Cleveland: Downtown: The 9 / Rotunda / County Admin Development
County headquarters building progress. I'm surprised the eastern half of the building was completely filled in with dirt. Originally the entire space was excavated. Not sure why you wouldn't want the basement spanning the entire building. Basements are always useful for additional parking, storage, whatever.

Cleveland: Downtown: East 4th Street Developments
For anybody wondering what's happening with the Butcher and Brewer space across from La Strada, here are some interior photos. I don't peak in there often, so I don't know if there is really any progress.

Progress at Red the Steakhouse. Interior build out continues. These guys are working late and weekends to get this opened in the Fall.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
You are right. I stand corrected. His numbers are 21/50 RBs in the last year. http://espn.go.com/blog/statsinfo/post/_/id/73115/colts-fill-specific-needs-with-richardson I still think the guy had potential.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
The hell I can't. Cousins has no business being a starting lineman. Schwartz sucks too, but he's at least a decent pass blocker. Getting contact behind the line of scrimmage isn't on the runner most of the time. T-Rich's yards after first contact is near tops in the league. The dude is strong and made decent gains despite the turnstile in front of him. He may not become an elite running back but he had a nose for the endzone. That makes him worth more than just yards per carry.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
There's an understatement. :| The team was obviously tanking from the get-go. Giving T-Rich so much time off during training camp, then just 15 and 18 carries in the first two games, despite being relatively effective behind a shitty offensive line.

Cleveland: Downtown: Hilton Cleveland
Cleburger said it earlier. Make the hotel a mixed use project with apartments or condos on the top floors. It would guarantee a constant income flow, and the location and views would ensure a high price per square foot.

Cleveland: Retail News
I think he made it pretty clear he worked for Titans. titangeoff, I did in fact stop by Titans recently and they quoted me a price that is comparable to Fitworks. I haven't joined yet, but I likely will. Thanks.

Cleveland: Demolition Watch
I emailed the CPC about 3600 Euclid about a month ago when it first appeared on the agenda for demolition. I was curious how they voted. It was tabled until this week's agenda so they could actually walk through the property to see if it was as bad reported. Just looking at the photos it seems like there is nothing but cosmetic issues with the building. I hope the CPC denies the motion.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
Why would you replace MMPI with a company that manages hundreds of properties across the country? What incentive would they have to bring new shows and tenants to the merchandise mart? It sounds like we would be better served with an up-and-coming company that is hungry. Maybe I'm misunderstanding MMPI's role.

Cleveland: Opportunity Corridor Boulevard
I don't support the 271 widening either, but there are reasons to protest a road project through urban areas that have nothing to do with money.

Cleveland: University Circle: Cleveland Clinic Developments
They already own the surface lot just east of the church. Looking at the aerial view on Google maps, the space looks about 110x200ft. That should be enough to build a hotel using the entire parcel, with an entrance and valet service right off East 86th. But I bet that was never a consideration. It would have to be pretty tall, but density should be expected along Euclid -- not the exception. Between this and the crappy site plan for the new CSU building.

Of course. The Indians are just 1.5 games back of the last wild card spot. They have to keep winning though.

Browns games don't sell out either. I go to a few games every year. Other than the first couple games, the rest are at most 3/4 full. There is large institutional buying so the games aren't blacked out. Not as bad as an Indians game, but the Browns aren't immune to falling interests.

Cleveland: Downtown: Euclid & 9th Tower / Schofield Building Redevelopment
They are finally removing the last bit of the aluminum facade on the narrow strip on the west side next to the City Club building.

Cleveland: Transit Ideas for the Future
17% of the county works in 1% of the area. It can't be cost effective to shuffle people around from suburb to suburb.

Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
I think we forget there are far too many apologists in this city for crappy urban design. I expect quite a few that go to CSU actually like urban density. Shouldn't we expect density along the corridor the county spent a fortune reconstructing?

Cleveland: Downtown: May Company Building
The Huntington Building disagrees. The Parking Lot district might too.

Cleveland - before/afters , and works-in-progress
Amazing what opening up entrance ways with large new windows does to old buildings. I don't get why so many were bricked or boarded up. It looks like shit and feels cold and foreboding.

Downtown Cleveland Christmas Lights part 2.
The Christmas displays sure seemed more elaborate back then. Thanks for the photos.

^ And Santana's, and Swisher's, and Kipnis'. Our infield defense is pretty crappy all around. This isn't even the first 4 error day. It ties the season high. edit: That stupid play by Kipnis should have been error #5. Why not just flip the damn ball to A-cab? If the Twins didn't suck, we would be out of this game.

Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
^ Pizza Hut is moving into one of the spaces in the Langston. It'll probably do well considering Rascal House sold their soul so CSU can build another crappy building with greenspace.

Uncivil Posts
Hey, screw you buddy! :x Sorry, reflex. You are seeing the natural evolution for any internet forum. You can't really avoid it if you hope for any kind growth. The alternative is to clamp down on sense offenders, but that's only going to kill the forum momentum. There will always be some noise to the signal. Have to tune it out or go out of your way to post more signal. I don't really have insider contacts or anything to get breaking news. The best I can do is post the occasional construction photo.

I would rather have a shot at winning the division. A seat at the big dance or one game toss up to get in?
