Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
My understanding was that UA/CO was responsible for paying that debt (or said differently, responsible for paying rent on Concourse D until the debt was retired). Anyone know for sure? Per a 2016 Cleveland.com story noting the extension of lease on 14 gates and the United Club - through 2029 - there was this: United is still on the hook for paying off the outstanding debt on the $110-million concourse; it should be paid off in 2029." http://www.cleveland.com/travel/index.ssf/2016/03/united_airlines_reduces_gate_o.html Another story from WKYC says United is paying $1M+/month to not use D... http://www.wkyc.com/money/business/as-cleveland-pockets-millions-for-closed-concourse-d-travelers-look-for-better-options/351754256

I saw Shake Shack on a published Pinecrest leasing map as early as Fall 2015... well prior to the Nucleus announcement.

IKEA - Cleveland
"IKEA focused on Cleveland..." - was supposed to open in CLE 1st per their president: http://www.dispatch.com/news/20170606/with-columbus-store-ready-to-open-ikea-now-focused-on-cleveland

IKEA - Cleveland
From WKYC last night: http://www.wkyc.com/life/shopping/northeast-ohio-ikea-prospects-remain-as-columbus-opens/445355419 The IKEA rep's language about no specific timeline or committed location in CLE is similar language with regards to "location and timeline" to what he has used in other metros just prior to store announcements... In Norfolk and Raleigh, both announced in the last year, he has used almost identical language - in published reports of IKEA rumors - within 3-4 months of store announcements. (He has other language for use when there is not a chance of a store, etc...)

IKEA - Cleveland
IKEA update: Both Raleigh-Durham and Nashville had new IKEA stores announced in the last week, alone... Unreal. Of the top 40 markets noted above, 37 will now have stores - and Cleveland/NEO will be the only region in the top 37 not to have one. http://www.tennessean.com/story/news/2017/05/25/ikea-nashville-announcement/345242001/ http://www.bizjournals.com/triangle/news/2017/05/18/ikea-confirms-plans-for-2020-store-opening-at-cary.html The one change from most recent announcement of stores/articles about/leading up to announcements - the past few years - is a comment that it takes a long time to find a location for one of their stores (and have looked in said market for x year..- them mentioning they are still looking in CLE after years without a site)

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
From CLE Facebook post today (that's lots of gates for AA - 7 in C... More than previously stated?): "Attention American Airlines passengers! AA will begin moving their operations from Concourse A to Concourse C at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport at midnight tonight. The new gates they will be using are C2, C3, C4, C5, C8, C10 and C14. They will however remain at gates A1 and A3 as they transition."

Possible Move...Phx to Cle
PhxToCle: Is a safe neighborhood/city important to you and/or what level of real world issues are you willing to live with to get the mix of what you are looking for? You didn't state that, nor was that addressed in responses... The places the posters note above almost uniformly offer the types of things you are looking for, but some have realities that not everyone would be prepared for or comfortable with... That may be exactly what you are looking for. But, if not, ask some questions....

Euclid: Development and News
Info above says 4 local Amazon facilities are rumored to be in the overall Amazon plans for CLE. The Euclid mall spot would appear to be a full Amazon warehouse/fulfillment center (not sure if large or small package.. they sometimes build both in an area... to handle different types of products). This is an unusual urban location for an Amazon FC (my company ships to dozens of them, most rural...) The recently opened Twinsburg facility is a sortation center that merely sorts orders sent from other Amazon facilities down to the post office closest to delivery address. The smaller, already operating Euclid facility is a delivery center, from which packages from other Amazon locations are sent directly to consumers via couriers, etc The 4th facility rumored is quite possibly a Prime Now hub from which items could be delivered to consumers within hours of order.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
Word from someone said to be involved is that the center-of-town Gamekeeper's Taverne space in Chagrin Falls - which just closed, after 40 years, this past weekend - is already in line for a makeover into Zack Bruell's next venture. Remodel said to start in two weeks.. I guess we'll see if that' true... But this would be a hot, hot spot if so...

Top 100 Hottest OpenTable restaurants list just released - includes Lola - which apparently just dumped the service for the upstart RESO. An awfully high profile restaurant for OpenTable to lose... https://www.opentable.com/m/diners-picks-hot-spot-restaurants-in-america-for-2017/

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
If anything the article points out that businesses like Big Bang, with multiple locations (in relative boomtowns like Nashville and Columbus) are doing more business in Cleveland.

Panini's and Bar Symon both seem to be licenses that United Concessions has...Perhaps just swapping out brands... though the Symon play in CLE will be huge.Curious if they will expand/take some gate space next to space as Panini's wasn't all that large (Bar Symon PIT prob 3-4x this size.) http://unitedconcessionsgroup.com/contact-us/

So apparently a Bar Symon is replacing the just-closed C concourse Panini's? (Saw the Facebook talk then found construction bids). Ate at Bar Symon PIT airport location and it was very good - as though an off-site restaurant. Haven't seen any sign of a Noodlecat but they got a liquor license for CLE 6-9 months ago. Now if AA would just move gates sooner than later Spring-Summer as I last heard.

Margaritaville - a top vacation stop for many travelers to warmer climates - will be a draw. A big draw - any personal preferences by some (it was pretty medicore when I have been there) aside.

What? You're mad because they only have 2 seatings at Sandy's restaurant? If that's what the guy wants to build, so what? Two seatings?? I never know what you're talking about. And I'm as stumped why 600 closed feet of Superior Ave = the end of the world to so many on this board. We each have our likes, dislikes, priorities...

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
Sandy Cutler & son's passion project -- the place is under construction and looks better every day at the corner of SOM Center and Chagrin Blvd - BUT: 2 seatings a night (5:30 and 8:30)... Only those with dining reservations allowed at the bar... My interest level dropped in a major way after a I heard that... "A list of things are beginning to align — a name change; the start of hiring nearly 40 employees; and the naming of John Stropki, executive chef for eight years with Eaton Corp., as the new executive chef — that mean a spring opening of a new high-end French-American restaurant in Moreland Hills is on track." http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20170122/NEWS/170129971/cru-uncorked-owners-create-dream-concept
