Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Yeah I can't see them snaking around the buildings. How about dropping down below the intersection and popping up on the other side? That would be cool, even if just a fantasy.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
It's not just speculative. Shaker gave up site control a while ago for the next phase of the Van Aken District. What doesn't come up in the GIS is whether there's an easement or other agreement to preserve a path for a potential RTA expansion. Edit: The land use overlay in the full GIS app shows something, but I can't tell if this hasn't been updated since consolidating the parcels for Van Aken District or was left purposely for future extension. https://maps.cuyahogacounty.us/html5viewer/?viewer=ccgis&run=SearchByParcelPin&parcelpin=NzM2MDkwMTE=

Cleveland: Midtown: Development and News
The more the merrier. There is a lack of proper co-working space as it is. And anything that helps incubate more startups is a good thing.

Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
Agreed it's probably a lot more than the 220 they planned for in 2008. I forgot they leased that much space since then. Thanks for the reminder. https://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20110606/FREE/306069966/cliffs-adds-space-at-downtown-hq

Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
The only article I can find about Cliff's headquarters was from 2008 when they moved to 200 Public Square. At the time they had just 140 HQ employees with plans to add 80 more. https://www.cleveland.com/business/2008/07/clevelandcliffs_moving_headqua.html

AK Steel was #443 in the 2019 list. The combined revenue for the two should put the new company around 340-ish.

Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
These raw material companies don't have massive HQ staff so even if they combine the two, it wouldn't be a massive change. Hopefully the HQ stays in Cleveland of course.

Cleveland: Tremont: Development and News
Pic from a month ago on Electric Gardens off of Literary. I need to get a more recent pic. A lot of dirt was moved for this project, most of it just across the street for the next phase of the Towpath.

A bunch of single family homes recently finished. I would have taken more pics if I had more time. There are others under construction.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I'm tired of this damn story. He's suspended and the Browns have a game on Sunday. Time to move on.

Cleveland: Downtown: Justice Center Complex Replacement
Can they find space for their silly "campus" downtown or will we lose more employees for the Opportunity Corridor? There's been months worth of articles about the decrepit jail and need for reform to use as justification for whatever they decide.

Cleveland Rapid Rail Construction Projects (Non-Service Issues)
Made all the less likely since GCRTA (or Shaker?) gave away the right of way to extend the blue line through that intersection.

There's some useful information posted to the design review page for this project: http://planning.city.cleveland.oh.us/designreview/brd/detailDR.php?ID=3250&CASE=NE 2019-026 The overall site plan is online but it doesn't show the building floor plan. http://planning.city.cleveland.oh.us/designreview/drcagenda/2019/07192019/index.php

To NRP's credit they are well funded and get stuff done. I just wish they paid for better design and construction.

Cleveland: Downtown: May Company Building
Funny enough here's an article about Lakewood owning up to damage to houses around the hospital demolition. A bit of a different approach than Cleveland and Public Square it seems. https://www.cleveland.com/news/2019/11/residents-claiming-vibrations-from-former-lakewood-hospital-site-damaged-homes.html

Cleveland Browns Discussion
That's not at all what I said. Taking his lumps means Rudolph should have moved on after the tackle, not pick a fight with Garret.
-
Cleveland Browns Discussion
You can't just gloss over that. Context matters. It was a legal hit, and not even that hard. Don't pick a fight if you don't want the consequences. Rudolph should have taken his lumps and moved onto next week.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I was upset last night because I thought it was embarrassing for the team. After sleeping on it, I don't care. We watched Steelers players cheap shot and concus Browns players for years. I don't feel bad for them whatsoever. If Rudolph didn't want to get smacked in the head he shouldn't have picked a fight. I'm just ticked that Garret will be suspended for multiple games. It's a sign of immaturity and bad coaching. Like Baker said, don't do stupid sh*t to hurt the team. Play within the rules and between the whistle.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Garret's tackle of Rudolph wasn't even that hard to warrant that reaction by Rudolph. But Garret should have known better and taken the high road.

Cleveland: Cleveland Clinic News & Info
Let's see how hard it'll be to bring researchers to Cleveland after they open a second HQ in Florida (or wherever). It'll just make the existing problem worse for our region.

Freight Railroads
Sounds not unlike VC firms buying media/newspaper companies. The changes are more about extracting every dollar possible on the way to bankruptcy, not long term growth.
