  1. It's amazing that "Huber" city hall doesn't want to claim this area. You call zoning violations into them and they are like "Where?". Yeah. Google maps aren't their strong suit (or they are too busy screwing around playing Pac Man on them :P )
  2. Trying to picture a KFC down here, maybe that's what the Chinese place is now?
  3. http://wdtn.com/2014/09/24/why-you-may-soon-be-able-to-live-here/
  4. Too much to cover from the past few months, but long story short. The music center is ALMOST complete, the Goodsports center may never happen. GS has had legal issues in other cities, so this project is suspended for the time being. 22 Million dollars, so we're way over budget for the "Heights". I think the voters will fix these issues at the ballot box in November 2015 when council members are up for re-election. 'Nuff said
  5. Holy Sh!t!!! Of the top 100 cities in the country, Cincinnati's the 3rd safest and Dayton's the 2nd!?! Front page news! Did the mayors pay for that?
  6. There was a total of 2 murders. Both suspects found not guilty on the murders, but one of them is doing a few years on a gun specification(wasn't allowed to own one). Not sure where "all the murders" were, but they weren't in Huber.
  7. Really, anything south of Chambersburg might be included in this "dump" thread
  8. Large fight on Wayne Meadows late Friday night. They had everything on the ground out here for it too. I just hope there was nothing else going on in Huber Heights at the time.

Call the city and report them as abandoned vehicles that need towed! :yap:
  10. Actually, Glenburn Green is the true "section 8" property. It is a smaller version of "Desoto Bass" :yap:
  11. Go read the "25 most dangerous cities" thread on Topix. It's a wonder that somebody hasn't sued them yet. If it isn't personal libel, some "inside information" getting out etc. Yikes.
  12. Sorry, just looking through this thread with today's update (Great news on the News-Sun building!) and saw this above. Some reasons why Austin Blvd. have been a failure so far are 1. It's very retail-heavy. It was supposed to be nearly 100% commercial and entertainment, now as far as land area goes it is about 40% retail 2. Few NEW jobs created. Most were just poached from somewhere else in the Miami valley. 3. Development is not progressing as quickly as expected (the benchmark in this case is Union Centre) 4. The entertainment aspect is gone (not that I'm complaining - Dayton has too many suburban entertainment venues already) 5. The exit is more of a local draw rather than a regional (Cin-Day) draw. Again the benchmark here is Union Centre. Well, obviously, the Dayton Mall is staying put. That big investment in the outdoor mall proves they will fight the good fight and probably still be there another 50 years. I still think, somewhere down the line, there will be a mall for Springboro. Maybe something like the Greene. I just don't see people wanting to travel all the time, and the population explosion there would certainly warrant one.
  13. Yeah, I noticed his name, and thought I hit the wrong button, since I have both forums on the bookmark bar. LOL
  14. Meth lab, back on Waynedale(where many of those pictures were taken) http://www.abc22now.com/shared/news/top-stories/stories/wkef_vid_18504.shtml
  15. Given the active winter we've had, maybe a good idea?
  16. People are calling Austin Landing a failure. When I asked why they said that, nobody can name a reason.
  17. Actually CV has opened near Donatos at Old Troy and Powell I've heard on many accounts that the Wise Guy owner doesn't pay his employees. If that's true, he's pretty much done for.
  18. I hope the roads get widened. Nearby Huber Heights is already clogged as it is. We're getting a "Heights" development (shopping, music center, etc) and this combined with the Racino is gonna be a gridlock issue.
  19. On a Huber Heights "Facebook" group, one idiot said to tear all of this down(INCLUDING THE PLAZA, HOUSING AND ALL) and start over. He doesn't realize there's about 600 people that live back here and the few dozen jobs that people work at up there.
  20. Oh, and 3 years later, still little work done on "The Heights" in Huber. Ampitheatre and Aquatic Center being the only 2 things. I guess no big hurry, right? :-D
  21. According to the article, the information can be accessed wirelessly so it seems the criminals could leave it there for as long as they wanted. I would guess the people behind this probably assumed this would be found at some point in time and have no intention of coming back to retrieve the device. That's why its considered "High tech" :D
  22. FTFY on the McLin thing(hahahahahaha!!!) I think I was only in the mall one time also. Around 1988 or '89. Grandpa was in Englewood Manor and needed a good phone for his room. We went to the AT&T store. I remember there being some vacancies, but it seemed like a decent mall from that one time.

  25. Yeah, on the pictures, the one payday loan place is a Cricket store, the only things in the plaza are Dollar General, Cousin Vinny's pizza, a barber shop and the China one
