There are ways to make the garage entrance safer, like setting the doors back 4-6 feet from the sidewalk, and cutting corners to maximize the view down the sidewalk. Not the most aesthetically pleasing, but it should at least be safe if we're stuck with it on Euclid.

That courtyard is ridiculously cool.

I actually like the office-building design. When I see metal gates and walled-off elevations, I assume they are trying to address security concerns. There has to be a way to "friendly up" the design. Whether that's putting the garage below grade and elevating the first floor above the garage, or simply putting an apartment on the first floor along the sidewalk.

Another apartment development in Ohio City, this one at Lorain and W. 41st. I like the somewhat-classic design and think it'll fit in well on the street. Sure seems that way. That article reads just like those about Hudson earlier this year. Even mentions a bridge loan for "pre-construction activity", just like they got last Spring for 925 Euclid. I'm not convinced he's further along in either project. Hudson might have been gambling on short term spike in building value using tax credits and "shovel ready" plans. If the tax credits are canned the value of these buildings goes into the toilet and Hudson is left holding the bag.

That's probably true. A comment in the article even said they bought it defensively. And I vaguely remember speculation in a previous article that Bedrock bought the Avenue District just to protect their parking.

That is one my favorite streets in Cleveland. Glad to see this building will be renovated.

Section 357.08(b)(2) which states that a 193’ rear yard is required and 0’ proposed. 2. Section 357.09(b)(2)© which states that a 97’ interior side yard is required and no interior side yard is proposed. 3. Section 353.01 which states that 250’ height limit is permitted and a 385.5 foot tall building is proposed. 4. Section 355.04 which states that the maximum gross floor area of the proposed building cannot exceed 1 ½ lot area or in this case 65,500 square feet allowed and 597,321 square feet proposed. This un-TOD project next to the Triskett station in Kamm's is scheduled to go before the CPC on Friday. It's extraordinarily difficult to make the World Series. Last year, they were knocking on the door of a title. Being up 3-1 in the WS and losing in 7 is "worse", but neither feels great... We'll get em next year. Let's go Tribe.

Like a lot of public infrastructure, it can be a weight around your neck when times are tough, and an asset when times are good. I don't know how much we subsidize Burke annually, but it would cost a fortune to build new. It seems shortsighted to tear it down now. The alternative is what, lightly used green space? Because the demand clearly isn't there for commercial/retail. Hell, we can barely get anything substantial built downtown as it is.
