National Geographic sprawl picture
I think the debate is still out whether sprawl is good or bad. Many on this board believe it is bad. While others may not see it as such a major problem. We're not running out of space, so let people own property with big yards and single-family houses.

Washington D.C.
Washington is a great city. Love the Metro, best/only way to get around!

Well I guess for those who live in Ohio, they want that. Thats what we vote for. I think the inner-city schools should be just as good as those out in the suburbs. I know that Cincinnati does spend a lot per student, but doesn't get the results, where suburban school districts spend less and get better performance out of the students.

Then why don't they do it?

The growth is good overall. People get newer, affordable housing in the suburbs and their kids get a much better education than those in innercity schools.

All Major Radar Detector Companies based out of Cincinnati Metro - Coinsedance?
I have heard that the Valentine is worth the money. Are Escort and Beltronics the same company, just different names. Seems weird how both are located right next to each other.

Which Ohio City Could Host A Superbowl?
I thought I posted earlier, but I guess not. I give the bid to Cincinnati, exp. if "The Banks" gets started. Now, why hasn't Cincinnati got MLB All-Star game? New stadium here MLB!

Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
Have faith. The Twin Cities is a great area, including Bloomington and the Mall of America. The county is waiting until March to listen to other developers. Early April is when they ok. So the county owns the land and will be building the garages right? Why are the garages not built yet? So then the city has the "Air" rights above that land? Seems like a big mess!

Cincinnati: 2015 MLB All-Star Game
What I want to know is why hasn't Cincinnati hosted MLB All-Star game yet? We have a new stadium, pretty much all the other cities with new stadiums have hosted one.

Cincinnati: Interstate 75
Looks like the website was updated since the local meetings. More pdfs of the interchange designs considered.

How to Kill a City (Cincy - Nick Spencer blog post)
My comments were not directed toward Nick, but the other 2 million people living in the area.

How to Kill a City (Cincy - Nick Spencer blog post)
How to Kill a City: Write and complain about the problems, but take no action whatsoever to correct them. Seams pretty simple and from what I can tell, the typical Ohioans feeling is someone else should fix the problems. Fate=this state may be f**ked in the next several decades.

A street performer playing to a lifeless city
To each his own I guess. I enjoy the Tampa area because of the weather and atmosphere. Cincinnati is great, but after college, I don't think I will be living here.

Yes I know the connector can get very bad, but if you can take the HOV lanes, you get through pretty quickly.

Well on our recent family trip to Florida, we hit rush hour in Atlanta. We stopped once, outside of the I-285 loop and then traffic moved very well. Some days I would say Cincinnati is much worse as I have travelled trough/in Atlanta several times and only had minor delays.

Well then the city should stop doing some of those things and give incentive to private business to do certain tasks. The government simply spends way to much and private business could do similar things at much less cost and better efficiency.
-
Statement Skyscrapers
Well it depends on the city, and most of the suburbs along the northern beltway would provide the services mentioned. When a company is looking at how much they pay in income taxes, Cincinnati's 2.1% is much less attractive than Sharonville's 1% or those without an income tax at all.
-
Statement Skyscrapers
I believe the only reason Cincinnati hasn't seen these towers pop-up along the northern beltway is because Cincinnati is smaller and not growing nearly as fast as those cities mentioned. Hey, business will build where it is best for them, it is up to each community to decide what incentives to give a business. I know it would hurt Cincinnati for a little while, but if they cut the income tax to half of what it is, I bet we would see more investment in the city. 2.1% is stupid.
-
Statement Skyscrapers
I think why all of these tall towers are built out of downtown areas is because land is much cheaper in the suburbs and this allows them to build either a bigger building or simply save costs.
-
Cincinnati: Interstate 75
Well, 5 lanes is slightly more expensive. More ROW cost in addition to construction. I hope for the 5 lane, but I still am pissed about no HOV being built.
-
Metro Cincinnati: Road & Highway News
Has anyone heard any updates on this project? I can't find much on the ODOT website. Are they just adding lanes to the middle and just leaving all interchanges as they are presently?
-
Cincinnati: Brent Spence Bridge
I hope it came from another vehicle, but I think the bridge has to go, it is to dangerous no matter how many lanes it has. Bring on a new 14 lane bridge!
-
Cincinnati: Interstate 75
Well, looking into the individual matix's for each part of the project, Hopple Option A is the cheapest! I don't know what will happen, but I think there is more cost to building large fly-over ramps, and I think a new Hopple exit will make it easier to travel through the area.

Cincinnati: Interstate 75
www.i75millcreekexpressway.com Updates on the project is now available. This includes changes to Hopple St and the change in mainline(4 and 4/5 lane configurations).
