  1. I just asked what location east of downtown you were talking about. You quoted something talking about the north coast harbor, which is not east of downtown. Maybe there was some other site you guys were talking about.
  2. Okay, that's the north coast harbor area where the stadium is right now. This is the comment you replied to: "They should have just given them that huge chunk of land on the eastern part of downtown like they wanted. There’s barely anything over there anyways. This is a huge loss for the city." There is no massive city owned land east of downtown for them to just "give away".
  3. What location are you talking about that's owned by the city?
  4. What do you mean they didn't tell anyone? They leaked it to you.
  5. Yeah the added commentary was weird. You can't Uber/Lyft to the stadium anyway because of geofencing. The closest you can get from the south is Lakeside. The land bridge would make a third entry/exit point to stadium area.
  6. That floor is mechanical, not actual office space
  7. Not much to see but there's a page up for the Driftwood project at (edit) Fairfield and 11th. Mentions a restaurant/bar as an amenity. I wonder who the operator will be. https://www.live-driftwood.com/
  8. Link leads to a 404. Any grab the download before it disappeared?
  9. The confusion is from the article mentioning two different expansion projects without really explaining either. From what I remember NOACA's recommendation was to focus on expanding east-west routes, like the Capitol and Lake Shore, over building out the 3C+D. I didn't think this would add a station at Hopkins. The ORDC and Columbus sought funds for the 3C+D project instead, which would likely have a stop in Hopkins. In either case downtown would need a new hub, unless someone thinks the 3C+D route terminates at the airport which would be extremely unlikely and stupid.
  10. Google turns up this link which I'm guessing where you copied that from: https://www.insideindianabusiness.com/articles/swift-victory-how-lucas-oil-stadium-became-a-stop-on-historys-biggest-tour#:~:text=Lucas Oil Stadium hosts more,3%2C 2024. It doesn't mention the nature of the events. How many of those are weddings, corporate events, or other gatherings better served somewhere other than a $2 billion dollar stadium.
  11. Phase 2 will likely play second fiddle to HQ1 so I wouldn't expect a more interesting or expensive facade. My expectations aren't particularly high. I'll be happy to see another couple years with a tower crane at least.
  12. The conversion to for-profit is just a side effect of being bought by private equity, who are often just an arms length from corporate raiders of the 80's. Hospitals owned by private equity are harming patients, reports find https://arstechnica.com/health/2024/01/hospitals-slash-staff-services-quality-of-care-when-private-equity-takes-over
  13. If precedent meant all projects have to be reviewed with the same conditions, then cities can't ever change their policies. That's obviously not realistic. The city has been talking about requiring public access to the water for years, partly because of projects like Lindy's and Collision Bend that don't have it.

Your quote from the article said Dewine intends to write rules on the standards for adult transition care. Legislatures don't write comprehensive rules on heart care. They don't require psychiatric care before doctors can prescribe Nordisk treatment. @jonoh81 said it better above. They are setting up hoops for adults and children to jump through that they don't require for any other type of care (not that I'm suggesting they should).

Is Dewine or anybody in the statehouse either of those?
  16. Mendo replied to zaceman's post in a topic in Ohio Politics
It says right in your quote they intend to write rules on what transition care for adults will look like. Letting the medical community, instead of legislatures, decide best practices while taking patient's situation into context would be a more caring and reasonable approach, IMO. They won't write rules on home schooling though.
  17. The entire Prospect side is vacant. Their leasing page lists a few big chunks of space that could be combined. https://www.themaycleveland.com/retailopportunities
  18. ^ I would agree anything like the west shoreway would be a colossal failure. It needs to be more city street and less "boulevard". The high level pictures don't inspire confidence though. But none of that means we shouldn't try.
  19. Here is the stream from Landmarks on 11/30 starting at this presentation. I didn't really watch it so I'm curious what issues they had besides the usual. https://www.youtube.com/live/rJqDvx6-WEQ?si=wF0pqD7lPpojxZKs&t=11539
  20. And the townhome style units around the corner on Garden Ave.
  21. Design package for this project is online from Landmark's agenda couple weeks ago.
  22. The full design package for Dalad Group's project is public now. Link to dropbox
  23. All the more reason to reroute freight trains away from downtown.
  24. An interesting article and worth a read for other cities, but like a lot of national articles it gets a few bits wrong. Especially generalizations like the above. ^^. And this: Public Square was separated long before cars were the dominant mode of transport.
