Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
The city and county should get a cut of the TV money. The problem with gate fees is a fraction of the region actually goes to games. But we all know that won't happen. We can't even negotiate keeping naming rights.

Props for the creativity, but why re-arrange our malls around an albatross of a new stadium used a handful of times a year. Football stadiums are a money pit, and a terrible land use.

Cleveland: Flats Developments (Non-Stonebridge or FEB)
^ And Wendy Park is a stone's throw from here too. Columbus Pensinsula has a ready-made street grid for a very unique neighborhood. I hope that's the focus for the remaining properties.

Canton-Massillon: Random Development and News
Yeah that's awesome. The more people are exposed to rail, the more they'll demand it elsewhere. The Stark County area is pretty conservative so I am not optimistic this will proceed but it's possible.

Cleveland: West Side Market News & Info
Looks like they are repointing the grout lines, not replacing the brick.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Irishtown Bend Park
I'd rather they push to get rid of that ugly-ass billboard.

Cleveland: Downtown: Skyline 776 (City Club Apartments)
The plumbing and electrical conduit is run through the rebar before the concrete is poured. Knowing where it will be ahead of time let's them leave room for the pipes and reinforce the areas around it. Then its all buried in concrete on pour day.

My OCD can appreciate the near-equilateral triangle.

Cleveland: Downtown: Skyline 776 (City Club Apartments)
Going by the Lumen construction, we'll know when it's time to pour the mat. It takes days to build the lattice of rebar, probably a couple feet thick. Then cement trucks lined up around the block throughout the day.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
I wonder what the opposition was. It's not like they aren't building a ton of apartment buildings already in Detroit Shoreway. Yabo, don't forget McCormack also came out strongly against two apartments buildings that were ultimately denied, one each in Ohio City and Tremont.

Cleveland: Hotel Development
I have reservations about SPACs in general, so I'm not sure I consider this bad news.

Cleveland: Downtown: Gateway District: Development and News
Last low-mid rise apartment building was this built by Geis finished a year or two ago If we're talking strictly mixed use only one built recently would be the Flats East Bank phase 2.

Cleveland: Streetscape Improvements
Putting concrete over the roots like that won't help either. Anybody know if it's permeable under the pavers or just concrete like in the photo? If the latter it's no wonder they keep having to cut down the trees along Euclid.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Looks like they dumbed down the base and replaced the stone with boring gray metal panels.

Cleveland: Tremont: Development and News
This is certainly ambitious for that site. It's nice to get significant retail on both the ground and second floors, not just small, coffee shop-sized stalls like in other apartment projects. That second floor space overlooking downtown could be great. Still not sure how the terrace will interact with the sidewalk. It will block visibility of the building itself. I'm picturing the sidewalk sheds all over New York. They give a canyon vibe on the ground. The irony of Giancarlo being involved, considering how much he complains in Landmark meetings about buildings being "too big" for their surroundings.

Ohio General Assembly
Oh so you are for eliminating all zoning rules?

Ohio General Assembly
What do landlord tenant laws have to do with short term rentals? Are you saying landlord tenant laws should also apply to hotels, because that's what these essentially are. Talk about overreach...
-
Ohio General Assembly
Regardless of your opinion of who is pushing for short-term rental regulations, why is the state preventing municipalities from deciding how and where AirBnB's are appropriate?
-
Ohio General Assembly
How the hell does it not benefit her directly? She has an AirBNB rental that would be affected by this legislation. If it hurts cities, this legislature is all for it.

Thin high level clouds at the moment making it a little hard to see.

Ohio Intercity Rail (3C+D Line, etc)
Good initial step I suppose, but I won't hold my breath on the outcome of their "feasibility study".

Cleveland: Housing Market
@telefax All I said is that the cap felt low given where the market is. But not substantially so, IMO. Don't lump me in with the rest of that nonsense about Bibb.

Cleveland: Housing Market
I'd listen to the argument that a $350,000 cap is too low given the cost of housing at the moment. Only a quarter of the new build houses on the market are near or under the cap. Some of those so far under that I suspect they are subsidized. https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-search/Cleveland_OH/age-3/sby-1

2022 Ohio Gubernatorial Election
Cranley's first initiative when he took office was to try to kill their under construction streetcar project. As somebody that hopes to see that type of transit development in all the 3C's, hard pass on Cranley.

Cleveland: Tremont: Development and News
Perhaps. There was this about APL land next door to this site being purchased by Knez.
