    Nope.

Browns gave up Gordon and their 7th round pick. Patriots gave up their 5th round pick.

Did the land Burke sits on even exist 100 years ago? The question is not whether a park can be considered the highest and best use of urban space. You are right, Central Park is proof that it can.:) But is it the best use for Burke. Central Park is surrounded on all sides by millions of people within walking, biking, and transit distance. Tell me what similarities you see with it and Burke, which is bounded by the lake to the North and 1000 feet of highway and rail to the south. Maybe if we see the political will to downgrade to the Shoreway to an at-grade road, create a street grid to improve access and allow significant development, I'd be all for it.

The region is already investing tens of millions in additional green space -- (1) Towpath and Lake Link trails to Wendy Park, (2) new Irishtown Bend and Canal Basin parks, (3) Red Line Greenway, (4) improvements to Edgewater, Huntington, and Euclid Beach, (5) and a potential massive expansion of Gordon Park east of Burke (if the stars align). And I guess the Metrohealth campus on West 25th, but that's more likely to be a grassy field than a "park". To say you are leaving Cleveland because they won't shut down Burke is just ridiculous. How about focusing that energy to push ODOT to re-align the Shoreway to reconnect Gordon Park. https://www.greenribbonlakefront.org/projects/gordonpark/

    And a park is?
  6. Is he one of these people?: https://www.clevescene.com/scene-and-heard/archives/2018/09/13/parade-of-ignorant-idiots-show-up-to-cuyahoga-county-council-to-oppose-lgbtq-protection-ordinance
  7. The site plan shows a 9 story apartment building tucked in the middle of the site. The main building will be retail with office space on the upper floors, so with the taller floor plates should still be pretty big. Here are a couple screenshots from the PDF.
  8. Another large local company may be bought out in 2021. Stanley Black & Decker buys a 20% stake in MTD, with an option on the remaining 80% in 2021. https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/stanley-black--decker-to-acquire-20-percent-stake-in-mtd-products-for-234-million-300710830.html
  9. Leadership of the Frango's group parking lot company was handed off to the son. The article on Crain's implies the company is looking to get more involved in real estate development. We'll see about that. http://www.crainscleveland.com/people/lou-frangos-hands-leadership-duties-son

Bad play calling on that last drive and first in OT. It was 3rd and 1 and they throw a deep seam route for incompletion. They lost the momentum

What is the justification for needing a permit? Usually there has to be some tangible benefit to justify a tax or fee, doesn't there?
  12. Some of these stories about city corruption seem to keep getting buried. I wonder how many buildings were needlessly torn down because he was bribed by contractors. https://www.cleveland.com/court-justice/index.ssf/2018/08/ex-cleveland_demolition_bureau.html https://www.cleveland.com/court-justice/index.ssf/2018/09/former_cleveland_demolition_bu.html
  13. AAO is hopefully more involved in the discussion than the single paragraph leads on. What is the realistic chance First Energy would consider that? Slim and/or none?:)
  14. Couldn't agree more.
  15. True, but it doesn't sound like there is any intention to maintain a ROW for a potential rail line. First Energy cites the wide path as a benefit for the future towers. I doubt they'd want to complicate that with an Amtrak (or whomever) line right next to them.
  16. Cleveland.com posted an article about that N&S right-of-way they are trying to sell in Aurora, KJP referenced above. There is barely a paragraph about AAO and their work to restore rail service between Cleveland Pittsburgh. https://www.cleveland.com/expo/news/erry-2018/09/3ef669889b9496/aurora-norfolk-southern-and-fi.html

The article on ESPN had an odd quote from Jays manager Josh Gibbons saying he was high strung but he'd miss him. What a weird thing to say about somebody out the door. With this move Ramirez is moving to second base and Donaldson takes third.
  18. A parcel was created earlier this year for the phase blocking the Blue Line. Not sure who owns it and there is nothing in the county GIS. The ship has probably sailed if the right-of-way is out of RTA and city's hands.
  19. I really like the mix of stores there and I hope its successful. It's a great example of TOD and something I wish could be copied elsewhere (future phase blocking the Blue Line notwithstanding).
  20. 5 months for excavation is much longer than I expected. Crane might be up by the end of the year?

Too bad. That would have been a good location. You pays your money. You takes your chances.
  22. Its interesting how quickly the density changes from Edgewater over 117th to the Gold Coast area of Lakewood. Lots of people making that trek across town.
  23. ^ One can guess they've had little luck reducing the vacancy in 45 Erieview? Maybe they've changed their tune?
  24. Those units on 126th are on Zillow. Not very inviting from the sidewalk. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/0000-E-126th-St-A-Cleveland-OH-44106/2088682070_zpid/ https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/0000-E-126th-St-C-Cleveland-OH-44106/2088681981_zpid/
  25. I'd like to see some contemporary examples in the 3-C. There have been a lot of townhomes built around Cleveland. Few have the same feel as the historic examples. I wonder if that's just the lack of patina on the buildings or the general form, like the front porch, setbacks, or whatever.
