  1. Oh for sure. Hopefully some new concepts, or remodeled in Taphouse's case, will usher in the next phase in Tremont restaurant scene.
  2. Want to grab a beer there after work?
  3. Having Taphouse, Lolita, Parallax, and (soon) Fahrenheit all closed at the same time does kinda suck the air out of the neighborhood. I know there's plans for some or all of those spaces but still.
  4. Thanks for the pics. It's still too much asphalt. That extension off of W. 3rd seems unnecessary. Just direct traffic to Lakeside. It's only through traffic which is minimal.
  5. The city planning commission called this out during the review meetings. I remember the material pallet in SW's submission even listed two different glass panels, with the thicker glass meant for the podium floors. But that was also a while ago and material costs have only gone up. It could have been value engineered since then. You may end up right but I'll wait to see how it looks after they finish a couple floors.
  6. Could be plastic sheeting to protect the glass.
  7. Hopefully that fiber network can be leveraged down the road for home ISPs. The city should be investing in a wired municipal broadband network. Wireless is fine for the local access, like within people's homes, but it should be fiber to the house.
  8. Not if they tried to stay exclusively with Rock bands. Rock doesn't have nearly the relevance in pop culture as it did when the Rock Hall was built.
  9. Watch them move all the way out to Avon.
  10. It's still bugs me landmark's forced the Bridgework building away from the corner to preserve the view of St. Malachi. It weakened the overall project for no benefit. For 6 months out of the year it's blocked by trees anyway. Bridgeworks existing does not diminish the work they've done for the community.
  11. Shocking Landmarks thinks it's too dense. It's absurd they suggest moving the height off Lorain onto the side streets closer to the single family homes. Contradictory to how the planning commission has been pushing projects to "step down" into the neighborhood.
  12. Seems like it's still stuck on the 16th or so floor.
  13. ^ I get aesthetics are subjective, but i think the design is underwhelming. It's a very prominent corner that deserves better than a 5 foot wall along the sidewalk.
  14. Go to the courthouse plaza thread two posts up.
  15. I'm not so sure. I've seen enough people think out loud that it "makes sense" that changing the constitution would be more difficult. The infuriating and hypocritical part of course is that it will take just 50%+1 votes to make all future votes require 60%.
  16. In terms of economic impact, getting rid of the Shoreway and flyover for the land bridge is more important than the stadium.
  17. Same. Or it'll come with strings like not being able to downgrade the shoreway to remove the ramps and flyover.
  18. I see we've reached the "County Courthouse" phase of the project where the renovation costs are so bloated that people go, "If we're going to spend $1 billion on renovation, why not just spend $2 billion on a new stadium!", like those two numbers are interchangeable.
  19. We could have that conversation if somebody could provide a realistic set of new-to-the-region uses that wouldn't be better served at our existing convention center, which we've dumped a half a billion into, or the Fieldhouse, which was also just renovated.
  20. They must have cleaned the lens or increased the stream resolution. Check out the before and after. Two sunny day pics, the first from March 20th, the second from this afternoon.
  21. And which judge got campaign contributions.
  22. @Silent MattYou have a higher res version? Need more pixels.🙂
  23. Oh man cup holders. You'd have to pay extra for that on Frontier.
  24. Have they actually started construction on the UK site? The most recent article I could find was from 2021 and they were still working out financing. The earliest articles were from 2015. Doesn't bode well for the business case. Hopefully NASA being next door gets this thing moving quicker.
  25. BTW, that old Best Buy is going to be split into two retail spaces, Ross and Hibbet's. Apparently Chipotle is getting a standalone location as well. I know they are moving toward more online pickup sales so I wonder if that is the driver.
