  1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWX9rOZ-Eak Good stuff...
  2. Nice to see these beautiful old buildings come back to life.
  3. They absolutely have strong preference, but I'd like to know where the funding will come from to make it happen. Below is cost for Buffalo's new non dome stadium. Cleveland's proposed dome stadium cost is significantly more. Also, there will be additional cost to build out all the bells as whistles such as restaurants and hotels that Haslem wants. Buffalo The stadium is estimated to cost $1.7 billion. Under an agreement with the state of New York, taxpayers will pay $850 million of the construction cost (with $600 million coming from New York State and $250 million coming from Erie County).
  4. The math does not at all add up for Haslem as I don't see how he can pull funding together for the BP location. Bibb is wisely calling his bluff with a very smart and fair offer.
  5. Cleveland has more to offer than most of their so called peer cities. I view Cleveland competing with cities a step up given the history, culture and amenities that cities such as Columbus and Indy do not have. The new leadership we have in the county and city are now laying the foundation to take advantage of our assets. I have never been more confident where Cleveland is headed.
  6. Good news. My initial sense is that Bibb has done a fantastic job so far. He is doing the basic blocking and tackling so far. Handling WSM, implementing smart meters, developing a new modern City website, shifting the location of the new police headquarters and making it easier to do business in the city.
  7. Agree, Cleveland needs to diversify architecture and a few more well designed glass buildings would help.
  8. Looks fantastic now! Not sure why the city did not originally include pollards. Why would Frank Jackson and his administration not include regulations when they hired the Conors firm? Glad it is now improved.
  9. I am encouraged by the direction of Cleveland. Continued investment in east side neighborhoods (and reduction in crime) is the key to growth.
  10. I hope they return safely.
  11. I just can't believe how improved PS is today by just looking that that pic. The improvements outside the bus lane are transformative with all the new apartments and SW HQ. If they can open small cafe's and shops like Rotten House Square, the city center will be much more impactful.
  12. Just a fantastic pic and that must mean KJP's wife took it. Downtown looks very nice with the new building.
  13. Cleveland has done a great job to preserve many older buildings with smokestacks. My preference would be to see the riverfront and entry to the city a bit more modern. The new Cavs practice facility is a good step forward for the city.
  14. Please tell me that building with the smokestack will be demolished.
  15. My sense is this is a really goo thing for the Charge and will bring a few more people to the core of the city (the Wolstein Center is off the beaten path). The questions that I have is where will the CSU basketball team play until a new arena is constructed?
  16. This is another building that modernizes the skyline. Very nice.
  17. The lot actually looks better than that garage.
  18. When the design of the SW building was initially shared, many were underwhelmed. What are your thought now it nearly finished?
  19. What's nice about Rittenhouse Square in Philly is it has nice little cafe's and restaurants in buildings around the square. Would be nice to see that happen with Hotel Cleveland retail space.
  20. What will provide even more stature for the city is having an international brand (Sherwin Williams) on the top of a really nice looking building.

Very interesting interview. He's done a lot for Detroit and Cleveland. The interview mentions the comparison between Cleveland and Detroit.
  22. Simply modernizes the skyline.
  23. The new location will create a lot more foot traffic in the center of the city. This is good for Detroit!
