Cleveland: Flats East Bank
Confirms any skepticism about the Toby Keith's bar As Flats evolve, so does Cleveland "We're going to start construction on Toby Keith's and Zack Bruell's new restaurant, and in another pad building, the Metroparks is bringing back the water taxi," http://www.19actionnews.com/story/27927857/as-flats-evolve-so-does-cleveland

Cleveland in the 1990s
This is why I love this site. You get to relive/experience the past through other people. Thanks for posting! What was the story behind Mayor White and halting the building boom?

Cool, I never knew about Lighthouse Landing! The brick building on the left is now Portside Brewery :-D yum! BTW - Those are nice light posts. I don't think they are around anymore? ...Semi-answer - I just looked on streetview and they were there still in June of 2011 but not sure about now.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
Butcher and the Brewer's Eric Anderson keeps crafting creative beers CLEVELAND, Ohio – At first glance, Eric Anderson looks more like an accountant than a brewer. With neatly trimmed hair and studious glasses, he isn't found behind the bar where he works, at Butcher and the Brewer, nestled smack in the middle of East Fourth Street. As groups gather along the long bar and amid the communal tables, Anderson is a lone figure scampering amid the bright tanks, usually with a hose in his hands and rubber boots on as he scrubs and checks brewing levels. http://www.cleveland.com/drinks/index.ssf/2015/01/butcher_and_the_brewers_eric_a.html#incart_river Did the butcher side open yet? I haven't been over there in a while.

40 units in a $14M conversion, I would think this would be difficult to generate enough cashflow to cover the debt. Maybe they are expecting a lot of money from tax credits. Anyway, good news for the area! Where does the Jewish Federation building project stand? We haven't heard any updates on that project in a while it seems.

Cleveland: Downtown: Residences at 1717
I've suggested as much a few times here, including the garage on the south side of Walnut and turning that street into an East Fourth-like alley, but with a single lane for cars. A majority of the side streets off of E9th are parking garage dead zones. :-(

Cleveland: Downtown: Residences at 1717
Is there any way to reconfigure the attached parking garage to add ground level retail or such?

I hope so!

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
I'd be surprised. But the tunnels are really only under the footprint of the monument, so it's not an extensive system under the square as a whole. I also don't think that any of the major utilities that run under the square come into close proximity of the tunnels. I've been down there. It's really cool and creepy! I just asked the guy who was working that day if he could show me and he agreed. I believe his name was Tim. Very nice guy and he was really into the idea that the place is haunted.

Geis plans single-tenant office revamp of Whitlatch Building, if Cuyahoga County OKs $600,000 sale CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Developer brothers Fred and Greg Geis aim to continue their downtown Cleveland buying spree with the purchase of the Whitlatch Building, a Carnegie Avenue property that could be repositioned for a single office user. Cuyahoga County is considering a sale of the 33,400-square-foot building, which is largely vacant, to an affiliate of the Geis Cos. of Streetsboro. In an interview Tuesday, Fred Geis said he'll pitch the 1960s structure to tenants interested in having an entire building to themselves and a high-profile perch near Interstate 90. http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2014/12/geis_plans_single-tenant_offic.html#incart_river

Cleveland: Downtown: Jack Cleveland Casino - Phase 2
Phase 2 will be built! Or Not.... :-o Investment in Horseshoe Casino Cleveland and other Rock Ohio ventures worthless, investor says CLEVELAND, Ohio - A Minnesota gaming company contends that its $21 million investment in Rock Ohio Ventures is worthless, citing disappointing performance by the Horseshoe Casino Cleveland and Rock Ohio's other properties, according to financial statements. Lakes Entertainment Inc., based in Minnetonka, reported to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission last month that it bases the "value of zero" on an analysis of Rock Ohio's cash flows and working capital as well as talks with managers. http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2014/12/investment_in_horseshoe_casino.html#incart_m-rpt-1

Cleveland: Downtown: Halle Building + Annex Conversion
I wonder when the apartment conversion will be started in the Leader building, since they want to get that finished before the Halle. The Halle garage is the most beautiful parking garage I have ever seen! Sad that it will stay a garage but at least it's purrdy!
