Cleveland: Marketing the City
I'm from Cleveland and live in NYC and when I was in a big time meeting with my job, everyone was talking about where they were from and went to college..Columbia, NYS, Harvard, Yale, Johns Hopkins... Then came me... I said " I went to Cleveland State" as proudly as if I had gone to Columbia. Cleveland has nothing to apologize for...it's a great city in the midst of an unbelievable turnaround.

Cleveland: Downtown: Playhouse Square Development and News
impressive!

Cleveland: Downtown: The 9 / Rotunda / County Admin Development
It's impressive and appreciated how engaged Michelle is with this forum. You don't see that as much with the others at the PD.

Cleveland: Marketing the City
I work in marketing and have developed many campaigns here in NYC and I'd have to say this strategically hits the mark for Cleveland. It addresses the negative stereotypes head on and that's what the city needs to overcome because the city has excellent assets that will surprise visitors. I very much live the direction.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
They are actually separate contracts and have to be. NFL won't allow advertising to influence the decision on the best care for a team. UH does not have a developed Sports Medicine Program and I was told the NFL is reviewing things.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Not sure if this has come up but the Cleveland Clinic and Browns relationship may not fully be over. I have it from good source that the NFL may not allow the Browns to shift the medical care part of the contract to UH because they don't offer the same level of care for sports injury and treatment for sports injury. Keep an eye on how this develops as I don't believe it's over.

Cleveland: Immigration News & Discussion
Job growth takes care of Clevelanders and attracts immigration. It should not be one at the expense of the other. Economic growth is the key.

Cleveland: Bars / Nightlife News
As someone that grew up in Cleveland and lives in NYC, Cleveland has tremendous assets that are on par or better than most Midwest cities. I was in Baltimore for the Browns game and Cleveland has more going on Downtown and inner ring neighborhoods. Even the inner harbor was not nearly as impressive as in its heyday. For Cleveland, density will come if the momentum continues to build. I'm more encouraged about what's happening in Cleveland then I've been since I left in the mis 90's.

Cleveland: 2014 Gay Games IX News & Discussion
I have now doubt Cleveland will impress. The city always shines during major events because people in Cleveland care about the city. The key will be what is the follow-up to engage a relationship with those that attend? How do you get those that live regionally (Columbus) to see the city as a destination to get away more frequently to enjoy the arts, food, concerts. The focus should be to make this more than a one and done event.

The building will end up being apartments.

Cleveland: Downtown: Euclid & 9th Tower / Schofield Building Redevelopment
If this building is going to open in 2014, they need to pick up the pace. It's very refreshing to see Giese (SP) move so quickly on his projects. He will open three rehabbed buildings next year in the same time it is taking to do the Schofield Building if it even opens next year.

Good point.

Cleveland: Downtown: Euclid & 9th Tower / Schofield Building Redevelopment
I was in Cleveland this weekend and was surprised at how little progress has been made in this building other than the cleaning.

Cleveland: Downtown: Hilton Cleveland
The Columbus Hilton looks like it belongs in a suburb. Cleveland's is very well done and will lively up the mall and feed Euclid, E. 4th and the Warehouse District.
-
Cleveland: Downtown: Hilton Cleveland
Financing for both Columbus and Cleveland are the same. Cleveland got the better end of the deal by far!
-
Cleveland: Downtown: Hilton Cleveland
After looking at the new Cleveland Hilton renderings and comparing them to the new Downtown Columbus Hilton, it seems that the Cleveland project clearly set a much higher architectural standard. What are your thoughts?

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
But remember this law firm is taking on more space which is a good thing vacancy rates.

The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
Purdue is a MAC team and would probably finish just above Akron and Eastern Michigan.

Cleveland: Downtown & Vicinity Residences Discussion
The city has a lot of good going on right now. Job creation would be the tipping point for Cleveland. Also, I'd have to say I'm a bit surprise that more companies have not moved downtown given the momentum. Even with Detroits problems, several major companies are moving back downtown. Cleveland seems to get a few companies of the 20 - 50 employee renge where Detroit has major companies of 500 - 1,000 moving downtown. The exit of Eaton Corp has downtown playing catch up. What are your thoughst?

Cleveland: Arts News & Discussion
I'll give the Scene credit, they seem to get news first such as the Nashville Med Mart was going under. My view is the PD is looking bad and had to do this story.

Cleveland: Downtown: The 9 / Rotunda / County Admin Development
Downtown is on fire! This will significantly increase foot traffic downtown.
-
Cleveland: Downtown: May Company Building
Don’t underestimate the importance 400 additional new units on Euclid will have on the decision of a Whole Foods or Heinens grocery store to open downtown as part of “The M” or another prime location.

No exaggeration...I live on Broadway on the upper westside where many people live.

Try living on Broadway in NYC. It's part of living in a city which Cleveland is becoming again.
