  1. Public Square - Cleveland
  2. Signage is not up. They pulled out because the chain is failing. A little nervousness by some of the new tenets but the seem confident things will work out.
  3. Not sure if you are aware but Toby Keith's officially pulled out. I saw the Forward and the concept is well done and it opens this weekend.
  4. I agree, Cleveland has plenty of local restaurants and I believe the city does need a few more national chains downtown. Out of town visitors tend to look for familiarity and Cleveland still lacks some of the basics.
  5. Thanks Punch.
  6. New York will have department stores given the continued population growth and the international affluence living in Manhattan. Barney's is opening a second flagship department store in manhattan and there is another department store near the World Trade Center.
  7. The first residents moved in last week. I will be move in next week. I was told by the leasing office that everything (including the restaurants) will be done by September.
  8. JKP - You seem like a reasonable guy. Why you would block me from the Playhouse Square discussion based on my opinion that there are no people on the streets says al lot about why Cleveland is stuck in the past. I won't be participating in conversations on this forum any longer. Good people here but you need an outsider perspective to keep things grounded and clearly you are part of the Cleveland past.
  9. I think it's a very funny commercial.
  10. I'm in shock at the lack of cars or people on the streets. These photos should be a reminder that Cleveland has a very long way to go.

He's a good writer but he does not seem to be a fan of Cleveland.

I wonder what Brian Windhorst is going to do now that LeBron is back in Cleveland? I'd say he should stay in Miami and continue to cover the Heat.
  13. I believe they both will do well. Ohio City caters to a different urban audience while the Flats will cater to a more suburban crowd. The venues and design of the flats are very Crocker Park like for a purpose.
  14. Regardless, the point is Cleveland needs a diner downtown.
  15. Cleveland is one of the poorest cities in America for a reason. The city needs to build a tax base with young professionals.
  16. Cleveland needs a diner downtown. The city needs a breakfast place bad.

Is that the best the Rock Hall can do in the green space area??

I would not trade Wiggins for Love. I'd like to trade Bennett or Waiters for Love but do believe both will be much better with LeBron.

I have to say that while I'm a Cavs fan and LeBron would make them better, the city does not need him like once was thought. The national media made it seem as the local economy would fail without LeBron. That never happened...in fact the 4th street area thrived. The GOP convention is confirmation that Cleveland is bigger than one person. That being said, LeBron's return will add to the momentum.
  21. I live in NYC and Cleveland has a bad inferiority complex. When I go back home and I tell people I liven in NY, the first thing they say is how do you like Cleveland. Also, the town seems very negative when I come home but that seems to be getting better with the positive momentum happening in and around downtown. My view is that Cleveland is headed in the right direction and better than a lot of similar sized cities. The GOP selection Cleveland as a finalists regardless of Ohio being a swing state says a lot about what the city has to offer.

Rich Paul in not trying to get LeBron to come back, It's more likely LeBron asked directed Paul to find a way to get him back to the area. I believe LeBron's return has been decided for a while as was the case when he left.

Jim Kelly went to the USFL not to have to play in Buffalo but now sill lives in the city and loves it. Just get him signed and win and he will love Cleveland.
  24. You can bet Cleveland will now get some of them. They have been out of the convention business forever but with this new center you can bet the state will have to spread the wealth politically.
  25. Columbus need to keep up with Cleveland or they will kill us for convention business.
