Youngstown-Warren: General Business & Economic News
As recently as last year there were over 4000 employees at Lordstown before they cut the third shift. That 38% stat might be lagging behind the loss of third and second shifts.

Cleveland: Downtown: Skyline 776 (City Club Apartments)
Exciting news for sure. I think the 17 story Minneapolis building is probably similar to what we'll get. I hope they find a better architect though.

Cleveland: Historic Photos
That would be quite the cherished landmark if it was built (and still standing). I wonder if the Group Plan that followed 10 years later would have happened. Or even if the Tower City complex would have been built. Could have completely changed the landscape of downtown Cleveland.

Cleveland: Downtown & Vicinity Residences Discussion
That's pretty impressive. The demand is definitely there for Playhouse Square. That area has needed more residential for a while.

Pet Peeves!
People that message me at work with greetings like "hi" or "hello" and then wait for me to respond before asking their question. I get they are trying to be polite, but I don't need the pleasantries. Just get to your question. Them: hi. Me: Hello [5 minutes later] Them: How are you? Me: Fine. [5 minutes later] Them: can you help me with so-and-so?

New York City: Developments and News
That's some token gesture. The thousands of jobs in Nashville would make them one of the top employers in any of the 3-C's. I'd take that consolation prize.

Cleveland: Tremont: Development and News
I think that looks great.? Especially compared to some recent projects we've seen that look awful, like Edison phase 2 and Uptown phase 3.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon
^ Suspended scaffolding lowered from the roof, probably.

Cleveland: University Circle: Uptown (UARD)
The height and density is good for the corner. Way better than the 2 story retail building that was in the commercial listing. Putting Uptown phase 2 in the rendering doesn't do this buildings any favors. ? Otherwise looks about what I was expecting.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
That would be a massive wasted opportunity. If that's the best they can come up with, maybe it's time the city ends their relationship with Pace to find somebody able to do something big. edit: Here is the overhead of the warehouses: https://www.google.com/maps/@41.5082613,-81.7001439,373m/data=!3m1!1e3?hl=en

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Part of tanking is acquiring picks from other teams. You can't do that without assets to trade. And signing your own guys is the only way the Cavs will have something worth trading.

Cleveland: Random Quick Questions
Those cheap antennas you can get on Amazon are garbage. I'm in the same boat and can't pick up 8 and 19 easily. I keep meaning to install a better antenna in the attic but never get around to it. I just stream the games on the NFL mobile app through Verizon.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Lumen
To add to YABO's comment, concrete generates a fair amount of heat when it cures. They'll keep it covered to keep the temperature up during the week. If you check the cam, they are in the process of covering mat 2 now.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Lumen
They are in the middle of the second foundation pour if anybody wants to take a look at this morning's timelapse. Click on "Time-Lapses", then mat pour 1 or 2. The pictures for pour 2 start at midnight, but it doesn't look like they started work until 4am, so you'll have to go forward a bit. https://app.truelook.com/?u=gp1532442178#tl_live edit: Here is a direct link to a movie for mat pour 1. Cleveland: University Circle: Uptown (UARD)
A tease about 11601 Euclid Ave. We'll probably see pictures whenever they take it to the planning commission after local design review. It's listed as "student housing" on the agenda, so I don't have my hopes up for something high end. http://planning.city.cleveland.oh.us/designreview/drcagenda/2018/PDF/EC-Agenda-11-15-18.pdf 9:00 EC 2018-042 Uptown 3 Student Housing Seeking Schematic Approval 11601 Euclid Avenue University Circle District

Cleveland: Clark–Fulton / Stockyards: Development and News
I don't know how accurate Google Maps is, but it shows the eastern side of W. 25th to Clark as Tremont. Not that it matters I guess, these border projects benefit both neighborhoods. Agreed. Who knows what their long term plans are. Though, the SOP in Cleveland is to let it deteriorate for years, then complain that it's too expensive to maintain or renovate and must come down.

One thing many of those blue cities in red states have in common is shitty transit. And that is often because of lack of state support and active opposition -- looking at you Nashville -- for large scale expansion.

Cleveland: Duck Island: Development and News
Nobody goes to the building department with construction plans unless they've already gone through design review, block clubs, BZA, etc, which would have become public. Dimit's done a lot of restaurant interior renovations. Given it says "Markt" on the plans, it could just be a renovation of their Bier Markt space which wouldn't require all the city review (unless they touched the storefront which goes through landmark commission). Or maybe a second location?
