Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
It would be nice to see some sort of "waterfront loop" line included in the study. I know this is a transportation topic, but if it were included, how do you see a loop completed? Meaning, would it be street level? An elevated line? Or possibly underground?

That could've been Mayor Jackson's dirt bike track, but instead we get a skyscraper.

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
Along with ticket machines like MTA or CTA and actual people working at the turnstiles. Oh yeah, maybe getting more transit police to have more visibility on the rail lines instead of mostly being in patrol cars. This isn't a slam, just a wish list.

Is the Magellan project and the condo tower on E. 9th still in play? I haven't heard much about either as of late.

I know I know...money prohibits it, but wouldn't Burke make a great place for a zoo relocation? Add in a top notch aquarium built "into" the lake...the possibilities would be numerous.

If the project across from the jail gets legs and add a second tower on SW block....

Cleveland Burke Lakefront Airport
Interesting take in this information. It would be a huge undertaking, but it would be a cool concept to move the Cleveland Zoo to the burke area. It is already double the land area and you could really expand. It would be much easier to access, and the old zoo could be repurposed.

Ken, do you ever see a point in which CCF would build anything downtown that would house the "business" side of hospital, or do you think they will always remain uptown?

I just saw this thread today (from the KJP bomb part)...I think I peed in my pants a little! I think that the money backing this project will make an awesome transformation to this area. I also hope that the Bibb administration will be fresh thinking, cut the red tape, and be a welcoming entity rather than a hurdle in a steeplechase event!

I find it intriguing what is going on with this property. The idea that somebody would pay top dollar to just continue with a surface parking lot seems unlikely. Dan Gilbert has had an impact in downtown Detroit, so I wonder if he may be the buyer here? With the Bolivar project looking pushed off, if not cancelled...and the lack of for sale condos in downtown...this seems like a prime opportunity for Gilbert to build a mid/high rise office/condo/hotel complex right next to his arena. I know I may be reaching, but why not, right?

To me, that was the appeal of how out of place it looked. You can't build old buildings amongst old buildings, so why not embrace the mix of old and new?
