Cleveland: Downtown: Skyline 776 (City Club Apartments)
Looks like they are loading material onto the roof. My guess would be for the facade. https://app.oxblue.com/open/Clevelandco/City-Club-Apartments

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
I don't get how this wasn't caught by inspectors months ago. Wouldn't fire proofing need to be approved before walls are closed up, like other MEP systems?

Cleveland / Northeast Ohio: "What If/Hypothetical/Dream" Construction and Projects Discussion
I would love to have Boston-level development on our lakefront. Cleveland's site plan for the stadium won't allow that level of density though.

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
It's in the Haslam's best interest to pay to demolish the current stadium. They wouldn't want the city keeping it open trying to attract events. Not sure how well the city would manage it, or even how long it would be viable with just a few events a year. The city should consider that in their calculus though.

Brook Park: New Cleveland Browns Stadium
I did too. My phone marked it as spam and I just deleted it.

Cleveland: Downtown: Skyline 776 (City Club Apartments)
For what it's worth they restarted work a couple weeks ago on the Western facade where the construction elevator was. I don't know if they have the colored panels for the penthouse floors yet but they have been installing the regular panels on lower floors. It'll be great to see this completely finished.

Cleveland: Midtown: Development and News
A small but appreciated update to the Children's Museum on Euclid Ave. They are putting a small addition for a new elevator and a glassy atrium on the back to better connect the main house with the annex. I haven't been here in a while but this is such an underappreciated asset. We used to go all the time but the kids aged out of it. Cleveland: Ohio City: Bridgeworks Development
Bridgeworks is going in front of Landmarks this week with another set of revisions. The facade is simplified even more since the September version. Arguably more cohesive. Looks decent from the Detroit/Superior bridge side. https://planning.clevelandohio.gov/landmark/agenda/2024/PDF/CLC-12-12-2024-AGENDA.pdf https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/fthrdkrqeqofv59iwzec9/AKVu_0LVILyTUFN5o40RvTg/BRIDGEWORKS_DESIGN REVIEW PACKAGE_12-06-2024.pdf?rlkey=47h0nv0h8cr37t5o3ekuq9n2r&e=1&st=083kmjno&bmus=1&dl=0

Really busy agenda for Landmarks this week. Walen and DLR Group's boutique hotel in Ohio City is up for schematic review. Here are a couple pics. As well funded as Geis seems to be, I'm surprised they were never able to pull the trigger on this themselves.

That's pretty glib from them considering their own (NRP's) design and site plan.

It's great seeing the two developments now side by side. I like the Silverhills project so much better. Much better site plan and sidewalk presence.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I'm not worried about that at all. It's not like the Warriors fell apart in the first round of the playoffs. They lost in game 7 of the finals after setting the record for wins that season.

Ohio Congressional Redistricting / Gerrymandering
State Republicans did a good job confusing people on what gerrymandering really is. Drawing competitive, proportional districts to unwind the current gerrymandered districts is in itself not gerrymandering or rigging the maps. It's the literal opposite of gerrymandering. If done properly our representation would more or less mimic our political bias. There would still be a strong Republican majority in the state house and senate, but not a supermajority.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Looks great aside from the obvious who's paying for it part. This is the level of development density I was hoping to see north of the current stadium.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
The city hasn't shown much interest in making an urban, neighborhood scale development on the lakefront. The latest plans show wide streets with a few buildings separated by plazas. If the Browns stadium were demolished I'd expect a push for more public space, not development, a mistake IMO. We'll see if the city releases alternative plans without Browns stadium.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
What, you don't like the 6 lane wide W.3rd bridge? If they insist on making a direct connection to the west shoreway from W.3rd, then eliminate the Lakeside ramp that bisects the lot. This gives you a development opportunity along Lakeside and improves pedestrian and traffic flow by keeping the cars getting on/off the shoreway away from the Warehouse District.
