Why have you given up on Case? Because they demolished a house you wanted them to keep? By all accounts, Case is doing better than ever. Enrollment is up, the national profile of Case is much higher, and applicants are much higher than they were five years ago. Not to mention the new student center, the repurposing of the temple into an arts campus and all of the future expansion and construction plans. Sounds like they are going in the right direction to me. I have my reasons besides this. This is just emblematic. And I don't want to start another thread derailment.

My alma mater disgusts me. Whatever, in so many ways, I've given up on the entire institution. Babs isn't going to see another cent from me. Sometimes I wonder why I still fight for this institution at all. Oh and if you were wondering, there was a meeting. In typical Case fashion they told no one and slid it under the radar. They then told everyone after the fact in some vague gloating victory.

I'm a bit confused by that signage. It look super amazing! But is it painted directly onto structural members, not the previous facade? It sure looks like it when I walked past yesterday.

Maybe there's hope? Sorry to reappear from the dead, but here's more about the house in University Circle that CWRU wishes to tear down. An alumnus is attempting to justify it. The Alumni House itself opened in 2007 after decades of requests from Case Western Reserve University graduates that the university emulate its many peer institutions by offering such a space. Ultimately the Alumni Association Board established a task force to advance the initiative, and among the group’s top recommendations was inclusion of a large room to accommodate large functions. Don't know. I would think the United Bank building at W25 and Lorain. But the tweet came from @SOLODistrictOC so it could be anywhere along and south of Lorain. It looks like they are either sharing or taking over the JC Beertech spot. Related to the Hingetown moniker discussion, Platform/Beertech/Brew Shop are the only people who call it the SOLO District. They should stop trying to make SOLO District happen. Sorry had to. :p Anyway I'm ok with branding as long as it gives a sense of place ("Uptown") but I feel like the organic push isn't there for for "SOLO" but idk that might just be me. I'll go back to lurking now.

As a person from the Subcontinent (heeeeyyyyyy!), I've never eaten at Mirch Masala. I really never had a reason to. I cook most of my own Desi food. Just made giant batch of samosas for a party. Anyway, Desi-Chinese is one of my favorite cuisine mashups. I look forward to eating it in Lahore whenever I visit family. I'll stop in one day and report my findings here.

But forreal, heat and serve... Restaurants require hotels to have a lot more infrastructure. It also means guests will eat and other Downtown establishments, which is good.
