  1. I'm disappointed they're demolishing the 3-4 story section on the western edge. Otherwise the addition looks pretty good.
  2. The case was tabled at design review a couple weeks ago. Curious if this will just be rubber stamped this week.
  3. A few renderings of the Astrup building. It appears they will open up some of the blank wall on West 25th. https://www.cleveland.com/business/2018/12/cleveland-foundation-board-oks-loan-for-astrup-project-on-citys-west-side.html
  4. I can only speak for myself but if I hit a view limit, I'd be more likely to not come back, than register an account. Some folks lurk for a long time before registering to post.
  5. See the latest posts in the John Hartness Brown / Euclid Grand thread https://forum.urbanohio.com/topic/1739-cleveland-downtown-john-hartness-brown-bldgs-euclid-grand/
  6. If the end result of this Blockland push is a more open investment community with deeper pockets, then I'd consider this a massive success. Even if blockchain itself fizzles out.
  7. Maybe Stark should try smaller projects that don't require an unusual amount of public subsidy.

I don't think so. Our chance of winning the North is done. We can get in if the Raven, Colts, and Titans lose their last 2. edit: The Colts and Titans play each other the last week of the season. So Browns need them to tie that game.?
  9. Mendo replied to ColDayMan's post in a topic in Sports Talk
They sure weren't. Everybody we hoped would lose won.
  10. In the next 2-3 years, I'd say at most one, either 925 Euclid or the Ohio Bell building. The others who knows if we're looking at a 5+ year timeline. Quite a few projects languish for years after securing the tax credits.
  11. Don't get me wrong, the greenway is a great idea and I want to see it built. As unlikely as it may be, if there is ever a political push for a new rail line into the city and it comes down to this greenway or commuter rail, au revoir greenway. RTA should be careful how it structures a lease or easements for this project to avoid another situation like the Blue Line terminus in Shaker.

I'm jealous of some of the Cincinnati streets. Here are a few of my favorites in Cleveland that haven't been posted. 13. Nice to see some progress on the next phase, even if it's the smaller buildings.
  14. I'm sure the results are being pasted in the various 3-C threads, but here are the overall results of Round 21 of the Ohio tax credits. 26 out of 39 applicants were awarded tax credits. https://development.ohio.gov/files/media/pressrelease/2018 1212 State Supports 26 Historic Rehabilitation Projects.pdf CENTRAL REGION 1223 East Main Street (Columbus, Franklin County) Total Project Cost: $1,550,000 Total Tax Credit: $191,000 Address: 1223 East Main Street, Columbus, 43205 1233 East Main Street (Columbus, Franklin County) Total Project Cost: $675,000 Total Tax Credit: $110,000 Address: 1233 East Main Street, Columbus, 43205 1278 East Main Street (Columbus, Franklin County) Total Project Cost: $420,500 Total Tax Credit: $60,000 Address: 1278 East Main Street, Columbus, 43205 1223 and 1233 East Main Street. 15. I went to a meeting at Forest City Brewery where reps from the Rotary Club presented their objection to RTA developing the hillside. While I love the idea of the greenway, I had a similar concern in the back of my mind about giving up the ROW for future rail expansion. Once people get used to green space it will be nearly impossible to give it up. Exhibit A is the hillside itself.
  16. That's crazy. Put the car in neutral and move it out of the way.
  17. Mendo replied to ColDayMan's post in a topic in Sports Talk
About the attendance, 1 win in 2 seasons plays a big part of that. You don't turn that around completely in a single season. The lines on the north side of the stadium are always faster. I don't get why everybody piles into the same 2 entrances.
  18. Feel free to post whatever renderings you have.
  19. Some more pics of Harbor Verandas on cleveland.com. I really wish this were taller. The design is good, it just feels pointless with just 16 units. https://www.cleveland.com/expo/life-and-culture/erry-2018/12/cc18ff039b2649/tour-the-luxury-harbor-veranda.html Here are a couple pics, see more at the link.
  20. I'm getting wary of the growing list of tax credits available for real estate development. Property tax abatements, state/federal Historic preservation, and growing use of TIF's, and now potentially this new tax credit and federal "Opportunity Zones". I sometimes worry they are creating a house of cards where nobody is paying their real value of their developments. HOWEVER, if the Koch backed Americans for Prosperity came out against it, I am all-in. Let's get it done.?
  21. Anybody interested in a separate thread for Church and State? I think too much stuff gets lost in this thread. The Quarter was a huge project, in hindsight could have had it's own thread.
  22. Odd comparison. The councilman might support the Dollar Store if it was going into the ground floor of a multistory mixed use building. Probably not what is being planned though.
  23. Wasn't the McDonald's abandoned due to pressure from the councilman and residents? There needs to a strong push from the councilman to push CPC and BZA to vote against it. What's there is pretty awful already so whatever replaces it should be better than that, Dollar Store or otherwise.
  24. How much of that is from the income tax increase?
  25. The Healthline was slow even before the fare checking started. Its crazy it's up to 45 minutes now
