Foreclosures: CNN Article - Where Cleveland Went Wrong
Great to that Cleveland's market is expected to rebound somewhat in the coming years. Although, Shaker being a ghostown littered with vacant homes is news to me. :?

Akron, Ohio: Seat of Summit County
^ Yeah, it depresses me to look at those empty store fronts. I remember as a kid going downtown and shopping on Main St. with my mom; it seemed like the coolest thing to me, especially around the holidays. There was talk of a development of some sort (can't remember the details), so some of those storefronts where actually vacated a few years back to make way for the development. Haven't heard anything recently about what they plan to do on the part of Main St. or if the plans are even still in place or not.

Down time 12/18/07
lol ... too funny and true. I kept checking back every five minutes or so while at work; I'm sure my numbers over the last couple of days will be much better. I'll be sure to chip in... I can't handle the withdrawal.

Cleveland: City Finances
^ It always amuses me how the people who spew info with no accurate fact behind them never reply when they are called out themselves. Gotta love the trolls.

Akron: Goodyear HQ & redevelopment
I felt like cheering when I heard this on the news last night. Great news for Akron, losing Goodyear would have been devastating not only economically but psychologically as well to the Greater Akron area.

Greater Akron METRO (RTA) News & Discussion
Wow, those are some pretty significant cuts... no weekend service :-o. Hopefully the public will pass the levy; that would also hurt senior citizens and those that are disabled that use the SCAT buses.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
^ Sad, but true. When you put it like that, you almost don't blame Andy for asking for the amount he wants. None the less, he ain't gonna get it here.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Big win for the Cavs against the Celts. Nice to see 'our' big 3 step it up in a big win. My thoughts on Andy... bye, bye. I don't know what him and his agent are thinking, but I don't feel bad at all about not grossly overpaying this guy. Hey Andy, here's a thought, ever heard of earning your worth? Your worth about what the Cavs are willing to give you, you still have yet to earn what your asking for. I called this about a week ago talking to a buddy at work, we won't see Andy in a Cavs uni again.

2007: Four Ohio Cities in Top 20 Most Dangerous Cities
^ Exactly, and not trying to sugar-coat the fact that Cleveland's got some issues with crime, but a look at the metro area as a whole is far more representative of the true quality of life in the Cleveland area. The sad thing is that the general public doesn't look at this way, they only see the numbers and form their opinions and generalizations off of those. A little off topic, but was talking with someone at work about how Cleveland and Chicago compare and she stated "Oh, I heard that you can even walk around at night there". I responded informing her that of course you can walk around, but just like Cleveland or any other big city, there are areas you should avoid at night. She then stated, "But you can actually walk around there downtown at night safely"; as if to say if your in DT Cleveland after dark your pretty much guaranteed to be mugged, shot, stabbed, carjacked, or something of the like. These are the attitudes these studies continue to fuel; people that rarely head into the city yet make numerous generalizations based on numbers and biased media reports.

J. Dub, did you change your name? ^ Yes, I was previously A 2 da K.

Does Cleveland Need a Go Green Attitude?
Some participants in Shaker’s Go Green program have reduced their energy consumption by as much as 59%. ^ That's impressive. I took the quiz; I'm killing the planet, just not as bad as the average American... I got a 15, the average American got a 24.

Abandoned: The Terraces (formerly Domain on Lee in Cleveland Heights)
^ I was just thinking the same thing. I was over by Cedar-Lee about a month or so ago taking a look at the deck and it didn't nearly look close to being finished. Nice to see it's done, it's needed on the weekends with all the bustle in that area lately. Love the accent lights... too cool.

2007: Four Ohio Cities in Top 20 Most Dangerous Cities
Good grief... I hate these list. Do we really need a yearly ranking of the cities with the most or least crime? It's like restating the obvious over and over again; the cities on the list rarely change except for flip-flopping positions. Pointless saturation of the public with data IMO.

CLEVELAND - November in the 70s (70+ pics)
^ I never said it was the best view of the Cleveland skyline; I can think of many, many better views than that. What I love the view is how the buildings begin the rise over the horizon from a distance, that's what I like about seeing the skyline from the vantage point. It's no where near the best view of the city, but it's still pretty cool IMO.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Totally agree... we definantly need more production off of our bench. I like what I'm seeing out of Devin Brown and Cedric Simmons looks like he's got some potential. The guys off the bench have got to be more productive in the long run; I'd really like to see a little more of Shannon Brown.

Ha ha... too funny. Ohioans infecting the south like the plague. I'm sure folks from NC, Texas, Arizona, Florida, and many, many, MANY other states could say the same.

CLEVELAND - November in the 70s (70+ pics)
Dammit... I've been in a vintage mood lately and saw the title of your thread and got all tickally excited thinking that it was some old fall pics of Cleveland in the 1970's. Oh, well, I guess these beautiful pics of the modern day Cleve will have to do. Time to head back, one of my favorite views on Cedar Road: ^ By far one of my favorite views as well. I love coming in from Legacy Village on Cedar and how you can start to see Key peeking over the horizon; as you get further down on Cedar, Terminal and BP start to pop up. It's one of the only roads I know of where you can follow the skyline from such a far distance out all that way into the city.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
The 6-foot-5, 185-pound Hughes, who signed a five-year $60 million free agent contract with Cleveland in 2005, has spent a large chunk of his career on the sideline with an assortment of injuries. ^ Good lord... I just want to weep uncontrollably whenever I read... Hughes - $60 mill - injuries... all in the same sentence.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
Anywho... I agree with you X, the article does start off insinuating like there is some sinister plot by the county. I just hope the folks at Merchandise Marts and the county can come to an agreement soon regarding a location; the longer it takes the more anxious and nervous I get.
