  1. The video boards will eventually be showing graphics for shows that are current/upcoming for their specific theater. So at least those won't always have the branding.
  2. And the final arch is now in place, next comes the sidewalk video board network.
  3. Euclid arch as seen when leaving the district. And entering.
  4. 2015 now? That's a huge bummer!
  5. Arch bases on 14th are fully covered now.
  6. Anyone know anything about this place? Noticed it when I went to the post office the other day.
  7. Really bummed about the removal of the E 14th stop for the C-Line. It was really convenient for Hanna building residents. Is there a new stop on Prospect or does it just loop back around to Euclid? Edit: I just rode and talked to the driver. The stop was moved to the south-east corner of Prospect and E 14th. I guess that's almost as convenient, though the stop is in the dark next to a parking lot across the street instead of in front of the well lit Hanna theater. Just doesn't feel as safe.
  8. And here I was just about to apologize for posting so many pictures! Here's a new addition. I got a terrible blurrycam shot of a flatbed bringing in some more letters for the sign. I also noticed that there's someone experimenting with a red light under the awnings for District.
  9. I can see my house from there! ;) Good lord, are those cut-out people a permanent installation? Please say no. Yeah, they surround the pedestrian entrance to the gated Hanna lot. They don't look as bad from the other side. I grabbed more shots of the retro sign. I'm still a bit in the fence on it. I like the height it adds to the building, but something about the color of the letters look off to me. Also thought the LCD marquee signs looked better today. Finally, a shot of the material they're using to cover the concrete bases for the arches.
  10. I might be wrong, but I think the handrail only looks like it's closing the street from the sidewalk due to the perspective. I think the rail is on a retaining wall that runs parallel to the sidewalk below, and from this angle you can't see the sidewalk. There isn't really much of a sidewalk there. The plaza was designed in a way which attempts to divert pedestrians away from the street. I was standing on the outdoor stage when I took that, the handrail is on the back of the stage. Btw, here's a pic with some of the letters up on the retro sign.
  11. Has there been any progress on this lately? Walking by annoyed me all winter because the sidewalk was never cleared after snowfall. Nearly fell countless times. I hope some momentum builds soon.
  12. They must have turned the brightness up. I was actually able to see the signs in the distance today.
  13. Noticed that one of the new marquee signs was turned on when I walked by earlier. I have to admit, it didn't look too great in the sun. They've made progress on the others as well.
  14. Just saw in the PD, the city has selected a developer for the lakefront project. It's split into three phases starting in 2015. Includes 1,050-1,250 new apartments, a public school, an 80,000 sqft office building, and a marina. http://www.cleveland.com/business/index.ssf/2014/03/dick_pace_trammell_crow_tapped.html#incart_river_default
  15. ... Really? Please tell me I'm not the only one here who had an immature little giggle when they read that. Especially when reading the tweets. "I #LUVCAK and you should too!"
  16. We need to fill up all of the first floor retail spaces in the hanna annex first!
  17. Yeah, I didn't realize that they'd both light each letter and have backlighting across the entire arch. They're still working as I write this (so much forklift beeping), so there may be more work to be done tonight. Perhaps they'll get the concrete bases covered.
  18. Sorry for the crappy angle. They just lit up the 14th st arch.
  19. The 14th street arch is up. Instagramized: I took a few pics before I went to bed of them raising it. I ended up falling asleep before the good part. Bonus pic of one of the new finished video boards, just not turned on.
  20. Yeah, they have electrical wiring going up the supports.
  21. I won't be able to make it. I have a Dr.'s appt. around that time. :/
  22. They were working into the early morning hours last night, I kept waking up at various times due to their bangs and clangs. Hopefully the end result looks as good as the renders. Anyways, just like on Huron, they ended up getting the supports up, but the arch was just placed on the sidewalk. Below are a couple of shots I took on my walk to work.
