Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Seriously. I think its current site is terrible.

Cleveland / Lakewood: The Edge Developments
^ It's not like the townhome project was being completely blocked by this single commercial building. They could have still built the entire project, except for one or two townhomes, and renovated the existing building for apartments above and retail below. Instead they took the lazy way out.

Cleveland: Warehouse District: Development and News
I agree with MD88PILOT but for different reasons. Superior Ave. is a major street, and the plans basically ignore it as such. I think it would be a big improvement if the taller tower switched places with that low-rise that faces Superior. It would be a good impression for those driving into the city from over the Detroit-Superior bridge.

Cleveland: Tremont: Development and News
There's also the Ohio Awning project further south on Scranton. The developers of that are also planning on developing the two adjacent lots as well. Scranton Rd. is quickly becoming a new hot spot.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
^ It may be a "phony urban utopia" but it's also a major investment that is bringing in a lot of money for Stark. I don't see any reason we should be skeptical of Stark just because he's working to maintain his other existing properties.

^ LOL. "Wow" is all I have to say.

Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
Man, I really wish something unique could be done with this building. Unfortunately, it's just too out of the way. I can't imagine it being saved.

Cleveland: Streetscape Improvements
Clever idea. I just don't really like it, aesthetically speaking.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
^ I'll probably be there often. I live like a 3 minute walk away from this place. So excited that this place is finally opening (it's been saying "coming soon" for months)

Cleveland: Tremont: Development and News
^ Awesome! Though, I hope they don't tear down that brick mixed-use building on the corner. It's not particularly beautiful, but it's a classic example of the types of buildings built all along the main streetcar arteries. It's very "Cleveland."

I'm also willing to bet that Weston is going to break ground before Nucleus. If I recall correctly, they predicted that construction for the first phase will begin in early 2016. I am guessing that Nucleus will break ground some time after the RNC.

Cleveland: Detroit-Shoreway / Gordon Square Arts District: Development News
Strange, indeed. I sure hope they add windows and generally spruce up the whole look of the building. W. 73rd St. really needs spruced up. The whole east side of the street consists of old, largely unused, industrial buildings in the middle of a residential neighborhood. W. 73 is going to be the new access to the neighborhood from the shoreway, and it doesn't give off a very good first-impression of the hood.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
It's hard for me to sympathize when they're protesting the potential redevelopment of the gravel lot across from Bounce. Why would anyone be against that? It's a terrible-looking lot and, by all means, Detroit Avenue should be completely built-up. There's still plenty of parking in the area. This reminds me of the people who would rather have the old industrial building on Clinton Avenue instead of the Geis proposed development. Ridiculous. Honestly, Graham Veysey seems like kind of a douche. The way he refers to the neighborhood pre-Hingetown is pretty rude. However, I don't see any logical reason to oppose these developments. He actually has made a huge difference and, as shown in the in quote above, the poorest residents don't seem to be impacted negatively. It seems to just be the less-poor residents who have this false perception that these developments are negative.

Anyone have any idea what's being built on Detroit, just south of the 3-way intersection with W. 83rd?

Cleveland: Downtown: Justice Center Complex Replacement
But wouldn't it be ideal to keep all those workers in the CBD? I'm sure a lot of businesses downtown benefit from the Justice Center workers being there.

Cleveland: Warehouse District: Development and News
Yeah I really don't understand what they're doing with those setbacks. W.6th should have a dense feel to it, and Superior Avenue is a pretty major street to be essentially ignoring. I hope Planning Commission has similar things to say. This is a great project and all, but there's no reason that it should go forward without a few tweaks to the design. It's awesome that something (fingers crossed) will actually happen with these lots, but we need to do it right.

Cleveland: Warehouse District: Development and News
This is awesome news, and overall looks quite good! However, I hate to be that guy, but I do have some issues with the design: 1) Why the heck is there a slight setback with the buildings facing W. 6th St? That area in particular should have no setbacks. 2) I'd prefer more variance in design between the 3 towers. They're all practically the same except for their general size and massing. 3) They could do a better job with the interaction with Superior. I think it'd be better if the tallest tower was along Superior instead of W. 3rd. I liked Stark's previous Warehouse District plan better, but I'm glad this one at least has a chance of happening!

Cleveland: Downtown: Gateway District: Development and News
^ That's much less terrible. Still not great, but a major improvement on the previous plan.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
^ Whoever wrote that article is definitely not a Clevelander, calling Ohio City "downtown".

Cleveland: Midtown: Development and News
From what I have heard, this company 1) has a rather large payroll, 2) is growing very quickly, and 3) was actually very very close to moving to Independence. I'm glad the City was able to convince them to stay. And it's great to see the health-tech corridor filling in.

... and you would be 100% correct. Abramovitz designed Erieview's tower. Wasn't that I. M. Pei?

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
^^ I think the donor wanted it built, and that's the only reason. You're right that the Tinkham Veale Center could easily hold any events that would be held at this place. What a waste.

Cleveland: Warehouse District: Development and News
Yeah I agree that it seems like Stark already has way too much going on. But I can't think of any other developers if it's not K&D. I've heard that Clayco might be interested in investing more in Cleveland (they're the ones building that student housing across from the Levin College). However, I doubt they've moved this quickly.

I've heard talks about Weston developing one of those lots. Not sure how reliable my source is though, so I can't really confirm the rumors.

Cleveland: Retail News
OMG a Target Express would be amazing! And I hope the Nucleus rumors are true! Though there are a lot of good signs regarding the Nucleus project, I'm going to always be skeptical until I see construction.
