Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
I've hoped for a while that they will create a curbed blog from Cleveland. Even though this site would probably be a competitor of theirs.

CLEVELAND MEET - *THIS* Saturday, November 9th - 6pm
That is ironic that you just posted this. I literally was just wondering yesterday if there were ever any meet ups. I will be out of town this weekend though. :-(

Cleveland: Downtown: The Beacon
The inventory of Class C buildings ripe for conversion is getting pretty low, with planning coming together for the largest remaining structures. Are you hinting at something that hasn't yet been announced??

Cleveland: Downtown: Jack Cleveland Casino - Phase 2
"Moody's downgraded Rock's corporate rating from B3, which indicates high credit risk, to Caa1, which signifies very high risk." http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2013/10/rock_ohio_caesars_gets_negativ.html#incart_m-rpt-2 This does not look good for phase 2...

Cleveland: Downtown: Playhouse Square Development and News
Has Playhouse Square gotten the Keith Building's owners to agree to add lighting? My understanding is that PS doesn't own the Keith. Unfortunately. I don't recall hearing anything about lighting for the Keith building either. Is this happening? It would be awesome if it is getting some multi-colored LED up lighting!

Is the L shape design a standing L like the San Diego hotel or is it an L shape when viewed from above?

Cleveland: University Circle (General): Development and News
"Despite weak fundamentals, supply is coming here because there is a severe dearth of newer office product in the market, particularly in the CBD where the average age of existing inventory is over 80 years old (the average age in the metro overall is 55 years). Case in point is the Intesa building, which is expected to deliver 125,000 SF of Class A space in the East submarket in late 2014. This building is being marketed as a cutting-edge project that will cater to both traditional and biotech tenants. The building will likely attract tenants from around the metro, causing more outdated space to sit on the market." http://www.joneslanglasalle.com/ResearchLevel1/Cleveland%20Office%20Insight%20-%20Q3%202013.pdf I'm not a building expert, but Intesa with a deliver of late 2014 seems kind of quick. Am I missing something here or is this just bad info? :wtf:

Cleveland: Warehouse District: Development and News
"The residential revival of downtown Cleveland is on the cusp of reaching the Worthington Building, a little-known, five-story building at 621 Johnson Court — an address technically in the middle of an alley between West Sixth and West Ninth streets in the Warehouse District." http://www.crainscleveland.com/article/20131020/SUB1/310209974

Wow, those look legit!

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
That is over 50% more units! I would imagine they would have to build upward to keep space available for all the other attractions that they want to put down there.

Cleveland: Warehouse District: Development and News
This is a creative idea but I wonder if it will actually work. What kind of retail will someone sell out of a freight container? I'm wondering if it will end up looking like a cheap flea market stall.

Cleveland: Downtown: John Hartness Brown Buildings / Euclid Grand
^^ I laughed to myself when I read that too. I believe that 6-8 floor extension rendering is from the previous owner who was going to turn the building into a residential redevelopment, right? I will be really excited when I start seeing construction workers there. All too often it seems like things are announced and then they never actually happen...

Cleveland: Downtown: Euclid & 9th Tower / Schofield Building Redevelopment
I may be too anxious in asking but does anyone know what work is currently being completed, if any? I haven't noticed much going on. Tell those workers to pick it up and work at "Geiss" speed! :whip:

There is not nearly that many rooms downtown...?

Cleveland: Downtown: Playhouse Square Development and News
A buddy and I ate at the sushi place, in between the theaters, on Monday at about 7:45. There was only one other customer in the restaurant. It made me kind of worried if it was always like that on nights that there were no shows. The sushi was really good though and it is 20% off on Mondays and Tuesdays!

Wine cellar? I've seen the plans and it is actually going to be a walk-in beer cooler JK! :drunk:

Cleveland: Downtown: East 4th Street Developments
Mystery solved! Pickwick & Frolic just installed a new LED-type rolling-display sign capable of video imagery. It's quite an upgrade over the old static, movie marquee display. Although it is an upgrade, it looks like a cheap LED display. The LEDs are large and cause the comedian images to be distorted. I'm not expecting an HD LED screen but I just think it could have been something a little better. IMO

Cleveland: Downtown: Huntington Bank Field
Banner said that on a scale from 1-10 our sound system is rated at a 2 and can only achieve a max rating 7 or 7.5 due to the stadium set up. That is disappointing.

Cleveland: Downtown: Euclid & 9th Tower / Schofield Building Redevelopment
I think that this might be a parade. Judging by the fact that two of those cars are convertibles, with their tops down, and everyone is wearing winter jackets... 8-)

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
I was telling the owner that he should add a rooftop patio. It would be the best view in town! Unfortunately, the Port of Cleveland owns the building and they were already giving him a hard time with the construction of the restaurant. I remember the Port of Cleveland wanted Portside to do something (can't remember what exactly) with the ceiling of the restaurant that would cost them $70K. That's why it was taking Portside so long to start the construction of the restaurant.

Cleveland: Downtown: Euclid & 9th Tower / Schofield Building Redevelopment
When I drove by earlier today, I saw a couple of windows that appeared to have some new wood framing in place. I'm wondering if they are going to be using it to test some new windows for placement/fitting.

Cleveland: Downtown: Playhouse Square Development and News
LOL :drunk: I'm kind of excited for the vintage 1920's style sign on top of the Cowell and Hubbard building. Also for all the new digital LED displays!

Cleveland: Downtown: The 9 / Rotunda / County Admin Development
You know, I wondered if there were any plans for that - when I was in Indianapolis two years ago, one of their buildings on Monument Circle has similar windows (see below). I don't know if I'd want them to be as wackadoodle psychedelic as these but even a mild lighting accent might be nice? I think this would be awesome if there were controllable multicolor LED lights like on the Terminal Tower. That way they could do any effect they like and even draw 8-bit like images with all the windows . I really don't know if they would install the lighting in the windows since it is going to be apartments. I think I would get annoyed if I had multiple colors shining in my window at night. I hope that they at least install colored LED lights shining on the top of the building, making somewhat of a colored crown rather than just black.

YAAAAAAAAA!!! :shoot: :shoot: :shoot: I really hope so but still skeptical. It would be quite the turn around for Heinen's since they said they were not going to be investing in the area and were looking to expand outside of the region.
