Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
No tower crane needed. The Snavely project is only going to be five stories tall. Right, but regardless of the height, I don't think there's anywhere to put a walking crane where it could still boom out all the way across the site. That it a tight site. Unless they closed a lane on Detroit to stage a crane. Ageee. Tower cranes aren't used just for height, but also site constraints. Take Columbus's short north. Some of the new infill doesn't require a tower crane based on height, but rather site constraints.

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
Put yourself in a developers shoes... underground parking is approximately $45k/spot to build while above ground is $15-20k/spot. It's not as simple as "just put one or two stories underground"

Cleveland: Downtown: Cleveland Athletic Club Redevelopment
^ it appears so. At least demolition and abatement is ongoing. Precision Environmental has an office on the first floor, Euclid side. When you look through the windows you can see the debris has been cleared and certain walls are marked for demo.

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
^ if a CM is expected in December, work could start as early as February. Just depends on financing, drawings, permitting, etc..

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
This is a very big, complicated project that takes years to realize in a difficult market like Cleveland. If the financing closes next month, that would be a remarkably fast advancement for a project of this scale. Even if it closes early next year, that would still be a fast turnaround. Let's have a little context/perspective, people. Am incorrect in stating that this is the 3rd of 4th time we have expected financing to close "within the next month?" If I am way off on this, I apologize and admit I am wrong. But I have heard that the rubber is close to meeting the road several times, and with 515 Euclid's groundbreaking on the horizon, it just appears that Stark has bitten off quite a bit. 515 Euclid is far off too. Cleveland will not be seeing any new highrises downtown for a while. These are all just plans. It's nice to get excited about, but it's Cleveland, let's not hold our breath. Sources? Bc I've heard otherwise.

Cleveland: Downtown & Vicinity Residences Discussion
In general, glass and curtain wall systems have had large lead times as of late. I've been told that during the recession, one of the big companies went out of business thus the overall production capacity dropped off. Not saying this is what's going on at your building, but it's definitely a real problem in the construction industry.

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
The Crop closures don't surprise me, although I did enjoy their food, drinks, and atmosphere (I seem to be in the minority here). The flipside rumor is confusing to me, because every time I'm at Willeyville I see people nonstop funnel into that restaurant. They always seem to have a steady customer stream. Hoping it's not true...

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
I am tad concerned about Punch Bowl, too. They just have so much space and it's got to be a pretty penny. When crowds let down even a little, it's going to make Punch Bowl seem semi-empty. In the summer when more people want to sit outside, the place may suffer-- although PB has outdoor seating, too. I hope it works out; it's a fun place... The Taco's at Coastal were OK, but I really liked the place esp its outdoor deck ... although they can't out-deck Alley Cat. I've heard that the CLE punchbowl is the highest grossing in the chain of 11 restaurants they have thus far.

I can't believe they are open... Drove by today and could still use another 3-4 weeks of construction time on the exterior work to say that least.

^ that was mentioned above already. I think it had more to do with the owner passing than the K&D redo but I could be completely wrong.

Has anyone heard if Stonetown closed on Prospect? I walked by there Monday and Tuesday around 8pm and the lights were off and doors shut, even though it said they were open til 11pm. No signs were on the doors at that point.

i hope MM stays downtown, and I think they will just based on their involvement and constant sponsorship of downtown events as well as what the did in Columbus. But I found that piece of the article interesting. Outside of ikea and MM, I don't know what other tenants for that much land would be looking.

Hopefully this has nothing to do with what you posted... http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20160301/NEWS/160309979/1111/rss28 Plan before Cleveland City Council could free up land for development in eastern suburbs specifically, "Nichols said the decision to revise the deal was prompted by an inquiry by a prospect for a parcel in Highland Hills. Neither Nichols nor Douglas Miller, president and CEO of Jacobs Group, would disclose the name of the prospect."
