Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
^ Wow, I had never seen that before. Thank god for design review!

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
I agree that a crown might look odd. I think the best solution would be to have it taper on the top few floors.

Cleveland: Marketing the City
Yeah, the city website is so bad that the Dept of Economic Development went and just made their own website: http://rethinkcleveland.org/

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
There are already 4 retail spaces in Battery Park.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
^ I personally doubt it. Battery Park is a bit off the beaten path, so most retail customers would come from the immediate neighborhood. There are already a decent amount of retail spaces in Battery Park including: Graffiti, Cha, the empty storefront at the powerhouse, and the bottom floor of the Shoreway Building (soon to be Vita Urbana).

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
The garages actually aren't facing a street at all actually. That's just a drive that will be created for access to these townhomes (presumably this drive will connect to W. 74th). The lot is awkwardly-shaped because of the new W. 73rd connection to the Shoreway.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
^ That 5-story building definitely doesn't exist, so it appears to be a part of the next phase.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
I think Battery Park's architecture is becoming more tasteful in recent phases. They've moved away from corrugated metals and garish bright colors. The recent townhomes on 74th look much much better than the (imo) tacky-looking townhomes along Battery Park Blvd. I look forward to seeing this next phase. Also, it's good to see what appears to be an apartment building, instead of only townhomes.

Cleveland: Downtown: Justice Center Complex Replacement
What's the possibility of the hypothetical new Justice Center being built on the former Horseshoe Phase II site? That's a very large stretch of land, and a new Justice Center could almost completely fill it in, and create a new street wall along W. Huron.

Cleveland: Which Project Will Be Next and Why
1) That looks awesome, sizzlinbeef. 2) Does anyone have any inside knowledge about the Brickman Duck Island project? Are they still having issues gaining site control? Is there any chance they will be starting work anytime soon?

Cleveland: North Coast Transportation Center
Welp, KJP, you succeeded. I really want that now.

Come on, klingaling throw us a bone! At least tell us what you think of the design. Is it very modern? Is it sparkly?

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
"New Nuevo to open in July." Kind of a funny sentence since Nuevo means new in Spanish. Anyway, I'm very excited to try it out and it sounds like a great choice for the lakefront. I hope Cumberland is able to keep pulling in good local NEO establishments for the lakefront. If the lakefront is going to be a tourist destination (which I believe is the idea), then it needs to give tourists a taste of the quality local establishments, and not national chains. I think Fat Heads would also be a great choice.

Cleveland: Downtown Office Buildings Updates
Also consider that Medical Mutual recently consolidated its Central Ohio operations at One Columbus Center in downtown Columbus. They chose downtown over the burbs in Columbus, so hopefully that says something about Medical Mutual's culture.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
I love seeing these smaller commercial buildings being renovated around the city. Does anyone know if there is a tenant for the retail space?

Cleveland: Downtown: Gateway District: Development and News
^ At least two commenters are saying that there is chatter about Medical Mutual consolidating and building new at the Flats East Bank. No idea how reliable that is though.

Cleveland: Downtown: Euclid & 9th Tower / Schofield Building Redevelopment
More like best historic renovation in the state in years (or maybe ever)! The transformation is incredible.

Cleveland: Mayor Frank Jackson
I don't want a 4th term for Jackson, but I also don't want any current members of city council to become mayor. We really need someone from outside of City Hall as our next mayor.

Star Wars Discussion (with spoilers)
I also thought this was a little strange. However, I think it could maybe be explained by the "awakening" of the Force that happened in this movie. Apparently the Force is something that can become weaker or more powerful at different times. In the prequels, the Force is clearly at a peak, considering the large number of Jedi and the considerable power of Yoda and Palpatine. After the Jedi are basically wiped out, the Force apparently became weaker as a whole. Then, in this movie, there has been inexplicable "awakening" of the Force. So maybe Rey doesn't need to train like Luke since the Force has been awakened and is now more powerful. I hope this awakening is described in more detail in the next movie, since I'm still not quite sure what it means. I do have an issue with Finn using the lightsaber so well, especially against Kylo. I guess it could be argued that Kylo actually isn't very good at lightsaber combat, but he still should have been able to easily defeat Finn.

Cleveland: Streetscape Improvements
For the most part, I like this a lot. I just hate the name MABU. It sounds silly. Must we give every little area a unique name? I'm also not sure how I feel about the "LAKE" and "CITY" signs. It should be pretty clear which way is which, anyway. And it's not like there's actually access to the lake from that area. I'm being picky though. Overall I really look forward to this.

^ Sorry. It automatically resized for me, so I assumed it did that for everyone. It's fixed now.

Cleveland: Duck Island: Development and News
There's been some progress on the Forest City Brewery building. They have painted the building, and also added new entrances for Duck Rabbit Coffee and Western Reserve Meadery. From what I understand, the actual brewery/restaurant will probably be the last thing to open, since they are waiting for an existing tenant to exit so they can expand into their space. This is what the building used to look like:

Cleveland Hopkins International Airport
As someone who doesn't travel a whole lot, and recently completed a trip to and from Europe, I'm surprised at the amount of hate that Cleveland Hopkins gets. During my trip, I was in Chicago O'Hare, London Heathrow, Frankfurt, and Berlin Tegel. While Cleveland Hopkins is clearly the smallest of all the airports I visited, I actually found it to be a better experience than most of the others. It's not a pretty airport, but the food options are pretty good, it's relatively easy to navigate around, and it had more electric outlets available than any of the other airports I visited.

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
^ It's only going to be open to buses, right? If that's the case, then I really don't have a problem with it. I'd rather it be a streetcar, but I guess that's a little too pie-in-the-sky ;)
