Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
Cleveland has to many brick buildings with smokestacks. The city needs more architectural diversity so it does not look lake a city stuck in the past. Chicago is a city with an outstanding mix of old and new.

That smokestack needs to go. Also, riverfront phase 1 will happen sooner than later.

When seeing them together, they really look nice to me. It better unifies the theater district as a place.

Next time you think of complaining about the Cleveland Clinic architecture, watch this video of John's Hopkins!

Completely agree with X.

Cleveland: Downtown: Skyline 776 (City Club Apartments)
Euclid ave looks very dense. Could be part of any major city.

Cleveland: Slavic Village: Development and News
That building does not reomtly look worth saving. Plus after they tear down this building, you have many options in Cleveland neighborhoods to look at other delapitated buildings that look in the same shape.

Cleveland: Downtown: Skyline 776 (City Club Apartments)
It really fills the space well. Can't believe that was a surface lot for so long. Now the surface lot on Prospect needs to go! Given it's location next to the Fieldhouse, I'm surprised it has yet to be developed.

Cleveland: Streetscape Improvements
These little things are important. Could you imagine the Frank Jackson administration doing this?

What an impact.

Cleveland: Downtown: Sherwin-Williams Headquarters
Stop! It looks like a ghost town and there never seems to be more than three cars on the street. I'm very surprised for 20k living in the downtown area.

Don't forget the development in Hough and Fairfax. I view the investment in those neighborhoods as game changers as well.

The Official *I Love Cleveland* Thread
Cleveland has more to offer than most cities including some of the cities mentioned up thread. Given the new investment is housing, my sense is that Cleveland will very soon see positive gains in population. Also, companies are shutting down and consolidating everywhere including NYC. One reason I was glad Bibb won is we needed a fresh perspective. While there will sure to be a few growing pains, he appears smart and has started to duplicate a few things from other successful cities such as new street meters, WSM to a not-for-profit and a new Cleveland website that does not look like it’s from the birth of the intranet. These are small things, but they were never done before and they leave an impression of visitors.

Cleveland: Parking Meters
I keep the parking meter number and place a new session after the two hour meter expires. They wont allow you to extend the two hour here but, you can place a new two hour session.

Cleveland: Parking Meters
My parking tickets are way down by using the app and extending my time remotely.

I believe the new marquees will look sharp!

Cleveland: Parking Meters
I'm just glad we now have a mayor that understands that paying for parking with dimes and quarters is archaic! I'm certain visitors from out of town are shocked when they find out that coin only meters still exist.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Mobley's decision making at key points of the game need to improve. He needs to pass the ball to a guard before he turns it over (as he usually does)and stop taking threes until his percentages is well above 19.4% (which is simply awful). He contributed last night, but needs to stay in his lane which is rebounding, defense and low post shots.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Mobley seems to think he's a point guard and when he takes the ball up the court, he generally gets striped. Also, he really needs to stop shooting threes at crucial points of the game.

Cleveland: Hotel Development
Delta and Fedelity are definite. The Renaissance is underway and the W in a perhaps.

Cleveland: Mayor Justin Bibb
Bibb is trying to get Cleveland up to speed regarding things other cities have had for years. Just think about it, Cleveland has COIN meters in 2023! Look at the city website. It look like it was just launched when the internet was invented. Bibb is working on blocking and tackling to a degree.
-
Cleveland: Mayor Justin Bibb
Bibb seems genuine by attempting to raise Cleveland's profile and build relationships that can bring downstream benefit to the city. After 16 years of a mayor that would not leave the city boarders for anything, the optics of Bibb's travel may not look good to some, but this is not unusual for other mayors. I believe while he's still learning, he brings a fresh set of eyes to the table. Below is one example that has received push back from the old guard. https://www.cleveland.com/opinion/2023/01/dear-cleveland-city-council-set-aside-your-egos-and-embrace-participatory-budgeting-leslie-kouba.html

Cleveland: MetroHealth Medical Center
