NFL: General News & Discussion
I hate to say it, but I feel the same. As a lifelong Browns fan, the Broncos have certainly inflected more deep and penetrating wounds than the Steelers have (plus I just watched a special on "The Drive" on ESPN Classic recently, so may distain for Denver is at peak levels).

Cleveland Barons Discussion
^ That was one thing that made me proud of Cleveland, none of sports venues had yet to plastered with bland corporate names. Oh well, knew it would happen eventually.

Cleveland-Lakewood: Enhance Clifton Transit Project
^ My sentiments as well. I think if real investments are made for TOD, increased ridership will follow, which will lead to justifiable expansion in the future. I must say though, I'm not sold on BRT, just seems like a glorified bus to me. Oh well, if it increases public transit use in general, I won't complain. Also, KJP, those pics from LRT in France are amazing. It would be amazing to see something like that here.

MAC: General Conference News & Discussion
From WKYC's site. The roo is making some noise!$!$! Posted 1/10/2005 "Fear the Roo" is all the rage in Akron. With three Zips teams winning MAC titles this fall, school merchandise is hotter than ever. And the university unveiled this new slogan to go with it. The problem is that it's almost too successful. In December, sales jumped 400-percent from the year before. They sold out of "Fear the Roo" merchandise more times than students could count. But, fear not! The University of Akron just got a new shipment of merchandise Tuesday morning and now you can even buy on-line. http://wkyc.com/akron/akron_article.aspx?storyid=45955

Cleveland Barons Discussion
I saw this posted on NewsNet5.com earlier. Barons To Leave Cleveland After Season Minor League Team Moving To Mass. POSTED: 11:54 am EST January 9, 2006 CLEVELAND -- There is some bad news for Cleveland hockey fans -- the Barons are heading out of town. The president of Cleveland's minor league hockey team plans to move the team to Worcester, Mass., after this season, NewsChannel5 reported. The team's five-year lease at Quicken Loans Arena is set to expire. The Barons are the top minor league affiliate of the NHL's San Jose Sharks and play in the American Hockey League. http://www.newsnet5.com/sports/5951867/detail.html

Is Cincinnati gentrifying or decaying?
Thanks for posting the chart Cincy-Rise. Nice to see there is quiet a bit of residential development in downtown Cincy.

Will Akron ever get a sports arena?
On rare occasions they use Rhodes Arena for concerts. More often concerts are held at either the Civic, E.J. Thomas, or even sometimes the John S. Knight Center. Also, as audidave mentioned, Blossom holds many outdoor concerts during the summer months.

North Randall: Randall Park Mall
I believe your right mrnyc, I think it was the largest mall in the country when it was first built. I remember hearing about Randall Park when I was a kid, I wanted to go there so bad because I heard it was huge and had tons of stores. By the time I was a teenager, my brother and I finally made a trip up there. Boy was I disappointed, it had already started it's slow downward decline; it was nothing like the vibrant mall I'd heard about. With so many newer and renovated shopping centers in the Greater Cleveland area (just on the east side alone), I don't think Randall will be able to compete without some form of a major overhaul.

North Randall: Randall Park Mall
Haven't heard anything about condos; however, I don't think converting it into another use would be a bad thing. It's starting to resemble it's Akron twin, Rolling Acres Mall; though not nearly as bad IMO.

MAC: General Conference News & Discussion
Definantly not Zippy; I like. I think it's a good, catchy slogan for an athletic dept. that's trying to make more of a name for itself and if it get's the student body buying up T-shirts and what not, I'm all for it. During my years at UA, the school seemed to seriously lack any kind of spirit.

Cleveland: Bob Stark Warehouse District Project
Your not alone, I thought the same thing when I saw recent postings to the thread. Damn, I can't wait till later on today. I was telling my wife about it the article last week (believe me, she doens't really care all that much; however, she was the first available person I could tell), I felt like a little kid running home to tell what I'd learned in school.

Which Ohio Mid-size city has the best economy?
^ I'm sorry, but being included in the same CSA with Cleveland doens't automatically reduce Akron to suburb status in my book.
