Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
Something just doesn't make sense, in the numbers at least - 5 years ago when the merger occurred, continental was profitable at CLE (according to what MD88 said above with the state AG and continental CEO vouching). Then yesterday, united's letter says they have been losing tens of millions of dollars annually for over a decade at CLE as a hub. So who's lying here? Or is the truth somewhere in between? There's an article on Crains in regards to GCP aggressively courting other airlines to make up the losses from this. I just hope they can. (sorry, I'm on my phone but I'll find the link later)

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
^I'm not at all bothered by this building's height. It's a good size and, really, bonus office space in an off-beat location (for new class-A office development) based on the success of the E-Y tower… which IS a substantially tall office building. I gotcha. It just looks like something that would be at chagrin highlands, not downtown. But it is what it is I presume.

I'm going to reserve my full opinion until it's finalized and built... But my initial reaction is - ouch. I want vertical buildings!!!

Cleveland: Steelyard Commons
You think Steelyard needed Villa and Mattress Firm? Steelyard is full of potential, with shoppers of many different demographics packing the place every day. All income levels from all sorts of neighborhoods are represented in the client base. It's been mentioned that Steelyard has already turned a profit compared to Legacy, etc. I would expect the developers to try and build on that success and attract stores of a higher quality, not lower (Burlington is fine). What about a Kohl's, Toys R Us, IKEA, Container Store, Dicks Sporting Goods, Pier 1, Michaels, a furniture store. I don't enjoy traveling out to Willo-mentor Beachlake to shop at every day stores like this. I'm sure with the proximity to Downtown and growing neighborhoods around Downtown, these options would fare well. Just my opinion, as someone who shops at Steelyard often due to convenience. I'm pretty surprised a kohls hasn't come up in the convo for steelyard quite frankly. But what do I know!

Doubtful. There's a heck of a lot more than 25,000 residents and workers combined From 2012: http://www.cleveland.com/datacentral/index.ssf/2012/06/downtown_cleveland_remains_a_m.html

Philadelphia: Developments and News
We should have done this when they built Comcast. Now, we just need to add about 30 more stories :D

That's nuts. Good for them, though.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
Sorry... One of my friends who knows someone related to the Flats development. Don't want to start a rumor! I just want to know if anyone has heard anything.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
Has anyone heard anything about Toby Keith pulling out of phase 2?? Someone texted me saying he pulled out of the lease agreement but I can't find anything anywhere. If true, that's a pretty big blow.

Cleveland: Downtown: Hilton Cleveland
Construction has started. The old admin building is currently undergoing abatement, and once that's complete, demolition and excavation will commence.

Cleveland: Hotel Development
Agreed. It's cheap and can lead to significant moisture infiltration, which can then lead to mold issues, if not installed properly.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
I agree. Their food is good, service is lacking. Glad they're still open though... Last thing we need is another empty storefront on W9.

Until next Sunday! Lol

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
I don't want to speculate, but it appears BRGR9 on W9 has bit the dust as well... Walked by on Friday and it said "closed for kitchen maintenance today Friday Dec 6", and wouldn't you know it - the place is still dark today.. When can the bleeding from the WHD stop? :(

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
I see it as #4. But what's funny, is that Houston's description boasts "the second largest theatre district in the nation"... Wasn't there convos about this claim in the PHS thread at one point? This is the first time I've ever seen it in an article.

Cleveland: Downtown: Hilton Cleveland
Glad the response to these renderings are a bit more positive than they were initially. I really love this building!

Cleveland: Downtown: Hilton Cleveland
Man, I'm bummed about the reaction. I really think it's a cool building and something we don't have in Cleveland yet. And it's better than what's sitting on the site currently. I hope more of the 3D renderings come out. I've seen some that are more realistic and less CAD looking and it really is a cool building. Oh well, everyone's entitled to their opinion. Sorry if I hyped it up too much!

Cleveland: Downtown: Hilton Cleveland
I hope you're not disappointed. The renderings I have seen make me really excited.

KJP - in addition, we are doing the new Wilshire Grande in downtown LA, which will be LA's new tallest, along with a four seasons in Orlando, and countless others across the world. Hotels definitely are one of our sweet spots. So excited for this project!!!
