Cincinnati: Mt. Auburn: Development and News
urbangiraffe replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionThey have already redone the properties abutting this small street that runs between them and the hotel on reading rd that they built. Sounds like they want to make them quieter/more marketable without a cut through public street

Cincinnati: Mt. Auburn: Development and News
urbangiraffe replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionSeveral lots on Sycamore hill between Goethe and Dorsey owned by the Wades have been fenced off with temporary construction fence. Not seeing any permit activity - anyone heard what is going on?

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
urbangiraffe replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionUnfortunately it appears that the long rumored potential for Rhinegeist to build a lift up the side of the hill to CUF are dead. They officially sold their vast holdings on Renner/Mohawk to a food packaging company. Will be interesting to see if anything gets built or if it's just to hold for speculation...

urbangiraffe replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionNIMBY of the year award for Mt Auburn: "But neighbor Barry Roth objected to one of the setbacks, which he said would place one of the homes too close to his, blocking the light. He asked that the project be moved two feet in order to mitigate the issue."

Cincinnati: Mt. Auburn: Development and News
urbangiraffe replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionThey have a design, as it is required for Port property development application, but they are trying to buy out the family that owns the unused church and lots behind. Unfortunately there is fighting about ownership between the heirs. So it could be a small building to start and then build around it, or they just wait.

Cincinnati: Over-the-Rhine: Development and News
urbangiraffe replied to The_Cincinnati_Kid's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionLiberty Hill has a few small multi fams built within the last 5 years, but they have some off street parking - two duplexes at 432 and 434 as well as a triplex at 545. Very doubtful the economics would work in many other neighborhoods here.

Cincinnati: Mt. Auburn: Development and News
urbangiraffe replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & Construction2448 Auburn Ave - the mansion with some sort of ties to Downton Abbey - has officially sold to the uptown properties family. Guess we can kiss that one goodbye along with everything across the street that will be torn down for the new mega development of hotel/office/residential.

Cincinnati: Mt. Auburn: Development and News
urbangiraffe replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionI thought I had seen it referred to as that before on here, but now that I Google I see it was the residence of the governor from 1872-1874. https://books.google.com/books?id=g9vJrsMSnEQC&pg=PA369&lpg=PA369&dq=1940+Bigelow+Street,+Cincinnati,+OH&source=bl&ots=ULs9UGmvmJ&sig=ACfU3U2uTaBYKPGPLuaSmqi6zy8DlDOXaQ&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjV4ZGc14npAhXLHM0KHeyuBc4Q6AEwBXoECAcQAQ#v=onepage&q=1940 Bigelow Street%2C Cincinnati%2C OH&f=false

Cincinnati: Mt. Auburn: Development and News
urbangiraffe replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionIt's crazy how few Cincinnati natives know these neighborhoods, even with this one bordering OTR. Ever since I started investing in Mt Auburn 4 years ago I constantly have to explain it as the neighborhood with Christ hospital. That's usually followed by a look of why the hell would you invest there ?

Cincinnati: Mt. Auburn: Development and News
urbangiraffe replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionUptown properties has slowly been buying up as much of Bigelow St as they can. Just closed on what I believe was the old mayor's mansion at 1940 and already demolished the large lot at the dead end. Wonder if it will be more single family houses like on Ringold or a combo with multifamily...

Cincinnati: Demolition Watch
urbangiraffe replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Architecture, Environmental, and PreservationKingsley Development bought up all of that and the vacant parcels around it for a total over $1 million a week or so ago. Must be their new project since their version of the Central Parkway Kroger fell through..

Cincinnati: Mt. Auburn: Development and News
urbangiraffe replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionUnfortunately they seem to have no plan for it and the president gets angry/belligerent when anyone approaches them to propose buying for development. Another small development of houses is coming to Carmalt St as well. Hopefully the start of bigger things between these two developments.

Cincinnati: Random Development and News
urbangiraffe replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionHas anyone heard what is going on with the street level space at Sycamore Place? Notice it's being gutted today, so maybe a conversion to apartments like happened at East 8 Lofts?

Cincinnati: Mt. Auburn: Development and News
urbangiraffe replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Southwest Ohio Projects & ConstructionAs a resident I would love for a one way to happen as well, but unfortunately traffic already backs up so far up Sycamore hill waiting for Liberty left turns that there's no way the DOTE or Christ Hospital would allow that.
