  1. Concerning the 3-C corridor passenger rail project and post # 836, June 14, I haven't any discussion about using DMU's as a Secondary rail service. What possible secondary routes could be used in conjunction with the 3-C service?
  2. :?Port Authority Transit, Pittsburgh and Allegheny county is offering three new transit plans. What do think of these proposals? Go to KDKA Radio. Click under the bus. Can we learn anything for Cleveland?
  3. How do I see the pictures? The descriptions are there. Mrniles
  4. :?This morning, on my way to work,(Weathersfield Twp., which is between Niles and Warren on Deforest Rd. I think it is a lightly used(not much anymore) B & O line. The old Erie, track removed is next to this line. There is some type of trailer used for an office. I saw passenger cars. They were sort of dark maroonish with Chipawa Valley Railway on it. Can anybody explain?
  5. As to #3531, in Cleveland in general.
  6. As to my #3531 post,I was interested in how the routes should be planned and etc.
  7. :?What circulators are necessary?( I am from Niles and hardly get to Cleveland.) Do they have to be more frequent than an hour? Do they need to be big or small vehicles?
  8. :?Does anyone have any further news on the Crain Ave. bridge train derailment in Akron?
  9. Are these Electric Trolley buses? :?
  10. :? Check out today's,(Oct. 11,2008) Vindicator. Front page article and map of the proposed Hike - Bike trails. Ed Runyan wrote it. (He is a Vindicator staff writer) They mentioned all the trails that could connect with each other. It was mentioned the Heritage trail could be the route of any High Speed Rail. (Former E-L line) The article states the Bike trail and rail could co-exist. Comments.
  11. I saw on Youtube, videos on the diesel Sprinter in the burbs of San Diego. They showed a two and three car train. Would that work in the Cleveland area? I am sure they would have to run on some kind of duel power to go into Tower City or maybe the old Shaker station area.
  12. #4, Aug. 14, 2008. Can any one do a satellite map of the line that would go through Warren? I see the Little single tracked, curvy line that passes not far from the fire station daily. What would have to be done to it to make it ready for passanger rail?

FYI:Check out Denver Transit. They have a zone fare system for the light rail. Can something like this be used in Cleveland? The central city has a cheeper fare.
  14. Thank you. Cleveland-Youngstown-Pittsburgh needs it's own thread.
  15. Post # 2843, about Trolleybuses or conversions. Do a search for "Trolleybus News". There is a lot to see. Check out what Seattle has done. They have a lot of experience with all types of trolleybuses. The duel mode ones that used to be run in the Tunnel by electricity overhead and diesel on the surface were no wires are. They took a Gilleg bus or buses and put trolleybus guts into it.
  16. Can anyone be a little more specific on the $33 million that can be saved by not using overhead wires for the Euclid line? What about the use of wind, solor or etc. to generate power for electric transit in Cleveland?
  17. I have been reading post # 2561 again and again. From what I have been reading on UO, RTA must think about doing some or all of the things mentioned. Add cars and etc.I like the idea of clerks or what ever they should be called, on the platform. The last time I rode the Library line, in Pittsburgh, they had a simple building for a station monitor.(A real person). You could ask questions. They were not hidden away like in the old Rapid stations. You could talk to them if they weren't busy. Post # 2562 What is the cost of operating a 2 or more car train? This hasn't been answered as of yet.

:?I was trying to find the 10 Heavist bus routes in Cleveland that could be electrified. I had no luck. Can anybody help out? I did do a search for Electric Trollybusses. There is a lot of vehicles to see from Europe. They use them to feed the rails. I remember being in Toronto many years ago, when they had plain trollybuses. It fed the subway. It was a much better ride than a bus.
  19. Do you remember the NOACA Commuter Rail study of some years ago? I went to the Kent meeting. They had some sample possible schedules. There were none to be handed out by NOACA. They kept them to themselves I guess. Does anyone have a reprint they can post? I have tried to find it with no luck. Thanks
  20. I have a relative that lives in the Short North area, 4Th & High. Would this be near the proposed Streetcar? :?
  21. There is so much to generate good traffic between Cleveland-Youngstown-Pittsburgh. I heard about the Casino-Hotel plan for the New Castle area. I talked to someone who lives close to New Castle. I ask how far is the rail line from the proposed Casino. He says not far. Does any body know how close the rail line would be to the action?
  22. :-)Thanks for doing the maps so fast.
  23. :? Can any of you mapers do a map of the Akron rail lines that could be used for the rail proposals mentioned above. Also the streetcar line mentioned. Thanks.
  24. :?I have always wondered what is the Old Shaker station's condition at Tower City. What can be run through there? To expand capacity or something? Does anyone have any pictures to better understand what is down there.
  25. :? Does Cleveland, Akron, or Youngstown have any Streetcar plans simular to what Cincinatti or Columbus has?
