Cleveland: Downtown: Playhouse Square Development and News
^ Are you referring to the potential tower that would be on Euclid & E. 17th? Where did you hear that it would be student housing? That just doesn't seem right. Or are you referring to the Edge?

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
All those tenants sound promising, but I was really hoping to see more retail. That's what downtown really needs more of, and that's what Stark promised with this project. Hopefully with the addition of new downtown residents from the Huntington Building, Cleveland Athletic Club, the Beacon, and NuCLEus, retailers will be more comfortable with opening downtown Cleveland locations in the near future.

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
My complaint about the school of dentistry building isn't about the parking (at least it's in the back), but about the design. It just looks like it's going to be another typical Clinic building with a useless little yard between the sidewalk and the building.

Cleveland Mayoral Race 2017
^ I would absolutely vote for either of them over Jackson or Johnson. I think Nina Turner would have the best chance of winning, but unfortunately I think she's more focused on statewide races.

Cleveland Mayoral Race 2017
We really need more "outsiders" in the mix in this race. I don't want to vote for Jackson but I also don't want to vote for Johnson. What are the odds that someone who is not currently on city council decides to run? I'd love to see Nina Turner and/or Chris Ronayne make a run for mayor this year.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Avenue District
^ Yeah they're really really bad. I hope something gets built on the lot just southwest of it (between E. 14, E. 15, and Superior) soon so these ugly townhomes aren't so noticeable from Superior.

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
I hope Stark is willing to cut down this project a little bit if he absolutely has to. I'm okay with a shorter tower and no hotel, as long as he's able to still bring some promising retail and new restaurants to this part of downtown.

Cleveland: Flats Developments (Non-Stonebridge or FEB)
^ Nautica needs to take notes.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
Knez mostly just does single family housing, no? I hope that's not the case for the Bodnar funeral home site. We really need some density and active retail there.

Cleveland: Warehouse District: Development and News
^ Stark owns all of that? Is it possible he's selling it to raise equity for Nucleus?
-
Cleveland: Nautica Development
The people at Nautica are stuck in the past. This is ridiculous and shouldn't be allowed to go forward.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Anyone know what the owner plans to do with the building ultimately? The rumors I've heard are very inconsistent. Restaurant on the bottom floor with offices above, all offices, restaurant with apartments above, etc.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
McDonald's Out, MetroHealth In at Ohio City Hollywood Video Site Crain's Cleveland, in a story published this weekend about investment along Lorain Avenue, reported that MetroHealth had purchased the Hollywood Video site on Lorain between W. 38th Street and Fulton Road. "The Dec. 6 sale...defuses the bitter debate between neighbors and plans to install a McDonald's restaurant on the site," wrote reporter Stan Bullard. http://www.clevescene.com/scene-and-heard/archives/2017/01/03/mcdonalds-out-metrohealth-in-at-ohio-city-hollywood-video-site

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
Jackson is completely pulling those numbers out of his ass. It's disgraceful that he's doubling down and keeping Superior closed even after this fine was threatened. Such a waste of money.

Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
It's a huge piece of land. If it's planned well, then I see no reason why it couldn't fit all the new dorms, in addition to a new smaller arena (and possibly a parking structure and green space as well).
-
Cleveland: Cleveland State University: Development and News
^ So, in that case would it be off-campus housing and the university is selling the land?
-
Cleveland: Downtown: The Avenue District
I also really like what they're doing with the part of this building that's facing Lakeside.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Admittedly I do not know much about construction methods, so I may risk coming across as a bit ignorant here but... aren't a large portion of the homes in Cleveland stick-built? I live in the Gordon Square area and the duplex I live in dates back to at least 1900 and it's still going strong. What's the difference between my house and the houses being built by NRP?

Cleveland: Rocket Arena (Gund Arena)
The Q is in fine shape and I feel like this isn't really necessary (especially with that price tag). But I guess I'll try to focus on the positives right now. I like the design and the way it will interact with Huron. And most importantly: they're removing the elevated pedestrian walkway over Huron!

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
They should split the site in half, build the new school (with a couple stories added) on the western side, and then sell the eastern side to a developer for some serious cash. But that would make too much sense. Why would they want to make any money off of this?

Lakewood: Development and News
Urbanophile replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Northeast Ohio Projects & Construction^ Great news, I'll definitely have to check it out. I really like that little one-story retail building and it looks great after they renovated it. You can really tell that the building owner actually cares about the historic integrity of the building and the way it fits into the neighborhood.

Cleveland / Lakewood: The Edge Developments
It's been painful watching this thing slowly being taken apart over the course of days. It's like slowly taking off a bandaid. I'd almost prefer if it was completely demolished overnight. It's a shame it's coming down. I wish more was done in the past to keep it from falling into such disrepair.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
^ tbh I would love for it to emulate a historic building. I really like how it looks in that rendering.
-
Cleveland: Downtown: Playhouse Square Development and News
^ Good god, I hope so. When is the last time that cornice has seen the light of day?

Cleveland: Midtown: Development and News
That's really great news. I love Dave's Market and I'm always happy to support them.
