  1. Like a pants crapping sequel to Wicked Twister.
  2. Carnegie's recent track record doesn't inspire confidence they will develop the HKM site themselves. I'd be happy to be proven wrong.
  3. Right it's the entire block.
  4. Been a while, but it seems this is coming to light. https://planning.clevelandohio.gov/designreview/brd/detailDR.php?ID=4473&CASE=DF 2023-037 METROPOLIS BLOCK PROJECT (BLDG. 1) Downtown/Flats Case # DF 2023-037 Address: 2390 Center Street Company: B & B wrecking and Excavating Architect: B & B Wrecking and Excavating Description: Demolition Nautica is still listed as the owner according to the county GIS. There are a couple "Metropolis" branded parking garages downtown, which is just a parking technology company with ties to Bedrock. @KJP did mention a parking garage planned around here, but the location doesn't align with his article some time ago. edit: Thanks @marty15, I forgot about the former Metropolis club on the backside of this block.
  5. You might be right on a long enough timeline. But I don't consider a generation from now temporary.
  6. Progressive shedding over a million sq ft of office space should tell you how temporary they view WFH.
  7. The bridge concept looks fantastic. But the "swooping" promenade north of the stadium looks like it will severely limit mixed use possibility. Like there is an allergy against right angles and urban street grid.
  8. I didn't say I liked the idea. Just that the state would be more willing to help a suburb than Cleveland. See the $62 million requested for the land bridge that was removed from the state budget.
  9. Since we're all giving hot takes, I bet the state provides more funding if it's built in a neighboring city or county.
  10. I wouldn't support making it any more difficult than what it is now. The hurdle is already very high and citizen led amendments are rare. The top 44 counties account for 86% of the state's population. That's a more than adequate cross section of the voting spectrum.
  11. I bet these will look great when they are finished and lit up. They don't look cheap at all, IMO. Here is an up close from the playhouse link above.
  12. Bibb didn't suggest stop and frisk. AsDustinFoxWouldSay did. Bibb however lamented current gun culture and the cities inability to enact meaningful gun legislation because of state and federal rules, which is 100% correct.
  13. I agree the 480 site makes a lot of sense. On a long enough timeline I'd love to see the city start reclaiming industrial valley and adjacent land for residential and light commercial use. But i get that is a pipe dream.
  14. My mistake I totally misread this as Canal becoming the service road through this stretch.
  15. Definitely but it sounds like there is a significant office component here so there should be plenty of daytime workers. So is closing Canal as a connector to Center St a done deal?
  16. It was made in jest, like there was somebody pretending to be KJP, not that he wasn't a legitimate or respected planner. Admittedly a bad joke.
  17. Sounds like this imposter Ken has no imagination.
  18. Not that I've tried a ton of donut places, but George's Donuts in Twinsburg is the best I've had in NEO area.
  19. They are working on the 22nd floor, the last residential level. Next up is the rooftop amenity level, which should be in a couple days after they pour the 22nd slab and columns.

Sure they do. There is still tons of it.
  21. Also, the Apple industry spends billions funding catchy lobbying firms like Nada-for-Bananas.
  22. Mendo replied to UncleRando's post in a topic in Ohio Politics
That's nonsense. People worked to have the rules that are in place now explicitly to take some power back from its legislaters. Rightfully so given how easily they choose their constituents through districting. That is how government ought to be.
  23. Mendo replied to UncleRando's post in a topic in Ohio Politics
@Lazarus It's only an issue because you disagree with the policy. That doesn't make it bad policy. And it's stupid to equate it to Ohio's statewide amendments, which are far more difficult to even GET on the ballot.
  24. I suspect most of that traffic is originating from downtown and would be unaffected if you ripped up the Shoreway between 3rd and 9th.
