changing Perceptions of Urban Neighborhoods
5 summers ago when the saints were playing at stargel, we were allitle uncomfortable because we weren't familiar with the area, but never had any issues and went to every home game there of the season.

climberguy714 replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentThey are huge among people my age (20-30). You've probably heard Closer, it was in the top 5 from roughly November 2016 to March 2017. That's their most popular song, but I also really like Don't Let Me Down and Something Just Like This. It's basically pop EDM. The rest of their stuff is hit or miss for me. Their only album was a relative failure and they've released a number of songs this year, none of which made it in the top 40. Sick Boy is an ok song, though. It could be that people are tired of hearing them after how popular they were from 2015-2017. The real answer to that question is none, lol.

Ohio Medical Marijuana
If this is true I sure hope the state government gets slapped with lawsuits since the law mandates a September start date. They have had 2 yrs to figure this out and have been moving at a snails pace. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=http://www.dispatch.com/news/20180528/ohio-in-danger-of-missing-sept-8-deadline-for-medical-marijuana%3Ftemplate%3Dampart&ved=0ahUKEwj3pr6NsbHbAhUqgK0KHcAJAxAQiJQBCCcwAA&usg=AOvVaw033DY9-n13pi5u-2hAtltb&cf=1

Cincinnati: Oakley: Development and News
That pisses me off, why couldn't smoothie king just stay in Hyde Park plaza where it's been forever? Agree that the whole development sucks compared to what it should have been with the original plan. It honestly is more dense than I expected though overall.

We also need to keep in mind what memi is doing to midpoint. Have they made that more "cool"? ???

I don't think Crave used the second floor. Here's an interior shot of Crave: https://www.google.com/maps/@39.0982005,-84.5091247,2a,75y,72.92h,96.21t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sZF0VFG3TYwMAAAQDMaUj8g!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 Here's the exterior where you can see the windows on the second floor, at the corner with 2nd St: https://www.google.com/maps/@39.0981434,-84.5089175,3a,75y,270.23h,101.7t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sub866XMnRbP4X9A2Wl5Zmg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 I assumed they were talking about how the space has a split level. The bar area up front was one level and then it went down like 3-4 stairs to the main restaurant space.

Well...at least this space isn't going to be just another pocket park.

FC Cincinnati Discussion
Fc fought hard last night against Pittsburgh to draw. They broke Pittsburgh's streak of not being scored on yet in the season and only having to defend 3 shots on target in 4 games. It was a rough game but I'm proud of the guys for coming back to tie.

Cincinnati: West End: TQL Stadium
Saw this opinion piece: https://www.thenation.com/article/cincinnatis-soccer-stadium-scam/ You can tell the slant from the title. I'm at the point now where it's like the street car. People are just opposed to it to be opposed to it. The amt of money that will be fronted by the tax payers is literally a drop in the bucket of the city and county budgets. Also why don't the developers who buy up buildings and kick people out to flip them for a profit get protested as much as the projects that are seen as catalysts for change and gentrification. I feel people fight symbols of gentrification more than actual gentrification.

I took one from the cab stand in front of the Millennium Hotel last month after I dropped off a rental car. I don't understand why people wait around for an Uber car to show up when a line of cabs are sitting right there ready to roll, aside from the fact that Uber is a completely sleazy business. Riders and the company profit on the backs of the drivers, who thanks to depreciation of their own vehicles literally make zero money. Uber tells me what the fare will be in advance and about half the time I'm in a cab they say the credit card machine isn't working. Lol I have definitely had this happen where the credit card machine is clearly on and doesn't look like it's not working. Figured it was a scam they do to go around fees etc. I'm like what would you have done if I didn't have cash?

Cincinnati: Hyde Park: Development and News
Lol the part where it says some residents have raised concerns about it being too dense for the neighborhood is ludicrous. It looks like it would be very similar density to the buildings in Hyde Park Square only a few blocks away. I'm impressed at the density of this plan honestly.

Went to the game last night in Indy. It was a great game and an awesome showing from the fans on both sides. I think Indy might have the biggest supporter group section other than us in the usl. Was glad to see them sell out at a little over 17k.

Oh they've been working on building this the last few weeks already. I drive by it often on my way to work. Right next to trump tower Cincinnati.

Cincinnati: Evolution and Changing Perceptions of Urban Neighborhoods
Yea my whole point in starting this was to point out that people engaging in the neighborhood and moving in and trying to make it better help most. The more people are around the less likely drug dealers or any criminals are to do stuff. My other point was that no neighborhood is perfect. I'm glad and proud of our city that things have gotten so much better and I hope we continue to work on that. I don't believe racial stereotyping and pushing harder for increased gentrification are helpful though. I believe all of the initiatives in otr and west end/queensgate to help get people back on their feet and trained for jobs probably help a lot as do eyes on the street. I also believe legalizing marijuana will help as well in the coming years to reduce drug dealing as well as crime associated with it. Btw sorry this is super off-topic just wanted to explain myself and stop the trolling back and forth.

Lol guess me, my wife and my mother-in-law and everyone on my street are addicts or criminals.
-
Cincinnati: Evolution and Changing Perceptions of Urban Neighborhoods
Wow you're super dramatic. People deal drugs all over the entire city. I have drug dealers on my street in Kennedy heights that keep to themselves and usually don't cause any problems. I'm sure there's drug dealers in Oakley and hyde park. And there have been whole grow houses in indian Hills. I'm sure it's better to not have them there to reduce risk of violent crime but just because they're there doesn't mean we can't have nice things.

Right!? If you want your kids to have a nice view of grass and trees and whatever and not buildings, its probably wise to not live downtown.

Cincinnati: Brent Spence Bridge
Yea its totally ludicrous to be tearing down buildings for somethingthat might never be built and has zero finding to be built. BTW what happened to Trump's promise to get it built if he was elected? Again can't believe the double standard because if this was all for a light rail bridge that was fully funded people would be fighting it tooth and nail no matter what.
